The House of Novellen-Aldersberg is a cadet house of Novellen. The County of Aldersberg is a title that would be granted to Prince Joseph Leopold as a non-hereditary title until the year of 1809 when it was made hereditary, creating the official cadet branch of House Novellen-Aldersberg. The current head of the House is Edward Clement an ardent collector of relics and antiques.
History of Aldersberg
The House Aldersberg without its Novellen name is a very young one, being barely a fifty years finds its origins with Joseph Leopold Novellen, the sixth issue of Emperor Joseph II, and thus was not expected to inherit. Yet as an Imperial Prince was entitled to hold a title, so the county of Aldersberg would be created. The title Aldersberg existed well before this in the Oren of old, coming originally from House Sarkozic then later into the hands of de Savoie. The county would be used by Joseph, as a retreat from the imperial palace. The county as a territory not being much more than an estate and a small plot for farming. Joseph would have five children.
Succeeding Joseph was George Alexander. His reign was mostly unremarkable, his wife and children taking up the responsibilities of day-to-day management. Hosting court events, which Aldersberg has become known for. George would die of an abrupt illness that quickly ended his life in 1862. Succeeding him was his son, Edward Clement. Who boasts a large collection of antiques. Edward is best known for his work in the Aster Court, serving as the Lord Chamberlain. Edward married Anne of Sunholdt, the two being inseparable. The two have so far only had one son, Alexander Leopold.
