Prelude

After the capture of Baron Robert Helvets, an Imperial baron turn Sedanian in 1811, he was held in imperial jail until the 17th of Godfrey's Triumph, 1812; the date of his trial. During the early hours of the morning, Imperial scouts spotted a sizeable force of armored men who were assumed to be Sedan rebels, sneaking around the walls of Providence. Imperial guards were alerted, the gates were shut and the city bell was rung. Unfortunately for the defenders, the attackers were able to open the gates and flood into the city, taking Princess Charlotte Augusta hostage and threatening to kill her unless the Imperials released the Baron.

Similar to the Storming of Providence in 1811, the Imperials refused to give into rebel demands. Robert was slain in the Imperial cells and upon hearing of his death, a battle broke out between the two forces which came to be known as the Battle of Robert's Folly, named for the late Baron.

Battle

The battle began with rebel forces pulling back from the main gates to Helvets Avenue. Imperial State Army troops followed and engaged. After a few minutes of skirmishing, Caspian d'Arkent ordered imperial forces to fall back to the gates. The rebel forces took the bait, following, and fell into the imperial trap where Caspian was then able to mount a turn and push, killing several dozens of rebel forces. The remaining forces were scattered and ran down by imperial divisions.

Aftermath

The Battle of Robert's Folly stood as the second major victory for the Imperials in the Sedan Rebellion which raised already high Imperial morale. After the Imperial War Office publicized the battle, Sedan made claims they had no involvement. The Imperial Princess that was taken hostage by the raiders managed to escape to safety during the battle.
