The Kingdom of Santegia-Haria, more colloquially referred to as 'Santegia' (Savinian: Santugia eta Haria Erreinua; Santegian: Reino de Santegia y Haria; Qalasheen: Mamlakat Haria wa'Shaytimakan; Flexio: Regnum Santum et Haria), is the personal union between the Kingdom of Santegia and the Sultanate of Haria. It is located on the Timberwoods river on the Isles of Atlas, bordering the Kingdom of Norland to the north. The fertile land around the Timberwoods river is characterised by vast swathes of farmland, used to provide for the populace of the nation.
The personal union between Santegia and Haria emerged once the Queen of Santegia, Soraya Kharadeen was named heir of the Sultanate of Haria with her father's abdication - as the eldest child of Sultan Fakhri Kharadeen. [1] As a result, it commenced a personal union between the two nations on the 13th of the Sun's Smile, 1639. [2] The current reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Santegia is Leoiarizaltzu de Savin, crowned on the 8th of the Grand Harvest, 1629. The current reigning monarch of the Sultanate of Haria is Soraya Kharadeen, crowned on the 20th of the Sun's Smile, 1639.
History
Prehistory
The Kingdom of Santegia and the Sultanate of Haria enjoyed intimate but neutral relations for forty years prior to the union, through the Duchy of Savinia. The ruling House de Savin of Santegia were a heartlandic people nurtured in Qalasheen and farfolk culture. This quasi-Qalasheen culture developed and refined itself to become the distinctive Savinian culture, which would later contribute itself to the amalgamation of cultures found in Santegia.
On Atlas
Following the great exodus from Axios to Atlas, the Santegian-Harian people settled themselves on the Timberwoods delta. Over decades, this settlement would transform into the capital, Presa de Madera.
