The Fall of Aegis occurred in 1351 when many men and women fought side by side, for one last effort against Iblees. After the Fall of Al'Khazar, the Fall of the North, the Fall of Alras, the tainting of New Terriko and Galahar and the Fall of Kal'Urguan, there was little left in Aegis for the Descendent races. In one last assault on the Undead Champions from each nation were chosen to enter the portal in Laurelin and storm the Nether. The invasion was successful and the Undead were sealed inside, but at a terrible cost. The loss of his army enraged Iblees and he emerged to attack and destroy the Cloud Temple of Aegis, using many undead minions and Dragons as well. Laurelin burned and all of Aegis was left in ruins. With that, the survivors fled through the Verge to sail off to Asulon.

The Deep Cold, 1351

"The miasma in the north lingered ever more so. Galahar was evacuated and the cloud temple became our final stand. From the temple I shouted out into the crowds, summoning those who where chosen by the Nations as their champions. Upon arriving to Laurelin, I called all of the champions into Dawns Bakery, where a secret entrance lay.

The High Priestess handed out blessed armor pieced, enchanted in Aeriel's grace. To each of the champions. We then took a small passage, into what was once the Laurelin Gauntlet. Entombed in a massive oak tree, lay Vardak's portal from the nether.

The champions gaze into the portal and grip the hilts of their weapons tightly.

I step out of the way of the portal, clench my soulstone in my hand tightly and wish them good luck. As I vanish the brave few entered head first."
