Birds are very useful to citizens in the realms of Lord of the Craft. They care commonly used to deliver messages and can also be kept as a pet. They are usually quite obedient and can find those whom they seek. They will also go to a mailbox if the intended recipient of a letter has one. They may never replace couriers but they are just as reliable. Many aviaries exist across the realm where birds can be found.

Behaviour

All birds have different behaviours and aspects that make them unique to Arcas. Some have been around for centuries tamed to receive and send messages. Others, hide as they are cooked for slaughter and the rest? They are waiting for you to become dinner. Which each new bird one might encounter please proceed with caution. Mostly if they come across loud behaviour and sounds birds will fly off without a second thought.

Uses

Some birds are frequently used for sending messages, as they have been for hundreds of years across various realms.

Speices

  • Ravens-Very distinguishable by its dark feathers and caw. It is sleek and quick as the wind delivering notes when you need them the most, they are loyal and will always get the job done. They also have quite the talons to attack with. Some superstitious folk avoid using them, as they are occasionally believed to cause bad luck. Be careful as you coss the world you see a giant Raven its ti be advised to run the other way.
  • Pigeons-The Pigeon is one of the most commonly used birds as they are in wide abundance throughout Anthos. They are rather easy to take care of and more susceptible to capture due to their lack of speed compared with other species. They also lack in self-defence as their talons are small and not sharp.
  • Hawks-Very few hawks are trained to carry notes and deliver them successfully, they are majestic broad creatures very easy to see amongst the sky. One of high ranking will usually have a hawk as their bird. Their speed is nearly unmatched and they have a fearsome attack. Hawks have been around for centuries within the realms always seeming to be trained by anyone that's wise enough to spend the time with them.
  • Crows-Commonly is mistaken for the raven, the crow is sleek and is commonly found in fields. They are much harder to train than usual. They use their beak to poke eyes out if angered, making them difficult to train and use effectively. You are most likely to see more Crows in the Haense kingdoms.
  • Alabaster Seabird-The Alabaster Seabird is native to Anthos. Very large birds, they make for a prime target when flying. Adult Seabirds are nearly impossible to train, but juveniles can be easily taught to recognize their master and deliver letters well. Many sailors dislike using them, as it is believed they will bring the doom to seafarers who try and tame them.
  • Bokolo- are rideable mounted birds that walk on two legs great for travelling and come in all shapes and sizes. *Please note you need an ST approval for these*
  • Adrallan Cranes- The Adrallan Crane are magnificently tall crane that lives in the forest of Adrallan.
  • Kestrel-Kestrels are small birds of prey with long tails.
  • Vourukh- Are non-playable or emoteable birds. The Vourukh would be classified as birds of prey. Sharp dangerous birds from Athera.
