He would reunite the Crow houses under the flag of Adria once more and be titled Duke of Adria via the Dumapolooza not once, but twice, in 1897 and 1903. He would go on to rejuvenate the once-great dukedom of Adria, building the city of Velec and defending it through an accusatory rebellion from 1916 - 1918.

Biography

Early Life

Heinrik Otto Sarkozic was born in the dying Kingdom of Oren on the 14th of Owyn's Flame, 1880, to Mister Nikolai Pyotr Sarkozic and his wife, Mariya Anya. Heinrik was the eldest of three boys born one and two years after him respectively. At the mere age of two, his family would be forced to relocate to the countryside of what used to be Oren which was now ruled by the Harvest Confederacy. He recalled very little of this because of his young age, but his mother would never entirely be the same, always half present. This never affected her showing of love to any of her boys though, showing all three of them how gentle life can be.

His adolescence was one of learning, spending much of his time studying subjects spanning from the history of his parental house to the proper way to ride a horse bareback. These teachings were all completed by his parents, both equally playing a part in his upbringing. Heinrik would go on to instruct his brothers, sharing the knowledge with his two closest companions. The three of them were as thick as thieves with much of their time only spent together due to how isolated they were in the country.

The Adrian Cause

At the age of 16, Heinrik would travel far from his home with his younger brother, Paul, to the United Kingdom of Aaun in hopes of finding usage and honor in the skills he had learned. He would befriend the king, Charles, who sympathized with Heinrik's cause. At this point in his life, Heinrik had learned of the Duchy of Adria and how it once belonged to his line of Sarkozic. He wanted to rejuvenate what was once lost, and the King of Aaun saw fire in the young man. In 1896, Heinrik would be titled Count of Veletzia and given a vast quantity of land to do as he saw fit. He and his brother would set up camp, recruiting young passersby, all while developing the plans for the city of Velec.

Furthermore, he would split the house of Sarkozic in half in a family vote. The Sarkozic family had the Viscounty of Pompourelia within the Kingdom of Balian, but Heinrik wanted control of the Sarkozic line within the Kingdom of Aaun. This resulted in a vote which was split evenly down the middle and ended with a coin toss in Heinrik's favor. The conclusion meant that Geinrik was declared as the patriarch of the northern branch of House Sarkozic and would allow him to avoid conflict with the southern branch on who was the patriarch once he was Duke of Adria.

In 1897, Heinrik would host the third Dumapalooza with Sigismond Varoche's help to formally elect himself as Duke. Once the votes were cast by all the Crow houses, Heinrik would be titled victor. However, this only lasted for three days before the King of Balian at the time reconsidered his support and refused to recognize him as Duke. This action seemed to create a landslide of problems because right after the King of Hanese would recede and claim the title better left for dead.

This did not stop the great Adrian cause though, for now, people within the encampment built by Heinrik, his brothers, Sigismond Varoche, and Jan Ivanovich, were hungry. They had flocked from all places of Almaris to rebuild the Duchy of Adria and rekindle the flame that once burnt bright. So, they set to work. With the help of his wife, Austina of Aldersberg, Heinrik would construct the Castle St. Emalyne in the middle of the planned city of Velec. For now, it was merely a castle, a tavern, and some tents. The Adrian people would gather around firepits and speak of old tales, connecting over their fragmented history.

This would continue for awhile while Heinrik and Sigismond would work to change the King of Haense's mind, taking a multitude of negotiations in person and on paper to convince the Ruskan king to reevaluate the situation. Eventually, King Karl III would subside and allow for the Fourth Dumapalooza to take place. This time though, it was to be hosted in his Kingdom and under his rule. The vote would occur on the 13th of the Sun's Smile in 1903 with every Crow house present or represented. Out of 20 votes, 12 of them were for Heinrik to be elected as Duke, and 8 abstained. Not only did Heinrik finally win the title, but he did so with no competitors.

Duke of Adria

Heinrik would return to the township of Velec within his county of Veletzia, re-establishing it as the Dukedom of Adria.

Marriage & Family

Through Heinrik's need for a scribe and sheer luck, he would arrive at the cottage doorstep of the sickly Austina Prudence Aldersberg. At this point in the woman's life, she had considered herself a failure and was surrounded by despair, taking what little jobs she could get. Heinrik had written days before, knowing little about the woman other than her talent for storytelling. What he was met with was a dying Aldersbergian woman, and faced with a choice, he would remember his mother's kindness and aid Austina in her venture towards bettering her health. Over the course of a year, the pair would get to know each other better and eventually fall in love as the Baroness got stronger.

They would marry in 1897, uniting the families of Aldersberg-Novellen and Northern-Sarkozic together as one under the proud Sarkozic banner. Witnesses to the wedding consisted of Austina's mother, Heinrik's brothers, and Sigismond Varoche. They were wed in an unknown chapel by Pontiff Pontain IV. Austina would later go on to move from her cottage into the campsite of Velec, seeing it as completely unfit for her station as a Countess. So, with the help of architects, the pair would go on to construct the grand Castle St. Emalyne.

Five years after their marriage they would welcome their first child into the world under stressful conditions. Heinrik had just been kidnapped by the ferryman, putting so much stress onto the seven-month pregnant woman that she would go into labor that same evening. Once Heinrik escaped and returned home, he would find Austina lying in bed asleep with their newborn girl in her arms. She would be named Suzana Otta, after him. However, because of her early birth, Suzana had not gotten the chance to grow with strength and was stricken with illnesses like her mother for the rest of her life. This would later be a challenge in the pair's marriage with Austina blaming Heinrik often for how their eldest child turned out.

They would go on to have three more children between the years 1903 to 1906, all being harsh on the mother, keeping her inside the Castle on bed rest for most of those years.
