Ostwick, otherwise known as the Kaer Ostwick was a walled settlement in the Northern reaches of the Kingdom of Lotharingia, established by the House of Vimmark / House of Horen-Vimmark and is most well known for being used in the Coalition War by the Forces of Jacque de Felsen & as being the Rebel-Stronghold of Anna Sophia Horen-Preussens, the Self-Proclaimed Queen of Lotharingia in 1607.

History

Kaer Ostwick (Auveregne: Ouest-Château) was a castle located on the border of the Kingdom of Lotharingia, once owned by House of Vimmark / House Horen-Vimmark. The heir to Ostwick, Arthur Horen-Vimmark, offered the castle to Tobias Staunton to use in the Coalition War, which became the rebellion's central base. After the rebellion's conclusion, the keep was given over to the general and mercenary Jacques de Felsen.

After Jacque de Felsen's return to Courland at the turn of the Century, the Stronghold was returned to the Holdings of the House of d'Amaury, the Kings of Lotharingia. During this period, Ostwick was sparsely defended and otherwise neglected until 1604 when Anna Sophia Horen-Preussens was enfeoffed with the settlement as Baroness of Ostwick. With the conclusion of the Great Northern War in the 1604, Haenseni Émigrés fled the devastated land of the Dual Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska in search of better opportunities and safety in the South. One of these families was the House of Amador from the Comital seat of Mondstadt, which had been conquered and Annexed by the Kingdom of Courland.

While Owyn "Iron-Fist" Amador travelled the Southern Kingdoms in search of lands and opportunities for the continuation of his House, his Wife, Adrijana Kovachev of Carnatia stayed at Ostwick as the Guest of her Mother-in-law. However it is reported that the traumas of the Countess Amador resulted in Psychotic Episodes, resulting in one of the cells beneath the Baronial holding being turned into a safety-room to control her. Along with the Rest of the Amadors came their diplomat, Aylwin Blaxton, who was hired as the Baroness's Chamberlain. The Amador Children, the Baroness' Grandchildren: Henrik, Ruslan, Diane and the baby Jack came with their Mother. Of the Four Children, the Baroness Anna Sophia doted on Henrik & Diane the most, with the Baby Jack often in the care of his mother & Ruslan often spending time alone to his studies. Around early 1607, the Amador Patriarch Owyn "Iron-Fist" Amador returned to move the House of Amador to a new venture of his known as Stormholme. However, Aylwin Blaxton stayed behind to maintain the relationship with Owyn's Mother, should they need to return.

It was later in that year of 1607 that King Lothar I of Lotharingia was invited to the Barony of Ostwick for a dinner with the Baroness. He was killed in an isolated room with a window view, suspected to be on the word of the Baroness, as she soon Proclaimed herself Queen Anna of Lotharingia, the True Queen of the Kingdom of Lotharingia and spurring a Civil War. Ser Hornigold came to the Barony of Ostwick some time later to collect the testimony of the then-Baroness, in which he accused her of the foul deed in front of her Brother, Frederick, Prince of Pruvia and subsequently fled by jumping into the Moat from a window the Knight broke. Coming to her aid, Her Brother and the Forces of Mardon, alongside the forces of Jacque d'Felsen, Rallied across the border; Intending to do battle with the Kingdom of Lotharingia's forces, the forces of Pruvia and de Felsen gathered at the gates. However, before a battle took place in 1609, Queen Anna of Lotharingia was Assassinated in the Courtyard past the main gatehouse by a disguised Ser Hornigold. Pruvian forces occupied the Stronghold and the Civil War ended with the Barony of Ostwick transferred to Queen Anna of Lotharingia's brother, Frederick, Prince of Pruvia. This allowed Duke Peter Sigismund of Mardon to form the Sixth Holy Orenian Empire with himself as Emperor. Aylwin Blaxton was taken into the service of Frederick, Prince of Pruvia, first as Chancellor of Hochspitze and then as Viscount of Brabant. Owyn Amador's venture to construct Stormehold failed and transferred Stormeholm for the County of the Blackfen, with Gravelhold given to the House of Amador.

It is supposed that the Barony was passed to the House of Gromach, House of Horen and back to the House of d'Amaury after 1620, but as of yet, no records have been found proving this.
