The Renatus Holy Lands, otherwise known as the Holy Lands are a naturally formed Archipelago of three islands largest islands that straddled the Heartlands to the West, the the snow-covered lands of the Hanseti to the South and the Open Ocean to the East. Dividing a sea between the Human realms and the open ocean via a single strait, the location became one of great interest to the Kingdom of Renatus & the Kingdom of Salvus in the early years of Asulon. It would later come under the control of Duke Jack of the Holy Lands, Founder of the House of Amador, via a Pontifical Decree after the wily adventurer claimed the Archipelago after the Battle of the Lone Island. It would later become a Major Naval Port for the First Holy Orenian Empire under Godfrey I, Exalted Holy Orenian Emperor, used to create many ships that would later ferry the Imperial Population to Elysium.

Geography

Crestfall

The Largest of the three islands, which would become known as Crestfall sat on the shoreline of what was a predominantly hilly and forested island, with its main exports having been from mines on the island & from the lumber collected from the neighbouring woodlands. Crestfall imported some food from the west, but most of the population lived off of cattle reared on the lands, fish from the sea and ocean, or from root vegetables. The Northern side of the Isle was where the settlement of Ceru sat, considered a de facto district of the wider Port City when the two polities merged.

Tarrel

Tarrel was a rocky outcrop that rested just beyond the strait that connected the sea to the ocean, guarding it from unfriendly vessels. It's geography made it ill-suited to any economic pursuits. The ground was incredibly rocky and did not support the cultivation of plants or the raising of cattle, however a little mine was established. It was a fortified island that lay to the North of Ceru, conquered during the Battle of the Lone Island by Jack Amador, Ser Jon Norsem of House Norsem was enfeoffed with the Island and made its titular Baron.

The Holy Island

At the time of its discovery, the Holy Island was a snow-covered land that sat to the east of its much larger sister of Crestfall. Much like it's much larger sister-island, it was relatively wooded and rough environment, which did not support more than a small village, under the control of the House Fire-eyes. Whilst not very economically productive, it did become a site of pilgrimage for followers of the Church of the True Faith, with revenues coming in from pilgrims using taverns and inns.

Sea-Bound Desert

To the south was an inhospitable area known as the Sea-Bound Desert, a strange wonder of the world of Asulon, best described as a Sand-sea, filled with quicksand that stretched the Crestfall Isle to the South and the snow-covered lands of the Hanseti. Due to the nature of this southern area of the island, it could not be settled by Humans, nor could it be traversed through by ships, making the northern strait the only way in or out.
