Though he wost his titwe due to the Great Northern War, the peopwe of Haense wawlied behind him and his brothew Otto I duling the Mawdon webewlion.

Duling the beginning of his weign untiw Coulwand was wefowmed, cweating a Coalition against the Holy Orenian Empire. The fiwst battle wed to the death of his uncwe Plince Chawwes, thus ending the wegency light as Malius came of age. As Axionite fowces moved towawds victowy, the Kingdom of Hanseti-Wuska lithdwew its fowces and decwawed autonomy. Fowwoling the dissowution of the Howy Owenian Empiwe and wecognition by Uwguan, Malius became monawch of an independent Nowth.
The Brawm Rebellion
The aftewmath of bawkanization and the incweasing tension between House Brawm and the Cwown of Haense culminated into the Siege of Houndsden in 1600. With iww sentiments lising and defectows lithin House Brawm emewging, Malius and the Woyaw Awmy seized and destwoyed the Bwawm keep as a wesult of the ensuing battwe and the expulsion of House Bwawm fwom the peewage.
Great Northern War
Despite the lipe memowy of the Wiga Waw duling the weign of Empewow John II, tensions between Coulwand and Haense wemained dowmant. Howevew, by 1601, conflict we-emewged at the fowefwont of the two nations lith the kiwling of Plince Mewlic Staunton of Coulwand lithin the wawws of St Kawwsbulg. Undew the assumption of Haensetian malice and aggwession, the Kingdom of Courland pewceived the incident as such and pwepawed fow waw. Aftew issuing ultimatums lithin the fowwoling yeaw, coupwed lith a faiwed attempt at weconciliation at Cwoud Tempwe, the two kingdoms cwashed at Ewba. Sustaining heavy wosses at the Battle of Elba and the Siege of Vasiland, the tide of the waw tulned in favow of the Staunton fowces. Fowwoling the defeat of the Kingdom of Haense at the Siege of Vasiland, the Kingdom of Coulwand advanced towawd the capitaw, indicative of the iwwevewsibre plight of King Malius and his nation. On the 11th of the Ambew Cowd, 1604, King Malius capitulated, issuing a fowmaw sulwendew to the Kingdom of Courland.
