History

Athera

Relouria, the ancient homeland, and nation which House Halcourt once ruled fell. Its people fled to Savoy, due to historical ties between the people. Serving Olivier Ashford de Savoie, then Duke of Savoy and later King of Oren, they became entrenched in human politics. Sylvester I, founding the de Vasile line, was Olivier's seneschal and ruled his city Aldersburg when Olivier came to rule the whole kingdom; Cecil I, forming the de Aldersburgg line, later served as commander of the Petrus Watch; and Eliza I created the de Pierrot line of Halcourt. Thus, there was Halcourt de Vasile, Halcourt de Aldersburg, and Halcourt de Pierrot.

Axios

In Johannesburg, the family grew large and most well known when Sylvester II was knighted by the Emperor, John III Owyn, and landed as Count of Artois. The family served the fifth empire improving its military until sudden disputes arose, forcing the family to become a vassal of Lorraine later known as the Kingdom of Lotharingia. As years went by the family vanished for a while until Sylvester's son Jacques Halcourt, who came back to a fallen empire and a new head of humanity, the Courland, thus leaving him under the Kingdom which he was able to grow a personal military being granted the Barony of Relouria, and later the County of Aven.

Within the year of 1611, Jacques married Princess Ariana Staunton-Baden having only up to two kids, Isabelle and Sylvester III. This was a milestone for the Halcourt family in Courland until the Santegian Rebellion was declared forcing them to fight. After Evreux's fall to the Santegians the family were given land and resided in the swamplands near the Holy Orenian Empire's old capital Mardon. The family would sit there for almost 10 years until the disappearance of Count Jacques this led to his brother ruling Aven as regent. After a year ruling as regent Arnaud fell ill leaving many people leaving the County until it was abandoned, but when Ser Sylvestre III was of age he joined House Devereux in taking back Aleksandria placing them as Dukes leaving the Halcourt family as reigning Counts within the Duchy of Curon.

Atlas

After arriving in Atlas, the family followed Duke Karl to the new lands which they later began to build what is now known as Cyrilsburg. As years went by old members of the family came back arriving in Atlas joining Ser Sylvester III in Curon, and some would join Haense. The family lived up to what they are known for as Sylvester III and his grandfather, Ser Sylvester II, began to help Curon prosper after the death of Duke Karl by improving their military. When the military of Curon was built Ser Sylvester III ran to Mayor in the First Cyrilsburg Mayoral Election, after a few months everyone gathered in the great hall as the Chancellor, Ser Sylvester II announces Ser Sylvestre III as the winner, and first Mayor of Curon only winning by one vote. Meanwhile, Cecil II Halcourt became Mayor of Markev, Haense's capital, and Sophia Halcourt became Mayor of Senntisten. For a brief period, Halcourts lead the municipal governments of all major human nations.

When the Prince of Curon, Alfred, is announced dead and his wife seizing power the family split in half as Ser Sylvester III was imprisoned by Linette. Ser Sylvester III would later be set free within a few days without a tongue, thusly led him leading his half of the family to the County of Gotha where he made an agreement to join Eimar I of Götha in his County as Baron of Vasile. The family would remain there til present time now being led by Ser Sylvester III's firstborn, Arnaud II, after his death in 1659. After the fall of Curon, Sylvester III's grandfather, now in very old age and near death, moved to Senntisten, and became a member of the Royal Privy, as one of the King's advisors. With the family a bit split Arnaud II would lead his Barony until his murder in 1665, and with this would leave the Barony of Vasile to his twin brother Charles Halcourt.

Within Charles's reign, his first act was to finish Fort de Vasilie, after a month the Staunton Uprising war began which led Charles to swear fealty to the Kingdom of Courland to get his revenge for the death of his brother. During the war, Charles served as one of King Tobias's right-hand man assisting him with the war progress against the Crown of Renatus-Marna. After the Siege of Whitepeak along with the fall of the Kingdom of Courland after King Tobias went missing, Charles became independent governing his people in peace. A few years of peace was within the Barony of Vasile until Charles hears the news of the Cantwell War, he'd quickly begin to get in talks with the head of the Barony of Blackreach forming an alliance thusly leading the Barony of Vasile into the war.
