After having loyally served the [[Kingdom of Norland]] for numerous years, bearing only the bastard name of Staunton "White", Richard would establish himself as a Count, then a Duchy, after having numerous Norlandic vassals declare fealty to him. Although his reign would run short after having joined the [[Staunton Uprising]], bringing up the quick end of the Duchy of Nevaria and [[Richard I Arden]]. The House would scatter into the wind before being refounded by Kjartan Arden in [[Nordengrad]], where he would be made marshal for the majority of his time there. He established the Arden House and aquired a barony taking up a great amount of the Nordengradic rally. Although due to an unknown illness Kjartan Arden passed away in his bed, while his son would assume the mantle. The House Arden turned from a once strong house of Norland onto a destroyed house, lacking people and leadership. The majority of the Ardenins would fall during the [[Siege of Nordengrad]]. The House would move to Rosenyr, quickly being granted a Duchy and a large majority of land. Upon the reclaimation of the [[Earl of Nordengrad]] and [[Kingdom of Norland]], the house would once more flock to the Rurics, most notably Izekeil. Where he would be made the first Ardenin thane of Norland. The family was registered in the Norlandic book of Clans, though they eventually went extinct due to Kjartan's lack of children.
The family's roots are relatively new; Richard took up the name of Ardenin the early years of [[Atlas]]. Having served King [[Jory Ruric]] during the Silversteed Rebellion, By infiltrating the Silversteed ranks and breaking them from the inside, He proved himself incredibly loyal, and started House Arden on the Path of Nobility.  A few weeks after the duel of kings, Richard went missing for some time. Years after Richard eventually returned as Lord of the House, beginning a large recruitment of Arden men. Upon marshaling a sizable force, he marched into Jornburg, declaring himself Count, and leaving House Arden to be known as a Noble House within Atlas. A few weeks after settling into the fort, Richard reached out to other lords and counts of the idea of vassalization under him. Thus he managed to convince the Baron of Ashwood, the agreement being that they will see each other as equals and friends, as well as the Baron of Driftwood. Finally after many diplomatic talks, Richard formed the Duchy of Nevaria. Richard, who in comparison to these new vassals lacked a sufficient military might, deemed it fit to begin a formation of the first House Arden military order, for which his house could finally have direct soldiers rather than vassals taking up a majority of his military. However, during the duration of the military reformation, Richard heard news that the Stauntons were rising up against the Horens with a hope of destroying them like they did back in Axios. Richard quickly joined the cause, seemingly holding some hope in the cause, Although a few days before the [[Siege of Whitepeak]], the Arden men were held back by small groups of bandits attacking the roads just above Ashwood, preventing them from assisting their Courlandic allies. Directly after hearing the news of the Courlandic defeat, and how all their allies bailed out after the defeat, Richard quickly abadoned Jornburg, and marched his men to the mighty fortress of Ashwood. This would be the beginning of the end of Richard and House Arden, resulting in the blood bath known as the [[Siege of Ashwood]], Richard fought valiantly, but eventually fell to the hand of an unknown Renatian soldier. Leaving the house bent and broken, the remnants of the household fled into the wind, remaining outcasted from the outside world for many years, until a young Arden rose up and began a long hard ride to the newly founded Earldom of Nordengrad, the boys name was Kjartan, he quickly joined the military order known as the Red Brothers, where he rose up the ranks of the order, becoming marshal after only a few years of service. He would then adopt a young man named Rae as an offical family member. Throughout its majority of time in service towards the Rurics, the Arden house became a very influencial house, eventually owning a barony, a large amount of levy, and numerous council position such as, Marshal, High Keeper, Steward, Mayor, and a few positions on the small council. It was clear to the other houses that the Ardens were the most powerful clan. Although they descended from that power upon Kjartans leave from Nordengrad to go on a trip for a few months, leaving the Barony and Clan in the hands of Xalid Arden and Rae Arden, this being a grave mistake as when conflict arose from Nordengrad, bewteen the Rosiks, and the majority of the populace of Nordengrad and the Rurics, and Mournstones, Rae jumped to the Rosiks while Xalid remained loyal to the Rurics, this would tear the house in two, resulting in numerous people fleeing. When Kjartan returned to Nordengrad, he found his House, and Nordengrad on the brink of warfare, he did whatever he could to try and defuse the siuation, although this all proving for naught, as Thoromir died in a duel the next week after the siuation was almost gone. Not wanting to deal with the new leadership, Kjartan turned all his focus towards rebuilding his house, but, the Arden house was far from repair, although few stayed many left. Only a year before the [[Siege of Nordengrad]], Kjartan died due to an unknown cause, many believe it was due to stress, while others believe he was very sick. Upon his death it left the title of Baron onto his his Forneus, he would attempt to keep the clan together, being rather successful in doing so, until the war broke out. As the Norlanders built mustered their men in their capital, moving them to the Krag, Forneus would call upon all Arden men to meet in the Ardenhall Keep, gearing and marching them to the Krag, many Ardens died in the battle, most notably Rae Arden. After the defeat the Arden house was left homeless forced to flee from their home.

The Ardens currently situate themselves within the Pinemarch of Arcas taking up an irrelevent stature amoungst the folk there, plotting for their return to relevancy in Arcas.

After having loyally served the Kingdom of Norland for numerous years, bearing only the bastard name of Staunton "White", Richard would establish himself as a Count, then a Duchy, after having numerous Norlandic vassals declare fealty to him. Although his reign would run short after having joined the Staunton Uprising, bringing up the quick end of the Duchy of Nevaria and Richard I Arden. Upon the reclaimation of the Earl of Nordengrad and Kingdom of Norland, the house would once more flock to the Rurics, most notably Izekeil. Where he would be made the first Ardenin thane of Norland. The family was registered in the Norlandic book of Clans, though they eventually went extinct due to Kjartan's lack of children.
