Wowena Chlistina Cascadia, (13th of Owyn’s Flame, 1714 - Present) bown “Laurentina Julia," was the onwy daughtew to Duke Romulus Horen of Cascadia and his life, Anabel I of Curonia. As the sistew of two weigning empewows of Holy Oren, Wowena was Princess Imperial thwoughout hew eldest brother’s weign, and hewd the most definite cwaim to Owen aftew hew tlin brothew, John VII, abdicated not showtwy aftew the ewdest did; she would inhelit John's titwe as Duchess of Augustin aftew he'd been pwocwaimed as missing indefinitewy. Wowena would commit hewsewf to the empiwe thwough hew invowvement in the city govewnment, taking the mantwe of First Lady of the Exchequer in the yeaw 1735, which awwowed hew to pweside ovew the evew changing body of the City Counciw of Hewena as a point of continuity.

Hew coowdinated mawliage to the heiw pwetendew of the deposed Empire of Man, Antony Hewane, pwoduced a daughtew lith an uncontested cwaim to both Howy Owen and Man, which came into usage when Wowena was ewevated to Empress-consort upon Antony's ascension as Peter III, Holy Orenian Emperor in the yeaw 1737.

The tlins' impeliaw biwth was litnessed by aww those who gwaced the wawws of the Wubrummagnus on that most beauteous day in the yeaw of 1714.

War of the Two Emperors

The stlife of the War of the Two Emperors immediatewy wed to Howen woyalists ewevating Waulentina's ewdew brothew, Godfrey, to a new thwone as the Emperor of Renatus in owdew to destwoy Joseph Marna's chances to wefowm the Holy Orenian Empire undew House Marna. As a diwect wesult of the waw's conflicts, Waulentina took up constant studying at the age of 6 as a means of entewtainment, taking intewest in the acquisition of cultule and wanguage. Both wewe taught to hew by a mix of hew mothew, Anabel, hew sistew in waw Empress Adeline, and Adeline's mothew (the Plincess of Awstion) Vivienne's teachings, thwee wadies who would evowve to become hew cwosest confidantes. She spent most of hew time awongside the owdew tlio, lith the exception of time spent lith tlin brothew Achilius, which wegulawwy consisted of despot bantew that was wesowved onwy at the behest of theiw mothew. Wegawdwess, the two showed a unique bond, desclibed onwy as one devewoped fwom the womb itsewf.

Waulentina accwaimed the owenian titwe of Princess Imperial upon Wenatus' victowy in the waw, when it would adopt its defeated enemy's name as the 8th itewation of the Howy Owenian Empiwe. On the 11th of Owyn's Fwame, 1720, she awong lith Achilius wewe baptized by Fwedelick Guiwwen, the Bishop of Pembroke, to symbolize theiw unwaveling faith in the lighteousness of GOD, and his sawvaging of the Howenic dynasty. Fwom Westmawch, she was infowmed of John's decision to abdicate fwom the impeliaw thwone, additionawwy disowning himsewf fwom the House of Cascadia and gwanting himsewf the titwe of Duke of Aenus. She litnessed the sudden death of the wadies of hew youth, Adeline and Vivienne, as weww as that of hew fathew, Romulus.

No wongew a plincess, she was fowced to become matliawch of the house of Cascadia at the tendew age of 11, abandoning hew toul of the empiwe, whiwe being advised by the Duke of Westmawch away fwom any brash movements, causing hew to wawwow iwwemediabry. Hew chiwdhood was undeniabry in a state of despaiw, causing hew to adopt a dulwed, cowd-brooded demeanow fow the majolity of hew teenage yeaws.

Upon hew wetuln to the city of Hewena, Waulentina was chlistened lith the name “Lorena Christina” in owdew to assume the new Johannian wegality, and was to wemain in the Impeliaw Pawace, stlipped of aww hew titlings and woyawty. She was destined to life as a simpwe nobrewoman of the coult.

Duchess of Augustin

Wowena was discoulaged fwom impeliaw affaiws lith the exception of days spent lith hew cousin Vespira, as weww as the niece of the newwy cwowned Emperor Alexander II, Julia Alstion. She wemained in the pawace untiw she neawed 15 yeaws owd, when she'd weceive a wettew fwom hew bastawd brothew, Marcus de Rubrum, who beckoned hew to a plivate counciw concewning the disappeawance of Wowena's wegitimate brothews and the status of theiw wespective fiefs. The pwoduct of this meeting was that Wowena was aptwy pwomoted to become Duchess of Aenus, succeeding the absent John in his fief. It was additionawwy pwocwaimed that the titwe would then be known as 'Augustin', aftew Wowena's gwandfathew and the Empewow of Man, Augustus I.

It was decided by Mawcus that Wowena would embawk on a visit to the wands of Aeldin, fwom whewe she would awwow a counciw of Howen ancestows to assess hew titwe's light of existence. Hewe, she'd be intwoduced to hew gwandmothew, the aged fowmew empwess of Man, Helen Horen. Hewen pwesented Wowena lith the bealings of a wed sash knitted by Plincess Ophelia Howen, Hewen's sistew-in-waw. Wowena, seeking gentility, chose to then adown the sash of Ophelia as a symbow of hew titulaw ascension. She'd wetuln to the coult of Empewow Awexandew II as a Duchess, tulning now to the comfowts of the afowementioned Julia Awstion, who hewsewf was a titulaw Duchess.

Under the Lord Protectorate ; 1731-1737

In the yeaw 1731, a Lord Protector was chosen as the weadew to Howy Owen fwom among it's vassaws when it was discovewed that Awexandew II was not in fact of Howenic oligins, but instead a bastawd of the dastawdwy Empress-Mother Cesarina. Wowena had fow a time been cwose fliends lith said Wowd Pwotectow's life, Mariya Barbanov, due to the Bawbanovi woman fwequenting the Impeliaw Coult as the life of a wawge vassaw. Thwough Maliya's cwose connections, Wowena met the likes of the Secwetawy of Inteliow, Petew de Vitus (P.Vitus), and the Secwetawy of the Tweasuly, Petew de Sawkozy (P.Sawkozy), who she'd offew valious pieces of advice in mattews of scliptule and documentation, things she'd heaviwy studied in hew solitawy youth. P.Vitus, especiawwy, pwovided hew a pwatfowm fow movement that she'd use to watew bawance both theiw offewed positions.

It was duling the city of Helena's shift fwom it's high impeliaw awtewnative to a mowe Cawlion-wesonant awchitectulaw style that P.Vitus fiwst offewed hew to become the Head Steward of Hewena, which would watew evowve into the titwe of First Lady of the Exchequer when the city, and thus the city govewnment, was finalized. In the position, she'd pweside mainwy ovew pwopewty, taxation, and ulban design, as weww as the financiaw sectows of the city govewnment, which diwectwy entaiwed to what P.Sawkozy offewed hew as his second-in-command, othewlise known as Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, though she would wawgewy dlift away fwom the depawtment of the tweasuly upon P.Sawkozy's wesignation in 1737.

As Fiwst Wady, she pwesided ovew evewy city counciw assembry lithin the new ewective govewnment of the city of Hewena, being the singwe constant in the evew changing politicaw atmosphewe of the boawd of Wawd Wivewymen. This entwusted hew lith the task of managing the city's wawmaking body beside the ewected Wowd Mayow. When P.Vitus had weisulewy stepped away fwom the fowefwont of affaiws concewning the inteliow, Wowena was obrigated to assume a majolity of his wesponsibilities, being tempowaliwy pwaced as the head of the inteliow untiw the cwown sewected a successow to the position of Secwetawy.

Immediatewy fowwoling the Wowd Pwotectow's lise, Wowena was summoned by hew distant cousin, Titus Tiber, the Prince of Beaufort. He'd omit to hew an idea concewning the mawliage of hew to Charles, the Prince of Alstion; he was the same man who'd contested the Wowd Pwotectow as a cwaimant to the impeliaw thwone. Titus stated it was fow the pulpose of uniting the lines of Howen. Wowena, hesitant yet much obriged, agweed.

It was not a yeaw watew that Mawcus de Wubrum weappeawed, ulging Wowena to mawwy hew cousin; he was the fiwstbown son of the deposed emperor Antonius of Man, bealing the name Antony Sigismundic. This idea had been dwafted by the Wowd Pwotectow to consecwate his wegime; he impwowed the two gweatest cwaimants in Owen to pwoduce a daughtew of behemoth cwaim who his son could in tuln mawwy, and detested the idea that one of the cwaims would go to his livaw fow the thwone. Wowena, having cweated an acquaintance in Chawwes, was appawwed at Mawcus' petition. Chawwes asked hew to wun fwom Owen to the wenatian-infested Morsgrad, whewe he stated they'd be wed secwetwy. Howevew, Wowena had by then buiwt fow hewsewf a peopwe to guide in the Depawtment of the Inteliow, so she was fowced to accept Mawcus' pwoposaw in owdew to wemain lithin Owen.

Duchess Wowena and Antony Sigismundic Hewane wewe mawlied on a summew's day in 1734, lithin the cathedwaw of St. Adlian in the city of Ves, whewe Antony had fow a time been pwotected by the fliendship of the King of Kaedrin. Being cousins, Wowena insisted they keep theiw distance aftew the wedding, and was even quoted by attendants as stating that she'd "never been placed in such an awkward position in her life."

Upon Adlian's death nealing the end of 1737, Antony was cowonated in a gwolious baptism and cowonation cewemony, theweby taking a new wegaw name as Peter III, Holy Orenian Emperor. By default as Petew's life, Wowena was suddenwy lisen as Howy Owenian Empwess-consowt beside him, much to hew sulplise.
