Liridona Ingrid Amador was the Matriarch of the House of Amador during Aevos, serving as Regent for Henrik III Amador, after a Royal decision to replace her Cousin Albus Amador. The Younger Twin-Sister of Nataliya & daughter of Olessya Amador, she is best known for her efforts with her Sister, Nataliya and other Almaris kin, for resurrecting the Noble Status the House of Amador within the Dual Koengzem of Hanseti-Ruska.

Background

Liridona's childhood was defined by her relationship with her Mother & Sister, Olessya & Nataliya.

Born in 1903, Liridona was born to Olessya Amador and Edvard Sigismund, at Sedan. Not much is known of the earliest histories of Liridona, but it is believed that she was brought to Karlsburg by her mother when the House of Amador relocated back to the Dual Koengzem of Hanseti-Ruska. As the second born child of the Amador family's mainline, Liridona was given more freedom than her elder twin to enjoy a childhood. She was known to be a gregarious girl, who enjoyed time with her friends. However, she also developed a nervous and anxious personality from the overbearing nature of her mother; it would carry through to her grave. Her cousin Albus, a known eccentric, exacerbated this trait.

Navigating the world through her mother and twin's neglect and abuse, Liridona found herself with few confidants, save for her cousin Nicolette Amador. However, this changed one evening when the Amador kin was invited to a dinner hosted by House Baruch for families surrounding Lake Voron, including the House Colborn. It was at this dinner that Liridona met Erik Colborn, who bore an equally timid demeanor to the young Amador. The two clicked almost instantly, spending much of their time together.

A few years later, the pair had grown significantly closer, leading them to develop mutual feelings for one another. They soon after began courting with firm approval from both their families, and married a few years after. The ceremony was a quiet affair with very few in attendance. Their marriage would be long lasting and fruitful, with the couple bearing five sons. However, it was noted that despite this, Erik would make himself sparce through their later lives, having gone to raise goats in the mountains while Liridona raised their five children in Valdev, in addition to her six orphaned nieces and nephews.

During her childhood, Olessya Amador put out a missive for all members of the extended Amador family gather in Karlsburg, leading Liridona to become acquainted with her cousins, uncles and aunts. When this occurred, a number of Family Heirlooms were gathered and returned to the Matriarch Olessya. Nataliya, on the cusp of her ascension as Baroness, is believed to have bequeathed the title Gem of Amador upon her younger twin. To mark this elevated title within the family, Nataliya placed about Liridona's head the tiara of Princess Artemis Palaiologos, Wife of Count Henrik I Amador and considered the most beautiful woman in Amador History. The event was so poignant that Liridona would develop a love for historically significant jewelry.

In 1921, the Twins enjoyed a coming-of-age celebration, which was attended by a portion of the Haense Aristocracy. During this celebration, the twins were given a choice of activity for people to partake in; Liridona's chosen activity was to find the most beautiful flower in the Lallybroch, befitting her love of beauty and nature. [1]

Adulthood

In 1943, the befittingly named Gem of Amador Liridona (along with some members of her family) published a catalogue of the Household's most precious items known as The Jewels of House Amador [2] The Catalogue included a variety of items of historical importance, including but not limited to the Rosary of Clement III, a number of wedding and engagement bands & Kokoshniks. It was well received and has become a useful historical resource for future historians.

Liridona Ingrid Amador, by Thondorus Thiges Stafyr, circa 1940s

Liridona was an active personality within the Court of King Aleksandr II of Haense, serving as the Palace Custodian & Koenas Amaya's Chamberlain, responsible for overseing the masters/mistresses (Known as the Hauchkhazya) of each office (Known as the Khazya).[3]. She also helped the Koenas with event hosting and management, meaning Liridona's actions can therefore be seen as a contributing factor to why the Royal Couple became some of the most beloved in Haenseni History, culiminating in Koenas Amaya's Veneration.

Liridona's world was rocked in 1933 when her Twin Sister, Baroness Nataliya Amador died tragically during the childbirth of her niece, Theodosya Amador. Her Cousin and the Household Doctor, Albus Amador, was attending to the Pregnancy when the Baroness died. It was claimed by Albus and endorsed by another Cousin, Sterling, that Nataliya requested Albus become regent of the Household until her Eldest son come of age. Thus begun a short period known as the False Regency. [4] Distraught and grief-striken, the Baron-Consort Aleksandr Audemar, retreated into his quarters at the loss of his wife and was unable to question the claim. Liridona, the Twin sister and natural choice for the Regency after the Consort, felt animosity was sidelined as a choice. Albus, acting out of honour and unused to political power, began to interfere in decisions that effected the educations of the Amador Children and alienating the mainline Amador family. This came to a head when a confrontation between Aleksandr & Albus led to the Letters from the Grieving, denouncing Albus as a False Regent. [5] Liridona supported Aleksandr initially, wishing to keep her own children safe from the influence of her Eccentric Cousin, Albus. However, as the confrontation started to turn into a Schism, Koeng Aleksandr II of Haense Intervened. Having taken a liking the young Henrik III Amador, The Koeng called an audience with the feuding sides of the Amador Family to settle the matter. The previous day, the Lords within the Kongzem Duma voiced a disdain for Aleksandr as a regency, preferring to support Albus' Claim. Nevertheless, The Koeng decided Albus did not have sufficient documentation to support his regency, though equally stated that he did not doubt the man's honour in carrying out the wishes of the late Baroness. Legally Unable to Choose Albus, Socially Unable to Choose Aleksandr, The Koeng named Liridona the Regent of the Amadors. The decision was not unexpected and Albus swore fealty to the new Regent Immediately, but the decision nonetheless placed a spotlight on Liridona and did not fix the schism Aleksandr Audemar now felt. Isolated, he would take his own life soon after. [6]

Regency & Death

Liridona & Erik, circa 1940s

Slightly pre-dating her time as Regent from 1933 to 1951, Liridona attended various festivals with the Master of the Wardrobe & her cousin, Murtagh Amador. The pair worked on developing New Marian & Haenseni fashion, selling clothes at auctions and holding events to display new dresses and jewelry. [7] [8] During her tenure, Liridona worked to keep the family together, though somewhat unsuccessfully. Albus decided to leave the Dual Koengzem of Hanseti-Ruska to travel Aevos, only to return to visit for a mere month at a time. Her other Cousin, Ser Sterling Amador, was disowned by her hand after the former declared an interest in finding his own path and expressing disdain for Albus' removal. [9] In time, this disownment was retracted by Henrik III Amador Liridona was also forced to recognise the bastard-status of Ser Sterling's Daughter, Aurelia, at the insistence of the Church and the Crown after the discovery of Ser Sterling's Wife as a Darkspawn. [10] Ser Sterling would later establish an Owynist Settlement in Eastern Aevos, called the Marchdom of Lotusgrad, after swearing to protect the Kingdom of the Halflings. However, Liridona was successful in maintaining the presence of the House of Amador, despite this. She was a loving and caring mother, aunt and Matriarch of the Household at a time when leadership was sorely required. Supported by her Husband, Erik Edvard Colborn, she was able to keep a happy household, keeping them safe as Political Tensions began to rise in Aevos.

In 1956, Liridona was kidnapped by Bo Rastova, her Kinsmen and held to ransom following a familial disagreement concerning the leadership of the Household under Henrik III Amador.[11] The Incident was part of the wider conflict known as the Aevos Coalition War, in which Bo & Henrik III found themselves on opposing sides. A Ballad was composed in honour of Liridona by Radmir Montalt, lamenting the conditions the Gem of Amador found herself. [12] However, the ballad does not reflect historical record, as it is believed Liridona skillfully negotiated her own release from behind House Arrest by renouncing a missive denouncing Bo. [13]

On the 15th of the Sun's Smile, 1967, Liridona had met with her niece, Poppiya Godunov, within the familial keep of Mondstadt. The two conversed for a time, before Poppiya had revealed a letter that her brother, Henrik III Amador, had sent her. It entailed questions of Poppiya's marriage to Baron Anatoliy Godunov, with concerns that the relationship had grown abusive. Liridona, who had built up a significantly high blood pressure during her life due to stress and her severe anxiety, collapsed upon hearing the news, and passed away from a heart attack shortly after, with Poppiya at her side. [14] A pre-written will and letters to her family and friends were sent out shortly after, uncovering much of Liridona's story that she kept untold. She revealed her story of abuse as a child, and how she had feared living in her sister's shadow and being lost to history. However, she has instead gone down within her House's history as a diligent regent and Matriarch of her Household.
