The House of Othaman is a noble human house that originated in the Kingdom of Herendul in Anthos. The House is of Raevir descent both by blood and culture. The family's current marriages include unions to House Devereux and House Winter.

History

Beginnings

The House of Othaman is first recorded in the Kingdom of Herendul with Jon Othaman, a Winterguard born in 1460 who worked alongside Prince David Winter of Herendul. The house gaining quite a bit of fame under head, Jon Othaman, due to his undying military skill and dedication.

Almaris

Late into the winter of 1821, Kelhus Vladimir Othaman, the second eldest son of Elizabeth Winter and Sergei Othaman privately sent a letter to Erik Ruthern, Count of Kositz, the current Speaker of the House of Lords. Within the letter, Kelhus accused his older brother, Viathan Aleksandr Othaman of being an illegitimate child and thus not fit to be Heir to the County and Viscounty of Valles. Two days later, Erik Ruthern sent a private message to both Kelhus and Viathan requesting them to attend a private hearing in Providence. Viathan in response, published a missive; A Cry to Heathen's Ears [1] detailing his frustration. Later the same day, both Kelhus and Viathan arrived in Providence at the House of Lord's hearing where the Lords firstly expressed their displeasure that Viathan had made the accusations a public matter. After numerous hours had passed, Erik Ruthern announced the verdict, declaring Viathan to be the legitimate child of Elizabeth Winter and Sergei Othaman [2].

Two years later in 1823, Kelhus proclaimed himself the Rightful Heir to the County of Valles & formally challenged Viathan to a duel to first blood or yield [3]. After a cease and desist order is issued on Kelhus by the Baron of Halcourt [4] along with being pressured from his betrothed, Kelhus renounced his claim [5]. The following morning, Viathan responded with another public missive [6], insulting the claimant; "Careful how you proceed, good man, for you’re just as intemperate as our father. Revoke your traitorous statements, or prepare to bleed, good man..."

Titles

The County of Valles

A titular title awarded to Erik Othaman in 1813 by His Imperial Majesty Joseph II, in verification of his tenure in fealty to the Holy Orenian Empire as an ISA Captain.

The Viscounty of Valles

A landed title awarded to Erik Othaman in 1777 by His Imperial Majesty Peter III. With this title an Othaman estate was built in the northern part of the Empire, and with the move to Almaris another estate was built in a similar area of The Empire under Emperor John VIII.
