History

Ruslan I Amador

In 19th of the Amber Cold, 1573, Ruslan I of the House of Amador, having worked diligently in the Northern Lands for the John III, Holy Orenian Emperor was granted the Barony of Mondstadt. For reasons unknown to us, in 1582, Ruslan officially moved the House of Amador under the protection of Dmitri Viktor II Ruthern, 3rd Count of Metterden, becoming their vassal until 1583, at which point they transferred their fealty to the Andrik II of the House of Barbanov.

Circa 1580, Ruslan Amador met with Ser Guy Owyn Jrent, who was able to arrange a betrothal for his daughter, Anna Sophia, to his own son & heir of House Amador, Ramdir.

In the early winter of 1585, King Andrik II of Haense, later titled "The Winter King", staged a short insurgency against the Holy Orenian Empire to gain the independence of the Kingdom of Haense, called the Deep Cold Uprising. Baron Ruslan Amador of Mondstadt rose his banner in support of King Andrik II of Haense, however, the historical record is (as of yet) unclear as to what punishment may or may not have been tolled upon the House of Amador.

In 1587, Anna Sophia blessed Ruslan with his grandchildren: Owyn Ruslan and Alyssa Adelheid.

In the Season of Deep Cold, 1589, Baron Ruslan I Amador of Mondstadt passed away, due to a long-term illness that is suspected to have been some form of Lung disease. To honor his memory, and his legacy, a funeral was planned in the Three Saints Church, located in St Karlsburg, Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska .

Ramdir I Amador

"The Manor of Mondstadt, Hanseti-Ruska, circa 1640"

The twenty year-old Ramdir, unlike his father, was ill-suited to the govern Mondstadt. This sudden change of status had been a rather devastating blow to Ramdir, who grieved for several months & pushed Lady Anna Sophia towards taking lessons of governing and politics, taught to her by Professor Bell Sano of Johannesburg, to supplement her husbands faults.

In 1590, the Coalition War broke out. At the Battle of Mount Gorgon, The House of Amador fought against the Dwarves of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, where Ramdir fought on the frontlines of the noble infantry, whilst Anna used her crossbow to assist the soldiers of the Imperial Army. When the day was won by the Empire, House Amador returned home to feast and rest. In the first week of 1591, House Amador was greeted with another member: Julia Katherine Amador.

Following the Defeat at the Battle of the Gorge, the tides of the Coalition War began to shift. This had the effect of starting a fragmentation of the Fifth Holy Orenian Empire, with noble lords with very little to hold them to the Imperial system, began to seek a white peace from the Kingdom of Courland, so that they may agitate for their independence; The Barony of Mondstadt followed this path when, On 6th of Amber Cold 1594, Ramdir was summoned to Johannesburg to cement his loyalty to an individual whom be bore no allegiance to. As a result, At the Age of Twenty-Seven, Ramdir was murdered at the hands of the Orenians.

Owyn "Iron-Fist" Amador

Starting his rule at the age of 8, Young Owyn Amador was still considered too young to rule. Dorm Amador, a distant kinsman to the House of Amador was made regent of the House until Owyn's 16th Birthday, when he was considered a man. During this time, Owyn was left at the care of his sisters, his regent and his servants. Dowager Baroness Anna Sophia left Mondstadt to spend her time in the Kingdom of Lotharingia. Subsequently, Aylwin Blaxton was hired to serve as his diplomatic representative in the Southern Kingdom, to improve the relationship with Owyn's Mother, The King of Lotharingia & find any mercantile opportunities.

During this time, he also married Adrijana Kovechev, who would soon give birth to Henrik I Amador, Ruslan II Amador, Diane Amador.

Circa 1590, Aylwin Blaxton and his patron, Baron Owyn Amador were arrested at the County of Mondstadt by bannermen led by Otto Barbanov & Boris Ruthern, on suspicion of High Treason against King Marius I. However, after a court hearing within Karlsburg, both men were acquitted. Testimony against the two men was never released to the general public, citing suspicions of falsified evidence or political intrigue.

Owyn Amador, as a loyal vassal of Marius I of Haense fought in the Great Northern War alongside his bannermen. He is known to have led forces at the Battle of Elba & the Battle of Curon. He is known to have fought Valiantly for his age. However, during a skirmish upon the County of Mondstadt, Owyn was captured by Courlandic forces and was dragged away for ransom. When the Kingdom of Haense refused payment, the Courlandic forces took payment in the form of Owyn's left hand.

Later on, the Kingdom of Haense capitulated to the Courlandic forces and King Tobias Staunton revoked the ancestral seat of Mondstadt from the House of Amador, after the latter refused to bend the knee to his new Courlandic Overlord. The County was devalued to the rank of barony once more and renamed Northmarch, before being granted to Percius Mauntel, Lord Treasurer for King Tobias Staunton.

After reclaiming Northmarch from Courlandic forces decades later, the House of Amador had come under the vassalage of Peter II, Holy Orenian Emperor in a new land called Gravelhold. However, once the Sixth Imperium had fallen into disarray and the Amadors scattered, they were unable to reclaim their ancestral seat. As a result the House of Barbanov made the former county their Winter Residence until the Exodus to Atlas.

Geography

"Farmlands of Mondstadt, Hanseti-Ruska, circa 1640"

The County of Mondstadt sat on the northern side of the Mountains of Greyspine, within riding distance of Metterden and the Haenseni Capital of St.Karlsburg. Situated at the base of these mountains upon a land suitable for agricultural cultivation, it is believed that Highlander settlers from Metterden settled the area circa 1570 as farmland. Due to the cold climate of the Northern lands, fertile land was in short supply, making Mondstadt highly valued. Once granted the land in 1573, Ruslan II Amador and his wife Abrielle Solari, raised a small Manor atop a small hill which overlooked the farmland, which over time became more and more fortified until the time of Owyn Amador, who increased the agricultural output of the land during his own tenure.

The Cultivation of Root Vegetables; Carrots, Potatoes & Beetroots were a common sight in the Highlander fields of the era, however the cultivation of Wheat and hay was significantly more difficult in the harsh tundra of the Northern reaches of Axios. Mondstadt was one of the few places able to produce grain, which spurred Owyn Amador to construct a windmill during his tenure, to turn the grain into bread for sale throughout the Kingdom of Haense.

Due to the cold climate, snow often fell in the winters, however the protection of the Greyspine mountains aided it in keeping the lower lands warmer and more pleasant to other lands in the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska; a fact that was used by the House of Barbanov once the Royal house reclaimed the land following the fall of the Imperium Sextus.
