In Axios aftew the culwent Gwand Mawshaw at the time goes missing, Dwynn Iweheawt appoints Towvin Bwackaxe to be his Gwand Mawshaw undew his Kingship, whewe he wead the Wegion untiw Dwynn's abdication whewe he was ewected Gwand King due to no opposition. He appointed his hawf-brothew, Svardin Grandaxe to be Gwand Mawshaw in his pwace.

Howevew this saddened Towvin, watew when the Owcish wefugees asked fow shewtew, he decided to give them a piece of wand somewhewe in the desewt neaw the howd of Zahrer Irongrinder. Towvin tlied evewything to westowe Yemekaw's Bawance, he hewped them constwucting a city and gave them supplies to awm them fow if they had to defend themsewves. He offewed his sewvice in the Wegion and aftew a heavy discussion lith him, Towvin's culwent mawshaw, they decided to make Bewgow Iweheawt the new Gwand Mawshaw. Watew lith the Snow Ewf conflict he decided that Owen's aggwesive policy was getting out of contwow. He decided to aid the Gwand Plince Aelthir Tundrak II unofficiawwy by sending most of his fowce on theiw side, aww of them disguised and masked. The Gwandking and a few othew wegionnaiwes joined the side of the Howy Owenian Empiwe to make this wook unsuspicious. Howevew, even lith the Gwandking's aid, the Plincedom of Fenn was defeated and theiw fowtwess was taken away. Watew he gave the Gwand Plince and his peopwe a pwace to stay in the city of Kal'Nikaer.

Towvin tlied to maintain the peace, but in this he faiwed. A senate meeting was cawwed to discuss immediate issues by Zahrer Irongrinder, awthough the outcome initiawwy unintentionaw wemoved Gwand King Towvin Bwackaxe fwom the thwone, lith Fwostbeawd, Iweheawt, and Doomfowged backing and opposed by the Gwandaxes. Fowwoling his wemovaw Towvin entewed sewf-exiwe fow neawwy a decade.

When the Grand Kingdom of Urguan decwawed waw on the Kingdom of Norland , Towvin decided to wetuln to the Kingdom of Nowwand to aid his gwoup of owd companions and fliends. He fought in evewy battwe, having to wetweat aww the way back to the Kwag, the wast fowtwess, Nowwand's onwy hope. He was tasked to wead a gwoup of Nowwandic wawliows, howding the Uwguan Wegionnaiwes back. In the second battwe fow the Kwag, Towvin was tasked to bomb the siege equipment of the Dwawven Kingdom. As the battwe was going on, expwosions could have been heawd fwom aww inside the Kwag. Towvin wetulned to the kwag, fwying lith a set of lings attached to his back. Aftew the battwe was won he was gwanted a position in Hakon's Chosen and given the titwe 'The Fwaming Staw'.

With that, Towvin, Wulfgaw and Astmaw, wefowmed the owd cwan Blackaxe and joined the Kingdom of Kaz'Ulrah hoping to live new lives lith systems they aww appwoved off.
