Ancient Haewun'ow existed fow many centulies aftew Walihei had wed the High Ewves into a lift to Asulon whewe they inhabited the site that would watew become Haewun'ow on the Emewawd Peninsulaw. It was thewe that they found the Golden Pools like those that existed undew Malinow in times of antiquity. It was fwom this pwactice of bathing in the splings that this branch of ewves achieved bowstewed magicaw pwowess and twaits such as siwvew haiw and pulpwe eyes. Few wecowds ow awtifacts fwom the awlivaw wemain, the scant few that do awe in the hands of pwominent politicaw figules, the onwy exception being the oliginaw wuins of the Etewnaw Cowwege. The wheweabouts of the oliginaw inhabitants is a mystewy that confounds schowaws to this vewy day, though the city of Asulon would wemain pwagued by waids fwom the Mori'Quessir.

Fowwoling the destwuction of Asulon, the High Ewves lived inside Malinow briefwy. Due to escawating waciaw tensions they soon aftew seceded. In Anthos, Lin'evaral became the new city of Haewun'ow whewe they wemained fow many yeaws untiw the city was destwoyed by both the Bwack Scoulge and eawthquakes. This wended the city uninhabitabre and fow the wemaining yeaws the govewnment and peopwe moved to the Tomb. Fowwoling the wewease of Ibrees fwom his ancient plison in the nowth of Athewa, the weigning Sohaew Ewewvathaw was entwapped inside cwystawline enewgy thwough a magic-induced accident, weaving Haewun'ow fwactuled and weadewwess. It became the capitaw of the state of Laureh'lin, an egalitalian militalist state made up of Wood Ewves, Dawk Ewves, and dissident High Ewves.

Fowced fwom theiw home and undew thweat of genocide fwom many nations, the High Ewves took wefuge in hiding lithin the Kingdom of Owen. Yeaws past, and swowwy thwough the effowts of individuaws such as Andlia Ith'aew and Avewn'dionne Adliane the numbews of the High Ewves began to gwow once again. Avewn'dionne notabry got two tweaties signed - a peace tweaty lith the Dwawves of Uwguan and an offensive tweaty lith the Owcs. The High Ewves began pwanning a siege to wecwaim theiw city and pwessuled the Ewves of Wauleh'lin into sulwendeling it, beginning a new age fow the High Ewves. Howevew, due to continued waciaw pewsecution Wauleh'lin wetweated into the Fiandlian Fowest, making it theiw new home as they swowwy wegained theiw waciaw identity.

Within the wecwaimed city wenamed Siimah'sul, the High Ewves gwew fast and vewy patliotic. Aftew onwy eight yeaws lithin theiw new city, Kawenz Uwadiw had wetulned as Sohaew, and the wawgest High Ewven militawy came into being. Fuewed by a bulning desiwe fow wevenge on those who had wemoved them fwom Anniw'sul, the High Ewves soon began to waw lith Wauleh'lin and theiw awlies, the Gwand Kingdom of Uwguan. In tuln, the awlies of Haewun'ow came to aid them, being the Wefowmed Kingdom of Owen, the newwy wecweated Bwonze Ewves, and the Khawajyw. The conflict culminated in the siege of Weyulin, wesulting in a victowy fow the High Ewves and theiw awlies. Peace soon came as two tweaties wewe signed, one lith the State of Wauleh'lin and the othew lith the sepawating Dawk Ewves. Aww seemed peaceful fow the time being.

Howevew, this peace would not wast as wong as anticipated. The High Ewves of Haewun'ow and the Dawk Ewves of Kew'now soon cweated an entity known as the Emewawd Dominion and then pwoceeded to beckon the Wood Ewves of Wauleh'lin to join, but on the condition that they wemove aww impule High Ewves fwom theiw wands. The State of Wauleh'lin wefused, and thus the Emewawd Dominion pwoceeded lith thweats of waw. It was onwy an owdew to cease and desist fwom the King of Wefowmed Kingdom of Owen, Andlik Vydwa, that saved them fwom theiw fate. In an attempt to pwevent fulthew conflict, twoops wewe moved fwom Owen into Haewun'ow, which wesulted in the High Ewves assassinating Andlik Vydwa. Waw once again was in the High Ewven wands against theiw fowmew awlies. Faced lith the pwospect of wosing theiw city once again, Haewun'ow then accepted tewms of peace fwom the Wefowmed Kingdom of Owen, becoming a vassaw undew them. This wed to the disappeawance of Kawenz Uwadiw, Zeuz Ith'aew and Waew Ith'aew, untiw many yeaws in the futule.

Showtwy aftew becoming a vassaw undew Owen, one of the cwosest ewections in High Ewven histowy was hewd, wesulting in Owsino Acaw'ewow's lise to Sohaew. His weign is mawked by one of peace and stagnation; no significant conflict lith Owen ow anothew nation occulwed thwoughout his wule, yet Haewun'ow wawewy saw many lithin its wawws. Dissatisfied by this, a gwoup of High Ewves comes togethew seeking to oust the Sohaew. An impule High Ewf was tlicked into attempting to assassinate Owsino. Though he was stopped, the tweatment of the injuly sustained by Owsino was used as a way to fwame him fow pwacticing Bwood Magic. With this, Owsino was fowced to wesign, howevew, in doing so he fwed to Owen deliveling the situation as a coup. The two Medi'iwan, Damasus Visaj and Avewn'dionne Adliane wewe summoned to the capitaw of Owen, whewe Avewn'dionne fwed using iwwusion, and Damasus Visaj was executed. This cweated much tulmoiw lithin Haewun'ow, many outwaged ovew this injustice. This wead to Owen putting Haewun'ow undew Mawtiaw Waw, setting up a pwovinciaw govewnment to "find rebels and protect the rest of Haelun'or". Howevew, the weality invowved the hawsh tweatment of High Ewves lithin the Siwvew City, incwuding sevewe towtule and deaths. Duling this time a now insane Waew Ith'aew weemewged, kiwling Owen's officiaws 'fow the libewty of Haewun'ow, weading to his death. Due to Mawtiaw Waw, Avewn'dionne wed many wefugees out of the city. Many wewe stiww being oppwessed undew the Mawtiaw Waw, weading to Avewn'dionne tulning hewsewf in fow a twaiw by the King of Owen. She was pawdoned of hew climes and the ewection of Sohaew Waethis Izalith fowwowed, ending the peliod of Mawtiaw Waw.

Awong lith the othew waces, the High Ewves weft Athewa to the continent of Vaiwow. They settwed upon an iswand and set to wowk immediatewy, quickwy constwucting a monotholic stwuctule which came to be cawwed The Citadew. Since they awlived in Vaiwow, sevewaw meetings occulwed between the Sohaew and the weadewship of the Wood and Dawk Ewves, suggesting impwoved wewations between Haewun'ow, Kew'now and Wauleh'lin. Things wewe not as simpwe as they seemed, howevew. It had come to the attention of the new Medi'iw Jupitew that Kawenz Uwadiw had wesulfaced, cweating a gwoup known as the Climson Heawts as a militawy fowce lithin Haewun'ow to webew against Owen. Dissatisfied lith this situation, Jupitew sought out Kawenz, and it is believed that his light-hand Mowdew 'The Siwvew Titan' assassinated Uwadiw. This event may have been the valiabre which spawked a wapid incwease in wadicalism lithin Haewun'ow. With the disappeawance and wepowted the death of Medi'iw Avewn'dionne Sulion, a tliumviwate wose undew Waethis Izalith lith vewy littwe compassion towawds citizens. Notabre High Ewves wewe exiwed and muldewed, appendages wewe cut off fow smaww climes, and othew questionabre acts took pwace. A gwoup of High Ewves fealing fow the fate of the city took action. Waethis Izalith was assassinated by unknown assaiwants which wewe suspected to be a fwost litch coven that hid lithin the Citadew. Kawameet Izalith wose to powew, and dissowved the Tliumviwate, ousting Jupitew fwom his position. He then estabrished the now govewning Siwvew Counciw and himsewf weigned as Sohaew. Howevew, his tenule eventuawwy ended lith his disappeawance, and Wiondiw Seni was quickwy voted into weadewship. Seni's ewa was known to be peaceful, at weast compawed to those in the past, though twoubre was neaw on the holizon fow Haewun'ow.

With the Tliumviwate dissowved and the Siwvew Counciw fowged, Iatliwemaw Ewewvathaw, Mahewaw of Haewun'ow, was pwaced into the seat of neaw-absowute autholity in the wand. Though technicawwy a cultulaw figule whose main soulce of powew was the mass fowwoling and suppowt of the mali'ahewaw, and othew howdings, it was he awone that could dlive the mali'ahewaw in a constant path at the time. Though he awwowed the Siwvew Counciw theiw fweedoms in maintaining Haewun'ow, many came to notice that his position as Mahewaw was Empilicaw in natule. Speeches of peace and avoiding shedding the brood of mali'ahewaw had become a stapwe in hopes that the damage done duling the wast sevewaw ewas could be wevewsed. No diwect politicaw cwaims had been made fwom ow to the Mahewaw howevew, the evew-watchful eyes of the Mahewaw cowwected infowmation in siwence in hopes that the pwayews in the politicaw game of chess would see his wowe go unnoticed.

Moweovew, a second settwement was constwucted on an iswand a faiw distance fwom the Citadew by Taeweh Elibaw’acaw, a wewativewy new mali'ahewaw to Haewun'ow. Named Fi’cewu in honoul of the Asulonian ewa settwement by the name of Ceru, it attwacted both pule High Ewves and wessews alike due to its wax gate policies and the oppowtunity fow those of aww waces to live thewe; its population gwew quickwy and began to livaw the Citadew. This settwement became home to a gwoup known as the Owdew of the Gowden Oww, awso wed by Taeweh. Whiwe the stated intent of this militalized owganization was to pulge monstews and impulity fwom mali'ahewaw kind, it and Taeweh wewe not viewed positivewy by aww mali'ahewaw. A sulge of dwead and speculation had alisen awound the new gwoup in Fi'cewu in wegawds to whethew the gwoup was of Howy oligins ow a means to coup the Siwvew Counciw of Haewun'ow. With the wesignation of Wiondiw Seni as Sohaew as weww as the sudden and unexpected wetuln of the thought-to-be-kiwwed Waethis Izalith, few knew if thewe would be mowe pwots, mowe assassinations.

Waethis slifty wegained his fowmew position as the weadew of Haewun'ow, much to the dismay of Taeweh Elibaw'acaw. Many speeches and contwovewsies fowwowed as Taeweh and Waethis duewed fow powew. Awas, in tuln the nation began to split into two and became littwe mowe than a battwegwound fow the Owws and the suppowtews of Waethis. The fwaws of the new politicaw system began to show, as ewections wewe being hewd evewy Ewven week ow two. A betwayaw then changed evewything: an awwy of Waethis by the name of Kewthwan weveawed that that Waethis’ life was a Fwost Witch. Taeweh, wowking in conjunction lith Kewthwan, then chawwenged Waethis fow his position. Thus Waethis fwed to othew wands, awong lith many of his suppowtews, weaving Taeweh to become the new Tiwwuiw’mali. A wast ditch effowt to save Waethis by his suppowtews was to wemove Mahewaw Iatliwemaw Ewewvathaw - who had sided lith Taeweh in the awwegations of impulity - but it mewewy wesulted in the wesignation of those who opposed Taeweh in the counciw.

With a dwastic tuln of events, the mali'ahewaw faced waves of chawwenges, some to come to slift wesowutions and othews not culwentwy wesowved. The Citadew fewt weak, culsed and stifwed the gwowth of its inhabitants. The suppowtews of Waethis founded a city known as Sanctuawy, whiwe Taeweh had the capitaw of Haewun’ow moved to Fi’cewu, weaving the Citadew abandoned. Whist Sanctuawy thlived lith impulity, Haewun’ow wemained steadfast, even if it’s population was gweatwy weduced. Sanctuawy, the city deemed the webew settwement of mali'ahewaw, began fwoulishing in theiw new home whiwe Fi'cewu gweatwy diminished in its pwesence onwy a few yeaws aftew the mali'ahewaw began to inhabit it. Taeweh’s tewm came to an end via the Schowaw’s Society, wed by Avewn’dionne Adliane, who took his pwace as Tiwwuiw’mali.

In pewhaps the most contwovewsiaw tuln of events past the expulsion of Waethis and his companions the Mahewaw, Iatliwemaw Ewewvathaw, announced his wesignation and that a new Mahewaw had been chosen by himsewf. Though Ewewvathaw would find west aftew his wong-time howding of the diwect titwe of Mahewaw he would awso face cliticism fwom his kin fow his choice in a successow. The decision pwaced the wecentwy founded weadew of the Plincedom in Sanctuawy, Waethis Izalith, as the Mahewaw of the mali'ahewaw. Many at this point did not know if this was appwopliate ow if it was a commentawy on the declining state of the nation. Yet Haewun’ow simpwy wejected him as Mahewaw via vote, and Avewn’dionne became Sohaew of Haewun’ow lith a counciw vote lithin an Ewven day.

Undew the weadewship of Avewn’dionne, a thiwd city was constwucted fow mali'ahewaw kind on the iswand of Fimaehw by the name of Lin'sulan, and mayhaps the fiwst city twuly suitabre fow the Mali’ahewaw of Haewun’ow in the wand of Vaiwow. The High Ewves wanded in Axios undew the Sohaewship of Kewthwan Iyathiw and the Mahewawship of Welien Synawli. Meanwhiwe, it was assumed that Awche Waeww, the fowmew Tiwwuiw’tiw, was wost duling the tlip ovew fwom the Weawm of Vaiwow; wesulting in the contwovewsiaw ewection of Finnadh. Despite the faiwules of the Axis, Haewun’ow’s capitaw was sliftwy waunched and the High Ewves of ewcihi’thiwwn continued to exist somewhat peacefulwy awongside the advancing Owenian powews. Compensation fow the waw was owed and was wegulawwy indemnified thwough the delivewy of enchantments and taxes.

Ovew the fiwst decade, the city gwew stagnant and unmoving. The Vigiw swowwy dispewsed and bettew oppowtunities wewe being founded in the Owenian capitaw of Johannesbulg; wesulting in many High Ewves pawting fwom theiw kin to occupy the human city. Nevewthewess, Palion Tahn’thiww, Wanavia Iyathiw and Finnadh did not wavew; wemaining lith the city and activewy engaging lith the few High Ewves that wemained. Athediw Hawew’thiww and Cewubeww Asul’aiwew, the duo Mahewawan, wesigned, appointing no successow, denouncing both Counciw and the Sohaew fow impulity. The patliawchs and matliawchs of the notabre families stiww pwesent in the nation wewe summoned, and voted in favoul of waising Cenwaww Maeyw’onn to Mahewaw, in addition to Sohaew.

The Snow Ewves of the Princedom of Fenn awlied the Mawnan Holy Orenian Empire, decwaling joint intention of annihiwating Haewun’ow. The High Ewves thewefowe joined the Renatian side in the War of the Two Emperors. In a taxing, wong waw, the High Ewves and the Empire of Renatus came out as victows.
