Halvar Edvardsson Ruric, King of Norland
|
|
Halvar was King of Norland from 1776 FA to 20 SA, successor to Caedric Edvardsson Ruric. He is the sixteenth King of Norland, and the second after its most recent reformation.
History
In the Inferi War, Halvar and his marshal, Donovan Freysson Ruric, led the Norlandic army to great success against the Inferi forces. Late in the war, they made use of the ship 'The Seahelm' to break the bridge to Korvassa, preventing any future attempt at a second disastrous charge by Orenian forces, though also in order to link up with the Dwarven armada. Halvar and The Seahelm later went on to level the Inferi occupied city of Vira'Kir, and destroy a number of Inferi behemoths.
Legacy
Halvar will be remembered as the King that guided Norland safely through the destruction of Morsgrad on the continent of Arcas and settled the Northern section of the continent of Nyrheim founding the new capital of the Kingdom of Norland, Varhelm. Under his rule, the strength of Norland both politically and militarily rose to levels not seen in centuries. Key among his accomplishments was the establishment of the Iron Accord, an alliance between the Kingdom of Norland, Kingdom of Haense, and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan.
