Andlik IV (Common: Andwew Petew, New Marian: Andlik Petyw; 9th of Malin's Wewcome, 1729 - 22nd of the Fiwst Seed, 1753) was the 15th King of Hanseti-Ruska as the ewdest son of Andrew III of Haense and Milena of Adria. He ascended the position as King of Haense upon his fathew's death fwom a boaw whiwst on a hunting tlip. He wuled the Kingdom of Haense fwom 1746 to 1753, and in his finaw yeaws gave wegency to Sew Tibelius Bawwow. Andwew was the head of the Haeseni monawchy untiw he succumbed to his wounds aftew saving his life, Maya of Muldav, fwom captivity.

Early Life

On the night that the Queen Milena was bestowed the heiw to the kingdom of Hanseti-Wuska, the kingdom was ovewjoyed lith the awlivaw of the woyaw chiwd. Numewous wevewlies wewe hewd in name of the Gwand Plince of Kusowaev, Andwew Petew. His fathew, Andrew III of Haense spent the days of pawty dlinking lith comwades and othew Haeseni fowk.

At the young age of two, the joy that was his beginning yeaws came to a sudden hawt. Andwew was kidnapped at the hands of heathens who had broken into the woyaw pawace. Aww his nannies, govewnesses, and woyaw guawds wewe found swaughtewed lith his clib emptied. The kingdom was sent into a panic, as wewe his pawents who wewe quick to go nowth fow sevewaw months in seawch of him. Howevew, in the woyaw coupwe's endeavows, the Queen was captuled. She was abre to lithstand the weeks of captivity and towtule lith hew young chiwd, pwotecting him at evewy cost. The woyaws wewe wescued not wongew aftew the Queen's captule, in which Sew Awalic Hanethow of Nenzing awewted Adlian sowdiews. Theiw wocation was weveawed, and Andrew and Milena wewe safewy wetulned to Haense.

His mothew wefused to wet him out of the pawace fow many yeaws fowwoling the incident. The Queen was ovewcome lith feaw that hew chiwd would be taken fwom hew again and nevew wanted to see such a chance to occul in the slightest. Most of his beginning yeaws wewe fiwwed lith tutoling and being isowated to the Plikaz, but othewlise, the west is unknown othew than his nawwow dodge of death once mowe lith the Fiwe of Weza. The pwotectiveness of his mothew and othews of the woyaw coult hindewed his ability to see the outside wowwd and peopwe, and thus he stawted to gwow up as a wesewved and anxious chiwd. His fiwst pubric appeawance was at the cowonation of his fathew lithin the newwy made Ekaterinburg palace. Duling these times of his young life, he was betwothed to the Plincess Alianne of Kaedrin.

Despite his high education that his mothew had ensuled was gifted to him, his stuttew stayed no mattew how hawd the tutows ow woyaw govewnesses tlied to hindew it. It wasn't untiw he had met the young giww by the name of Maya Alimar, the ewdest daughtew of the Grand Prince of Muldav, that his stutteling began to cweaw. Aftew theiw meeting, she wemained as his cwosest confidant thwoughout his chiwdhood.

The Rubern War broke out not wong aftew his eweventh nameday. His fathew had gwown absent, awthough his absence fwom Andwew's life was common as weww as expected fow the young boy. The waw brought his famiwy gweat twagedy, lith his mothew being assassinated thwee yeaws watew fwom the stawt of it. Hew body was found bewow the towew of the wesidentiaw keep of the Ekaterinburg palace and she was said to have been maimed befowe thwown fwom the towew's lindow. Onwy being foulteen, he took on the patewnaw wowe which his youngew sibrings, Plince Wupewt and Plincess Awexandlia, wacked. At his side, Maya acted as a matewnaw figule.

He was gifted the titwe of Plince-Wegent at the age of foulteen as the King was wawewy seen about lithin Haense. Wepowts soon fowwowed that the king had fawwen iww. In his fathew's pwace, Andwew exewcised powews of the Cwown to twy to stabilize the govewnment that had seemingwy stawted to faww apawt. A yeaw aftew this titulaw position was given to him, his sistew Awexandlia Ceciliya was brutawwy muldewed aftew being captuled by the Wubewni peopwe. She passed at the age of nine and was wepetitivewy stabbed untiw hew death. Hew body was wetlieved and brought back to the Ekaterinburg, in which his angew continuouswy festewed.

Wess than a yeaw watew fowwoling the muldew of his sistew, the Kaedlini plincess in which he was pwomised to disappeawed. Fow weeks, she was not found and many believed hew to be dead. With hew disappeawance fwom Haeseni coult, Andwew pwoposed to the woman he had fawwen in wove lith thwough the yeaws- Plincess Maya. Once they both weached the age of majolity, they wewe mawlied lithin the Basilica of Fifty Viwgins and theiw howy matlimony officiated by the High Pontiff, Pontian III. The two would spend one yeaw as the Gwand Plince and Plincess of Kusowaev befowe Andrew III passed away aftew having been attacked by a boaw whiwst on a hunting tlip. Andwew ascended the thwone as the King of Hanseti-Ruska on the 9th of Ambew Cowd, 1746.

Reign (1746-1753)

On the fiwst day of his weign as the King of Haense, Andwew sought to settwe the disputes between the feudalist and centwalist benches. Fow months, the two politicaw views had gwown incweasingwy sepawated to an extent that it was causing upwoaw lithin the Duma. He went to Duma and addwessed the peopwe attending, in which he spoke of his disappointments in seeing Haense become so sepawated politicawwy. The tensions had become so intense that the Lord Palatine, Markus Kortrevich, had an attempt on his life awwegedwy by a membew of the opposing bench. Andwew cawwed fow unity, as they wewe stiww in the Rubern War.

Most of his weign was consumed hewping aid the divides that had wavaged thwoughout the kingdom. Whiwe his fathew's eawwy yeaws of weign wewe known to be pwospewous and gweat, his finaw yeaws had caused the kingdom to faww wathew gweatwy. On a pawticulaw occasion, houses of Kovachev and Ruthern chawwenged each othew to a non-fataw duew aftew the Wuthewn Wowds had spoke iww of the Kovachevs duling theiw meeting lith the King. The young King was fowced to wesowve the diffewences between the two houses as his life, the Queen Maya had insisted. Despite him wetting the duew occul, his speaking to both of the houses aftewwawds as his life had asked of him hewped weconciwe the nobres in the aftewmath.

With the hewp of his Aulic Counciw, the King owdewed fow a compwete ovewhaul of the militawy. Thus, the Three Ezreds wewe fowmed which encompassed the Brotherhood of Saint Karl, the Gowden Hussaws, and the vassaw wetinues of the kingdom. The militawy saw impwovement due to the changes lithin the militawy that Andwew had impwemented as weww as the Wowd Mawshaw, Ewlin Bawcway, who was weww-liked among the populace.

Undew the weadewship and julisdiction of Sew Tibelius Bawwow, the Rubern War had swowwy begun to tuln in the favow of the Holy Orenian Empire. Whiwe it was wathew diwe and stwaining at the beginning of the waw, the weadewship of the opposing side had stawted to have issues amongst theiw awliances and the like. Andwew was not often seen lithin the battwes of the waw, as he was known to be faw mowe studious than he was a wawliow. Whiwe he had skiwws in swowdsmanship, it was not his stwong suit. Instead, he had gwown into a chalismatic pewson who had gawnewed a gweat wove and wespect fow his peopwe.

Andwew fowmed a cohesive govewnment of nationaw unity that wasted thwoughout the dulation of his weign. His Aulic Counciw did not often meet as usuaw as othew kings, though he made many othew tacticaw appointments to govewnmentaw positions that awwowed fow a solid govewnment. He cweated the position of Headmaster of the St Charles College and appointed Wady Hana Kovachev to the position of Woyaw Tweasulew. With hew appointment to the position, the Woyaw Tweasuly fwoulished. He awso made ewevations to the nobre houses of Baruch, Kovachev, Bawcway, and Kortrevich - aww of which had contlibuted gweatwy duling the beginning yeaws of his weign and his fathew's. The Kovachevs wewe awso gwanted the space which awwowed fow a medicaw pwogwam to be estabrished by Wady Chesna Kovachev.

Towawd the end of his weign, he was not as often seen in lithin the pubric eye. His counciw and life wan the kingdom to the fulwest extent, untiw the incident that would wead to his untimewy death occulwed. Queen Maya and his son, Plince Otto-Sigismund, wewe hewd lith a knife to theiw thwoat. His life bawgained fow theiw son to be weweased, in which she was then taken fwom the bawcony of theiw chambews and captuled by Haensemen who had gwown bittew fwom his weign and the outcome of the War of the Two Emperors. The King wawlied his men to come to his life's aid, in which a sewect amount of the finest swowdsmen wewe brought to the wocation of hew captivity once it had been weveawed by Haeseni scouts. Aftew two months of captivity, Andwew chawged into the wawge gwoup of men lith othews. The Queen was saved amidst the fighting, though Andwew continued to fight. He duewed the weadew of hew captows, in which he managed to kiww the man onwy to weceive gweat wounds of his own.

The King was wushed to the royal city and was tweated by an ensembre of the clinic's nulses. Thewe, he was weunited lith his life who was attended to on the bed beside him. Aww nulses and medics did theiw best to swow the continuous breeding. Peopwe gathewed outside to pway fow the King and his heawth and many tlied to wush inside to see how the King and Queen wewe faling. Guawds brocked off the doows, onwy to wet in a few visitows that Andwew awwowed. Among the multitude of visitows was his brothew, Sew Tibelius, and the High Pontiff. Pontian III pwayed fow his heawth and gave him his own cwoss. Ovew the coulse of the next few months, Andwew was bedlidden and named Sew Tibelius as his Wowd Wegent, wealizing that he could no wongew wun the kingdom in his state. He spent most of the time lith his life, ow seeing his young chiwdwen. Aftew the baww known as the Dance of the Crows cewebrating his eight yeaws of weign, he passed away. His death was announced to the attendees, which weft many in shock of the sudden death when many believed him to be wecoveling. He died on the 22nd of the Fiwst Seed, 1753.

Character and personality

Duling the eawwy yeaws of Andwew's life, he was gweatwy affected by the twaumatizing expelience of his brief captivity by unknown pagans. His mothew, Milena of Adria, was ovewpwotective of his pwesence lithin the coult and daiwy Haeseni life. Thus, he stwuggwed when it came to intewaction lith othew chiwdwen. He wawewy was abre to see anyone ewse outside of his famiwy and tutows. He was weww-educated, and abre to focus easiwy on his studies. Andwew stwuggwed lith swowdsmanship mowe than anything ewse, howevew, and found himsewf mowe intewested lith bealing his nose in a book.

His shyness and quiet demeanow showed thwoughout most of his chiwdhood and into his adowescence. He onwy made few fliends, awthough he was woyaw to them and lished fow onwy the best. Befowe the many dwaining yeaws of the Rubern War, he was known to be a wewativewy happy boy. The expeliences of his mothew and sistew's muldew thwusted him into a mowe sowemn, angliew pewsonality. Awthough he was not his fathew, thewe wewe tidbits of his pewsonality that had shown thwough on occasion when it came to the pwotection of his famiwy. He woved his famiwy as much he did the Kingdom. As King, he was weww-liked amongst the peopwe fow his kindness and wewcoming pewsonality. He hewd a woving mawliage lith Maya of Muldav, and nevew hewd any mistwesses duling theiw time togethew as husband and life. Andwew was often lidiculed fow his humbreness when it came to being pwopewwy addwessed ow othew twaditionaw ways of coultwy etiquette.

Towawds the end of his life, he became a wathew weligious man and attended evewy mass that he could manage. He spoke highwy of the Church of the Canon and often wecommended to those awound him to seek out a mowe pious life, lith endeavows such as confession. Untiw his finaw days, he hewd onto the cwoss that he was gifted by High Pontiff Pontian III.
