The Brothers' War, also referred to as the Orenian War for Succession or the Novellen Civil War, is a major internal conflict between Peter Augustus Novellen, and Frederick Charles Novellen. Due to Prince Peter and Prince Frederick both being sons of the deceased Philip III, Holy Orenian Emperor, the war earned its name as the Brother's War. The conflict began when both Emperor Philip III and Empress Anastasia I mysteriously passed away almost immediately following the conclusion of the War of the Wigs. The unexpected passing of both the ruling Monarchs of the Empire threw the realm into chaos, with two factions forming to claim the throne.
