Princess Charlotte Augusta of Aldersberg (17th of Sun's Smile, 1792 - Present), known to the Woldzkiy as Karlotta, is an Imperial Princess of the Holy Orenian Empire as the firstborn daughter of Prince Joseph Leopold, son of dual-monarchs Empress Anne and Emperor Joseph. She was Countess consort of Dobrov via marriage to Sigismund Chekhov, becoming Dowager upon his death and remaining widowed until she was directed towards a marriage with her cousin- the heir to the empire, Prince Philip Aurelian- following the death of his wife Amadea of Pompourelia and a command by Emperor Philip II for the pair to remarry.

After the unexpected death of her second husband, Princess Charlotte retired to her daughter's court in Woldzmir, intending to live out the remainder of her days in privacy with her still-growing family. However, upon the excommunication of her stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, the banishment of her eldest daughter from Oren, and the High Pontiff's investigation into the murder of her late-husband, Charlotte would go on to conduct several unsanctioned meetings between both Almaris' leaders and her own personal allies condemning her stepson and the Orenian administration. These actions would eventually lead her to publish the 'Proclamation to Faith' in 1855, where the Novellen-born imperial would stake her claim to the imperial throne as Pretender-Holy Orenian Empress, though she garnered little global recognition.

Though never ascending to the role of Holy Orenian Empress, Princess Charlotte was briefly considered the "Grandmother of Oren", guiding the many step-grandchildren afforded to her by her remarriage in the absence of the late-Countess of Renzfeld. She is also known for her success in both the areas of charity, especially in her youth and diplomacy on behalf of the Empire. However, her departure from Oren and private conferences with the Orenian opposition following Philip III's Aster Revolution led Orenians to develop a poor image of her, and largely neglect her previous accomplishments.
