Eleanor Lucienne Adelaide (17th of Sun's Smile, 1850 - 3rd of Sun's Smile, 1931) monikered as The Mother of Aaun was the first Queen-consort of Aaun, and concurrently foundress of the aforementioned and the Kingdom of Balian. She was born as the second youngest child of many siblings under the strict and watchful eye of her mother, who could have cared less for one of her many daughters, and an absent father. None was expected of her, yet to the surprise of her family she wed Charles Leopold, the heir to the Principality of Alstion and by extension the Johannian inheritance, siding with the Imperialists in the Brothers' War as opposed to her kin, who backed the Royalists.

She went on to become the first Governess of the Monterosa in the southern and balmy lands, together with her husband and his family, as they laid the foundations of a new state under the Novellens. The woman diligently performed her work, promulgating many documents which have been used as basis for modernised ones by successors to her office, furthermore establishing the palatial customs of the Balianese. Yet, by each year she found less and less time for her children, and then abruptly she resigned, proceeding to indulge in many voyages and journeys with her issues, concentrating on their education and development.

To her revelation upon one return to Atrus after a long retreat, she got ahold of a correspondence that her spouse had joined the Harvest Confederacy and was elected as its de facto leader in its collapse, thereafter creating the United Kingdom of Aaun in the latter's demise. In immediate response the aging woman set sail towards her old home, the Heartlands, and joined her partner in once again an inception of a new domain. In the period of restoration that no bureaucratic institution existed, she directed the documentation and finances of the realm.

Adolescence

At birth she was the sixth child by the union of her parents, having fully matured siblings and not many years later even nephew and nieces. As she was the second youngest of many children, little hopes were had in her future or success in marrying an influential Orenian noble. Her prior education being disregarded and not seen as vital by the familial tutors, who dotted around her older sisters. Understanding of this, she frequented any library that was accessible to her, focusing on reading history and law as those subjects seemed most important to her. It was obvious to her that she had to develop sharp writ in balance to her status, and become sought after in the distinguished circles of the Empire.

Oftentimes the mademoiselle felt unneeded and as extra to her menage, later resulting in her distancing herself from them. She warded under none, yet developed admiration for figures such as the Imperial Princess Josephine and the centenarian Saint Alexander of Furnestock, whose works she examined as a hobby. Upon each of her father’s journeys to the far away lands of Aeldin, she boarded with him and was astonished by the Aeldinic architecture and diversity in cultures and languages. The growing girl demanded of her mother to be sent to capital of the Kingdom of Banardia to be enrolled in one of the prestigious colleges of the city. Such was done with heavy deliberation, resulting in Eleanor being absent from Almaris for more than five years till the age of eighteen.

The Dame's Thoughts

Upon her eighteenth name day, the now matured woman of Pruvian heritage returned to her home lands. To her shock much had changed in her disappearance, as some of her siblings were blessed with children, whilst her nieces and nephews had grown fully. She had disregarded the safety of the Provins estate and settled temporarily in New Providence. Oftentimes she frequented the inn, where debates were held, and on one such occurrence she was present for a dialogue regarding the failure of the current Imperial Crown, proceeding forward she became acquainted with these dissidents. In time she had become a core constituent of the formed assembly. On an ordinary day as she was deeply lost in reading, unexpectedly the noblewoman was delivered an intriguing document detailing the history of the House Alstion. As she delved deeper in its text, realisation struck her mind and through tremendous attempts the disgruntled subject forwarded a letter to the then successor to the Prince of Alstion, John. Not many days later she and him met, surprisingly the duo matched well and began cooperating on restoring the latter’s inheritance.

In the ensuing months they had gathered some lower nobles and educated commoners to their cause, yet startlingly the Emperor met his demise and his whole domain erupted in utter chaos as both of his sons pressed their own claims. After much deliberation the faction of Alstion decided on joining the forces of the Emperor Peter IV, in the few raids and skirmishes that occurred Eleanor fiercely donned the uniform of the Johannians and fought together with her compatriots. On one particular eve, Charles proposed that they be wed, and so it happened. The matrimony was held in Karosgrad, officiated by High Pontiff Tylos III and observed by hundreds. In the time of the following fortnights, the Imperialists were defeated through their leader’s capture and sudden execution.

Inception of Balian; (1869-1893)

As daughter-in law to the first Chancellor of Balian, Eleanor was afforded great respect and granted the great project of founding the Courts of the state. Uniting many of the ladies and some lords of the exiles of Lothar, she devised an organised structure, that ensured the swift machinations of the Palace. Her publication dubbed the Courts of Monterosa established many of the decorums and etiquettes of the realm, and has been used as base for future documents. She hosted frequent tourneys and revelries, earning the love of many. As the Heir, Prince Alexander was betrothed, it was decided that the future Queen-consort of Balian, Yelena of Marsana, would be warded under the Princess-consort of Alstion, earning the highest of honours for the Pruvian noblewoman.

She felt that her mission was accomplished, and that now, she must turn to her children and ensure their proper education and attention. So in sudden, the Governess of Monterosa resigned her office and boarded with her issues towards faraway lands for many years, these times have little records and much is unknown.

Consort and Protectress of Aaun; (1893-1923)

Queen-Mother of Aaun; (1923-1932)

After the passing of her beloved, Charles. The Matriarch of Alstion felt into deep sorrow and mourning, the outgoing and friendly woman had secluded herself to her room. It is reported by servants that she had ordered for her room to be stripped of any colour, and replaced with black. The Pruvia rarely ventured outside of the palatial grounds, and if doing so, briefly. She resorted more to indulging in heavy consumption of Pruvian Port and trips to Aeldin, unannounced to any, leaving much of the Royals wondering whether their mother and grandmother shall return. Cited by herself, she felt "Unneeded, an aging relic, whose counsel does no good.", and probably the cause of her depression. Yet, once surrounded by her grand daughter, the Princess Augusta, an ensuing grin always grew on the aging woman's face, as she was her favourite.

Bequest

It was an ordinary evening, the Queen-Mother had secluded herself to her quarters and had her newly-hired servant bring forward the usual tray of Pruvian Port, she extended her arm and her wrinkled hand now held the metal base of the chalice. Her lips were now pressed on the rim as the liquid found its way through her mouth into her body, it was moments later that Eleanor felt something was abnormal as her hands began shaking and she felt losing control of her muscles. She realised that a tiny piece of paper was placed below the tray that held her beverage, and on it read “Aeldin sends its regards.” without much consideration, she had realised that many moons ago she had outbid an Aeldinic merchant, who now sought revenge. The Pruvian scion then collapsed onto the cold ground, eyes closing dramatically as servantry and dwellers of the Royal seat surrounded the elderly woman in her last moments.

It was not long before, that the bells of Whitespire rang, announcing the death of the realm's mother. She was buried deep beneath the rocks of the Hand of Horen, in secret location together with her stead, Claudia, named after her iron-willed mother. All of her immense wealth circulated back to the Crown, she so diligently founded and gave her life to.
