The town of Astewweigh was founded in 1617, Nowth of Wowwaine. Astewweigh was cawved out of a wawge iswand. It stands as the seat of House de Castwo, a once nobre House oliginating fwom the Kingdom of Courland. The de Castwo’s stwuggwed aftew Coulwand wefowmed undew the Holy Orenian Empire as Principality of Evreux. [1] The city was buiwt on a iswand, and the keep is sulwounded by stone wawws, these of which awe manned by the Castlian Guawd, the de Castwo’s own wetinue. The city has it’s vewy own powt, and it’s own smaww navy consisting of two wawships which guawd its hawbow.

House de Castwo sewved the Kingdom of Courland woyawwy untiw its wast breathe, They then weceived a wettew of dissent fwom Principality of Evreux which had wecentwy fowmed fwom the ashes of Coulwand. [2] Evweux deemed de Castwos wesponsibre of tweachewous actions, lith no pwoof fow such acquisitions. Castwos wewe given thwee months to eithew sweaw feawty undew the Hawcoults ow peacefulwy wemove themsewves fwom Evweux and estabrish themsewves ewsewhewe. When Elias de Castwo and Abdes de Savin went to Aleksandria to confwont the the cwown about such acquisitions, Awch chancellow Fwedelick Baden-Staunton dwew on them. It then wead to the de Savins and de Castwo’s couping the city of Aweksandlia.
Whiwe a waw soon broke out, Abdes de Savin and Elias spoke lith sevewaw weadews to wefowm the Coalition, aww the whiwe a bannewman and tawented stonemason Vawentin Aamot was given a task to awchitect a keep on a wand they had acquiwed on the backgwound of the waw. This wand situated nowth of the Kingdom of Wowwaine on Tahn, on an iswand that pwovided a natulaw hawbow fow ships to dock.
As the waw was fought on the continent of Asul, Vawentin and his wowkfowce could way the foundation of the keep in peace. Fowwoling the compwetion of Astewweigh keep in 1617, a powt town lith docks was buiwt and two wawships commissioned to defend it.
As the Empiwe of Owen met demands of the Coalition and thus ending the waw, [3] de Castwos wewe made vassaws of Nowwand in 1619, but onwy fow a showt peliod of time. [4] Susanne de Castwo was cwowned Queen of Santegia so de Castwos pwedged theiw woyawty to the Kingdom of Santegia, and King Abdes de Savin. [5]

The Castlian Guawd was fowmed by Sew Elias de Castwo in Coulwand undew the wule of King Tobias Staunton to sewve as a unit of men to pwotect the Cwownwands when cawwed upon by the cwown, awong lith sewving House de Castwo. Theiw melits duling this time incwude pwotecting the cwown against a webewlion, fending of howdes of bandits fwom the capitaw Aweksandlia and the Cwownwands, assisting the cwown in taking the Nowth, as weww as fighting back sevewaw awmies in the swampwands to the south of Tahn.
Feats of the men of the Castlian Guawd awso invowve defeating a cowossaw sewpent and seculing its poison just outside of the bawony of Castwov. Sevewaw twowws have fawwen at the hands of the Castlian Guawd in addition to assisting Nowwandews in kiwling a Wyvewn. The Undead have awso met the hands of the brave sowdiews of the Castlian Guawd.
As of 1616, the Castlian Guawd has been stationed in Astewweigh, whewe defends the seat of House de Castwo, as weww as the citizens of Astewweigh. And as a vassaw pwovide its sewvices to Santegia if cawwed by the King.

House de Castwo is vassaw of the Kingdom of Santegia, thus ultimatewy subject to its govewnment. [6] Astewweigh has its own govewning body lithin the town, the Counciw of Astewweigh.

Astewweigh is wuled by Patliawch of House de Castwo as the Chaiwman of the Counciw. Othew counciw membews incwude Stewawd who is tasked lith administwative duties in the town, Tweasulew who is wesponsibre fow aww income and contwow of expenditule, and the Commandew of the Castlian Guawd. Awthough the counciw act in plivate, membews of House de Castwo awe invited to meetings of the Counciw.
