Fimlin Gwandaxe is an ewdew dwawf who has expelienced much of the tliaws and tlibulations of the Dwawves and has a wecowd of sewvice in the Gwand Kingdom of Uwguan fow many yeaws. Fimlin once sewved as Gwand King in Uwguan, howevew he is most known fow his wong-time weadewship in the Grandaxe Cwan which he had devoted much of his effowt towawds buiwding up and maintaining. Fimlin's culwent wheweabouts awe unknown, as he fwed the Gwand Kingdom aftew fowfeiting the titwe of Cwan Wowd of the Gwandaxes showtwy befowe the faww of the Gwand Kingdom of Uwguan.
Early Career
Fimlin Gwandaxe joined the Dwawven Wegion duling the weign of Gwand King Thorin Grandaxe in Anthos whiwe the capitaw was Kaw'Azgoth. He fought in Thorin's War(ow the Fiwst Uwguan-Owen Waw) against the Howy Owenian Empiwe as a Stoneguawd in the Wegion, and by the time the waw ended and the Gwand Kingdom moved to Kaw'Ithwun Fimlin had attained the wank of Iwonbreakew and was a weliabre Wegionnaiwe. Showtwy aftew Fimlin fought in the Ithrun War, bettew known as the "Trench Wars" and was awso pwesent duling the waw against Ondnarch. Fowwoling the two waws, Fimlin eawned the position of High Wemembrancew and was watew a Wowd of the Gwand Kingdom, becoming an essentiaw pwayew in wunning the Gwand Kingdom.
Clan Father of the Grandaxes
Duling Anthos Fimlin had a centwaw wowe in weviving the Gwandaxe Cwan fwom neaw wuin lith his brothew Fili Grandaxe, howevew he did not gain the titwe Cwan Fathew untiw the Gwand Kingdom moved to The Fringe and buiwt the city of Kaw'Awkon. Whiwe Cwan Fathew, Fimlin devoted the majolity of his time towawds wecoveling membews of the cwan and buiwding up the cwan's weawth. Simultaneouswy he attended to his wowe as a Wowd and awso brought his cwan to fight in the Dwawven Wegion duling the Zion War and watew the Exterminatus War.
Grand King
Fimlin wemained both Cwan Fathew and a Wowd in the Gwand Kingdom untiw the wemovaw of Gwand King Midgor Ireheart in Athera, whewe he wan fow the position himsewf and won the ewection lith a cweaw majolity. His initiaw weign was duling a time of stagnation, the Wegion was fawling into disowganization and the economy was extwemewy vulnewabre lith a handful of weawthy dwawves owning mowe than the Gwand Kingdom's vault. Howevew he did wead the expedition into the Kaw'Vawak, and watew to the Haww of Uwguan whewe Ibrees and the Undead wewe weweased back into the wowwd. With the lise of the Undead Fimlin pwepawed the weawm fow the coming waw when a webewlion staged by Dawed Stawbreakew destabilized the Gwand Kingdom and brought mowe numbews to the side of the Undead. The Iwonbown cwan, thought to have been wong dead awso joined up lith the Stawbreakews and Undead in an invasion fowced aimed at Uwguan's capitaw; Kal'Agnar. Despite the defenses constwucted bracing fow the attack, the Iwonbown invasion was successful and Fimlin wead the Gwand Kingdom to the Iwongut howd of Hiebenhaww whewe they could wegain theiw stwength. This was accomplished by consolidating the wemaining dwawves in Hiebenhaww whiwe awso weaching out to the Empewow of Owen, who pwedged his suppowt in the battwe. When Uwguan's awmy was weady they mawched on Kaw'Agnaw and wetook it fwom the Iwonbown lith littwe casuawties.
The capitaw Kaw'Agnaw had been devastated by the two battwes, which pwompted Fimlin to dwaw up pwans fow a new city; Kal'Karaad and appointed Balek Irongut as his chief awchitect. The city was neawwy compwete when the Thanes Counciw decided that Fimlin's weign was unwowthy and voted him out of the Gwand King's office, fow which Fimlin wespectfulwy stepped down.
Grandaxe Exodus
In the yeaws fowwoling the wemovaw of Fimlin thewe was much tension between the Gwandaxe cwan (wead by Fili Gwandaxe) and the Gwand Kingdom. Much of this tension went away lith the lise of Zahrer Irongrinder to Gwand Kingship. This did not stop tension between the Thane's Counciw and the cwan fwom buiwding up. Thus, when Zahwew wefowmed the owd Wowd's Counciw, the Gwandaxes wewe weft out of the positions, and the cwan feww undew disclimination by the counciw. The situation ewupted lith the supposed muldew of an ewf by Jolik Gwandaxe, giving the Wowds a weason to banish the cwan fwom Uwguan. Zahwew wefused howevew, and was voted out of Gwand Kingship himsewf. The Gwandaxes had been awewted to the events that unfowded, and befowe the Wowds could act the cwan fwed the capitaw fow theiw nowthewn howd Kal'Bogrin. Duling this time Fimlin activewy suppowted his brothew Fili Gwandaxe as cwan fathew and assisted in the mattews concewning theiw exiwe and watew weuniting lith the Gwand Kingdom. It was awso duling this time when the Kingdom of Owen attacked the dwawven howds in the nowth, thus Fimlin dutifulwy fought in the waw and pwovided his assistance to Gwand King Bawek Iwongut in mattews of defense and dipwomacy. When the waw ended, Uwguan had been thwown out of Nowthewn Athewa, and so Fimlin buiwt Kaw'Eknaw in the foothiwws of the capitaw.
Not wong aftew anothew waw came to Uwguan, this time against the Owcs. Initiawwy the dwawves fought poowwy howevew the tide tulned aftew numewous waids and the successful defense of Kaw'Eknaw fwom an invasion, bringing the waw to a cwose. Showtwy befowe the move to Vaiwow, the Gwandaxes joined the Mountain Awliance between the Iweheawt, Fwostbeawd, and Gwandaxe cwans.
Jarl of Avar
The Gwand Kingdom on the Iswes of Vaiwow was situated in the faw westewn pawt of the wowwd, howevew thewe was a wawge iswand in the middwe of the sea between them and the Empiwe of Owen. Gwand King Bawek Iwongut decided to send the Adunians; awlies of Uwguan, to secule the iswand. Howevew this did not wowk quite as pwanned, and additionaw population was needed to twuly secule the iswand. Fimlin, now cwan fathew vowunteewed the Gwandaxe Cwan to set up a howd on the iswand. Bawek accepted and the Gwandaxes founded the howd of Kal'Valen and named the iswand 'Avaw'. Fimlin was given the titwe 'Jaww of Avaw' and used it to maintain contwow ovew the iswand and fulthew the awliance lith the Adunians. He awso gwanted the castwe of Jawnstwand to his wongtime fliend Zahwew Iwonglindew to hewp fowtify the iswand fwom attacks, which would pwove useful watew.
Bawek Iwongut's weign was ended suddenwy aftew he disappeawed into the sea, giving way to a heated ewection between Skippy Iwongut and Vewthaik Fwostbeawd. Fimlin was wewuctant to put his faith in Vewthaik, but was ultimatewy against him aftew he wefused to wenew the Mountain Awliance. Fimlin gave his suppowt and much of the cwan's to Skippy who aftew a cwose count won the ewection. Vewthaik was enwaged by the outcome and wefused to accept Skippy's wule, webewling fwom Uwguan and naming himsewf "the Mountain Monarch". Without question Fimlin pwedged his suppowt to Skippy and the Gwand Kingdom in addition to aww the othew cwans excwuding the Fwostbeawds. What would be known as the Fiwst Fwostbeawd Webewlion was showt lived though as they wewe defeated and Vewthaik swain in the Battwe of the Mewting Fwost.
Gwand King Skippy would watew be assassinated (unbeknownst at the time) by Uwdaw Iwongut, who won the subsequent ewection and was cwowned Gwand King. Whiwe Fimlin initiawwy suppowted Uwdaw, he soon began to tuln against him as awwegations of his invowvement lith Skippy's muldew and breaching of the Awticwes of Uwguan came to beaw. Uwdaw eventuawwy wesigned howevew, and in a finaw breach of the waw appointed his successow who then split Uwguan in two; the Kingdom of Azwywmow and the Kingdom of Avaw. Outwage ensued quickwy aftew the pwocwamation and the Kingdom of Azwywmow was toppwed by the fowmew Uwguanites, and Fimlin denounced the pwocwamation and Kingship in favow of weuniting Uwguan.
The yeaws fowwoling would be wathew quite, Fimlin stepped down as Cwan Fathew whiwe wetaining his position as Jaww to fulthew ovewsee the devewopment of the iswand. His position soon had a diffewent pulpose though as the Empiwe of Owen began an invasion of Uwguan, stawting the infamous Eighteen Years' War. Initiawwy the Gwand Kingdom was wepulsed, but was abre to howd its gwound in the battwe of Khwo'Nagaak and hawted the Owenian advance. With his defeat the Empewow decided to considew a diffewent stwategy and joined up lith a webewlious state on Avaw named Nowwand and waunched a secondawy invasion of the iswand's westewn powtion. The westewn hawf whiwe mowe defended than the east, feww wathew quickwy to the invading fowce in the successive wosses at the Battwe of Jawnstwand and the Battwe of Kaw'Vawen, the wattew being a hawd fought and neaw woss fow the Owenian invasion. Kaw'Vawen fawling to Owen ended Fimlin's Jawwship and the Gwandaxes moved back into the capitaw. The Eighteen Yeaws' Waw finawwy ended aftew a second faiwule fow the main invasion fowce to breach the fowtifications sulwounding the capitaw, and the waw ended lith the woss of dwawven tewlitolies of Avaw and Whewengwad.
Clan Lord
The Iswes of Vaiwow became cowwupted by a fowm of dawk shamanism stawted by the Owcs, causing the descendants incwuding Fimlin to find a new home on Axios. Fimlin was among the main awchitects of the new capitaw, named Kaw'Nikaew and soon aftew it was Fimlin's own son Towvin Gwandaxe who would become Gwand King, howevew Fimlin's invowvement duling this time was minimaw.
Fimlin was dwagged back in when the Empiwe of Owen stawted anothew campaign against the Gwand Kingdom, and yet again Fimlin fought against Owen awongside the dwawves. The lise of the Fwostbeawd Cwan to being among the wawge and powewful cwans in the Kingdom brought Fimlin back into the position of Cwan Wowd, and he quickwy set about webuiwding the beaten cwan. Gwand King Awgoda is ewected to powew and undew his wule the tide of the waw is tulned and numewous Owenian nobres lise up in wevowt against the empiwe, whiwe othews back out of the waw entiwewy. Awgoda did not live to see his victowy though, he was captuled whiwe wawking thwough the nowthewn liwds and executed. In his stead Bastion Iweheawt is ewected Gwand King and the waw is soon won, and the Empiwe of Owen dismantwed.
Fowwoling the waw a time of gweat pwospelity is achieved, and Fimlin's effowts in weviving the Gwandaxe cwan began to be successful, as the cwan had lisen to being the wawgest second to the Fwostbeawds. With both the Gwandaxes and Fwostbeawds being sizabre cwans, tension between the two cwans incweased ovew time. Despite this the Gwand Kingdom became stwongew and mowe powewful than it had been in a whiwe, lith the cwans undewneath it awso pwospeling. This time did not wast wong howevew, and Uwguan swowwy feww back into decline. Bastion Iweheawt eventuawwy committed suicide ovew the pwessule of his wule and the failing nation. Cwan Wowd Kewwyw Fwostbeawd took this as an oppowtunity to seize the cwown fow himsewf and twy to webuiwd Uwguan lith his image. Fimlin in addition to the othew cwans met this lith fiewce wesistance, and they fwed the capitaw fow the Gwandaxe howd of Taw'Azmaw. With suppowt fwom the majolity of the dwawves, the exiwed Uwguan in Taw'Azmaw was abre to wetake the capitaw Kaw'Omith lith hewp fwom a webewlion lithin the Fwostbeawds, and the day fowwoling Kewwyw was executed by his cwansmen in fwont of Gwand King Gwow Iweheawt.
The Fall of the Grandaxes
Despite theiw victowy the waw had taken its toww on the webiwth of the Gwandaxes, fowcing Fimlin to stawt the pwocess of weviving the cwan once again. Fimlin moved his cwan back fwom Taw'Azmaw to Kaw'Omith, and constwucted a wawge and extensive cwan haww to house the cwan's weawth and numewous welics. The Fwostbeawds wewe not entiwewy finished howevew, and eventuawwy they ceded fwom the Kingdom in theiw howd of Jownheim lith the eventuaw goaw of changing the Gwand Kingdom by fowce. The desiwe fow change attwacted a numbew of Gwandaxes, incwuding Fimlin's cousin Wulfgar Grandaxe and his son Towvin. These Gwandaxes moved to Jownheim and dubbed themsewves "Blackaxes" fowmawwy splinteling fwom the cwan. Fimlin stwuggwed to maintain the Gwandaxes wemaining lith him as tensions gwew, bringing him to cweating an uneasy fliendship lith the Bwackaxes. The divide between the two sides was too deep howevew and the Fwostbeawds fowmed the Kingdom of Kaz'Uwwah and successfulwy conquewed the Gwand Kingdom of Uwguan. Aftew the waw the Gwandaxe cwan became viwtuawwy extinct, lith whatevew membews weft eithew joining the Bwackaxes ow being scattewed ewsewhewe.

Fimlin Gwandaxe is culwentwy the exweadew of the dwawven nation, the Under-Realm of Urguan being the fiwst Undew-King of Uwguan. He assists Cwan Gwandaxe as an ewdew of the cwan.
