In Almaris Caspian gained a notable reputation as a leading figure in the Imperial State Army during the Sedan Rebellion in which he led several of the battles, even going as far to defeat the House Bishop host in a hundred against three hundred that saw him knighted afterward.

Early Life

Caspian was born in Helena in the year 1792 to Alexander-Lucian d'Arkent and Victoria Adelheid d'Arkent. After the descendant races of Arcas had fled to Almaris, he took up residence with the rest of his family at the newly constructed manor in Sunholdt. He did not often leave the estate during his younger years, until he reached the age of thirteen where he began to spend a great deal of his free time in Providence. Wishing to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Peter Baldwin d'Arkent, he enlisted in the Imperial State Army at the age of 15, lying about his age to enlist early.

Military Career

Caspian joined the 2nd brigade of the Imperial State Army, having received a commission to become an officer once he had graduated. Following two years of training, he graduated from the Combat Academy at the age of 17 in the year 1809. It was during these early years in the Army where his combat prowess as well as skill in leadership were picked up on, as it was during his first few years of service that the Sedan Rebellion had began. He took part in a number of smaller skirmishes in the early years of the rebellion, though was noted for his assistance in commanding during the Battle of Southbridge as he had helped Iskander Basrid and Erik var Ruthern in leading the Imperial forces to victory.

The following year, in 1812, Caspian led the Imperial forces against auxiliary rebel forces that were making an attempt to free the Baron Robert Helvets at the Battle of Robert's Folly. He successfully feigned a retreat to the Bastion before ordering the Imperial forces to turn and charge into the ranks of the rebel allies, causing a disorderly and ill-fated retreat from the city of Providence. A total of one-hundred Imperial soldiers were lost in comparison to the nine-hundred rebel forces that were cut down in the ensuing onslaught.

It was also during this year that he took part in the Battle of the Kahaen Sea, a coalition-force of Orc's, Dwarves and Citizens of Freeport attacked a large Man o' War ship rumoured to be harboring a bandit group off the coast of Almaris. It was a disastrous defeat for the coalition forces, themselves having suffered roughly one-thousand two-hundred losses and being forced to retreat after heavy damage was sustained to the Imperial ship when a number of barrels containing black-powder exploded in the bow of the ship. The bandit's themselves haven't been dealt with yet to the current day.

Caspian's last feat in the Sedan Rebellion was the defeat of three-hundred Rebel forces led by the House Bishop with a force of only one-hundred Imperial soldiers behind him. He slaughtered the Rebel forces and afterwards, the House of Bishop fled to Haense where they swore oaths to the King of Haense, ending their participation in the Rebellion. Caspian was knighted by the Empire, inducted into the Order of the Lion at court for his valour shown on the field during this incident.
