Dark Dwarves were originally born from the unlikely union of dark elves and the various dwarven sub-races. The youngest of the Dwarven subraces, '''Dark Dwarves''' were said to be originally born from the unlikely union of dark elves and the various dwarven subraces. The validity of this claim is unknown, as modern hybrids of dwarves and Dark Elves do not feature the traits of the Dark Dwarves. However, it will likely remain in the realm of mythos. They have a dark skin coloration, similar to that of the Cave Dwarves. However, this is offset by otherwise glowing and vibrant eyes. To fit with their supposed elven ancestry, the Dark Dwarves often pursue the arcane, the mysterious, and the alchemical. This is far from universal, but the Dark Dwarves are certainly the most baseline mystical out of the dwedmar subraces.

Forest dwarfs develop in the same rate as humans do, but they tend to live up to 900 years more than humans, sometimes even longer than that depending on the dwarf. Before dwarfs live through their first 100 years, they are often referred to as Beardlings, though this may differ from the achievements of a dwarf in young age or if the dwarf is new to the community (In which case, a dwarf may be 300 years old but he could still be referred to as a beardling by some dwarfs that may be even younger than him) Although they live for centuries, you can’t find a elder dwarf in every corner. Many dwarfs die due to mining accidents or during his work, but this is a less common case with the Forest dwarves due to their area of living. It is also important to note that after 600 years, a dwarf may start feeling weak under the pressure of his years, making him less capable with physical work. This of course, does not weaken his mind, but rather makes it sharper.

The eyes of the Dark Dwarves are both unique and distinct. They all have fiery eyes ranging from the shades of bright flames to as dark as cooling magma. These eyes glow effortlessly and normally for the Dark Dwarves, from birth to death. Though their eyes radiate a slight glow, nothing else is special about them and they lose their glow as soon as the dwarf dies. The exact span of colors is undefined, but the majority are fiery and magma colored. Others are cooler and dark like obsidian.

The Dark Dwarf height range is '''4’0"''' - '''5'0" ft'''. The Dark Dwarves are among the tallest of the Dwarven subraces. As such, the average range of height for the Cave Dwarves is on a taller spectrum. This range encompasses most all Dark Dwarves, with a few exceptions. To be above this range is virtually impossible given that it’s the upper cap of Dwarven height. Additionally, being below the 4’0” height minimum would be very unusual and strangely built for a Dark Dwarf.

Ibless had not only cursed sons of Urguan by turning them into a short, stout, and an ugly race, but has also enhanced their greed, which has costed them many precious lives and relics. Luckily, the Creator has blessed the dwed with a strong heart, and a sturdy body, and a sharp mind. This blessing has turned dwarfs into a proud and a resistant race that has lasted centuries.

The youngest of the Dwarven subraces, Dark Dwarves were said to be originally born from the unlikely union of dark elves and the various dwarven subraces.

Physical Attributes

Skin Coloration

All Dark Dwarves have skin color ranging from ashen grey to almost obsidian-black. This is said, again, to be traceable back to their supposed Dark Elf ancestry. This skin coloration is similar to that of the Cave Dwarves, with two noticeable differences. First, the Dark Dwarves are capable of even darker colors than the Cave Dwarves, with near pitch-black skin possible. Second, the Dark Dwarves are capable of having tinges of coloration to their skin, similar to the Dark Elves but dissimilar to the Cave Dwarves.

Hair Coloration

The hair colors of the Dark Dwarves vary greatly. Many have simple darker colored hair, such as black or brown. However, more vibrant colors are both possible and common. Such colors include white, red, and even pale blonde.

Eye Coloration

The eyes of the Dark Dwarves are both unique and distinct. They all have fiery eyes ranging from the shades of bright flames to as dark as cooling magma. These eyes glow effortlessly and normally for the Dark Dwarves, from birth to death. Though their eyes radiate a slight glow, nothing else is special about them and they lose their glow as soon as the dwarf dies. The exact span of colors is undefined, but the majority are fiery and magma colored. Others are cooler and dark like obsidian.

Height

The Dark Dwarf height range is 4’0" - 5'0" ft.

Other Attributes

Much like with other dwarves, mountain accent is often an for other races to understand, even if they are talking in common. They are usually unable to fully say the letter -h in words and tend to sound like a person with a Scottish accent. It may seem difficult to understand a dwarf at first, but it is just slightly modified Common tongue.

Culture

Dark Dwarf culture is unlike any other Halfbreed culture in the sense that the magma forged kin adopted the culture of the Derva, or the "Uncursed" and continue both their traditions, craftsmanship and legacy. The Dark Dwarf culture is not to be confused with the culture of the Doom forged, as they are two different cultures entirely.

Religion

Dark Dwarves generally adhere to the worship of the Brathmordakin, though the Doomforged also revere the Flesh-smith, Dormmar. Not much is known about Dormmar, and the Doomforged are not likely to discuss his legacy anytime soon. His worship, however, has been controversial in the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. After many decades of forbidden, hidden worship, the fall of Urguan and the rise of the Kingdom of Kaz'Ulrah allowed Dormmar's adherents to openly worship once more, as the newly crowned and dominant Frostbeard clan worships the similarly controversial Wyrvun.

History

Dark Dwarves appeared through the inter-mingling of Dark Elves and dwarves over the ages. The most famous of them, the Doomforged, were three children of the Paragon Urir Ireheart.

Cities

Dark Dwarves shared their cities with the rest of the Khazadmar in the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, and lay similarly scattered afer the War of the Beards.
