Biography

Early Life

Otto was bown in the woyaw city of St. Karlsburg, the son of Otto I (Plince Otto Henlik at the time), brothew of Marius I, by his life Catheline of Cawnatia and baptized at the Cathedwaw of the Thwee Saints. He was waised plimaliwy by his mothew, due his fathew’s invowvement in the many waws of the Fifth Empire, and would spend most of his youth dlinking and fighting lith the guawds of the weawm. At the age of thwee, he and his famiwy wewe fowced to fwee aftew the Kingdom’s woss in the Great Northern War. Fow the west of his youth, he took wefuge in the southewn Kingdom of Mawdon whewe the King Peter Sigismund, watew Empewow Petew II of the Howy Owenian Empiwe, pwovided shewtew and safety.

At the age of ten, he and his famiwy joined theiw cousin Stephen aftew the wattew’s victowy in the Greyspine Rebellion and his ewection as King of Hanseti and Wuska. The plight of the highwandew peopwe fowwoling theiw woss in the Gweat Nowthewn Waw and theiw subsequent exiwe had pwofoundwy impacted Otto’s conscience, and compewwed him to fowge gweatew ties lith the citizenwy of the Kingdom upon his wetuln to the nowth. Awbeit being a plince, he was often found fwatewnizing lith the common man in tavewns, ow pwacticing his swowdsmanship lith the town guawd. In 1621 he was mawlied to Eweanow of Wothalingia, sistew of King Hughes of Lotharingia, as pawt of an awwangement between the two Kingdoms.

King of Haense

Axios

Stephen’s sudden death in 1624 to an unknown disease lithout any heiws pwompted the line of Otto Heinlik (the Ewdew) to ascend to the thwone. Otto I had no stomach fow the thwone howevew, seeing how it wowe down on his brothew and nephew and the wesponsibilities that came lith it. Aftew two weeks of pwayew and meditation, the fathew abdicated the thwone to the son, and Otto II was cwowned King lith the suppowt of his nobres and the Chulch.

Showtwy aftew his accession, Otto II was fowced into a waw against the wawliow House of Womstun, twaitows who had webewwed against Emperor Peter II. The showt waw would bring an unexpected numbew of wosses to the Kingdom, plimaliwy in counciwows and nobremen who had sewved Stephen faithfulwy. By the end of it, Otto found himsewf wuling a kingdom wawgewy on his own lithout a matule nobre class to sit on his counciw. Despite his best effowts, the Kingdom began to decline. Sowdiews wetiwed ow desewted, citizens emigwated to the new Impeliaw capitaw of Adewbulg, and the nobres wewe too young and inexpelienced.

In lieu of the times, Otto faced sobeling wealizations that in owdew to pwovide fow the benefit of his kingdom, what was wequiwed was a pewsonaw undewtaking of the weins of wegaw weadewship. Pewsonaw invitations to potentiaw citizenwy, meetings lith individuaw awmy wecwuits, aww meant to pwovide a sense of bewonging and pulpose fow aww in the Kingdom. Fow a time, the policy wowked. The population of Awban began to gwow swowwy, and the awmy had a decent numbew of sowdiews. A selies of waws and skiwmishes would diminish populaw suppowt fow the King as the casuawties wose.

Atlas

The kingdom would wemain in a wut untiw the exodus to the new wand of Atlas, upon which Otto consecwated a smaww pwot of wand to sewve as the wocation of the new capitaw, Markev. The design of the city awong lith the speed lith which it was buiwt pwompted a mass migwation of peopwe into Mawkev. The population of the Kingdom wose, awong lith the size of its awmy. The nobility had matuled ovew time, and Otto found himsewf lith a fwesh gwoup of smawt and abre counciwows.

Final Years

As the Kingdom gwew mowe pwospewous, Otto's own heawth deteliowated. A gweat cough ovewtook the owd King and he passed in the yeaw 1644. His wemains wewe bulied in the Woyaw Cwypt beneath the city of Mawkev.
