The Skirmish of Osmonde-Östlandet , also known formerly as Battle of Dùnrath Fields is a minor military conflict between the 7th Brigade of the Imperial State Army of the Holy Orenian Empire (ISA) and the Citizens of the Jarldom of Dùnrath. It took place between the neighbourhoods of Osmonde and Östlandet in front of the plain fields of Oban Place. This was the first major military conflict since the establishment of the Jarldom of Dùnrath and the Imperial State Army won decisively due to the army being way more professional and the lack of preparation for a military conflict.

Prelude

Before the Skirmish, the Imperial State Army pillaged The Barony of Krew and the capital city of Norland at the time, Varhelm. And they decided to finish their operation by ending their raid at the Jarldom of Dùnrath, where they met major resistance from the citizens. The Jarl of Dùnrath at the time, Dùghlas Sutharlainn attempted to get into communication with the Varhelmite government for help but due to the Imperial State Army sabotaging all methods of communication, it was not feasible and hence Dùghlas Sutharlainn decided to close off the city and wait until the ISA to retreat.
After an hour of stand off, the ISA offered a battle of one hundred people from both sides. Dùghlas, seeing this as an opportunity to prevent further casualty in the rural areas of Dùnrath, accepted the offer and hence the battle happened by Oban Place, between Neighbourhoods of Osmonde and Östlandet.

Battle

The Battle started at Noon time on the 15th of the Grand Harvest. The ISA were all well equipped with horses, bows and swords, whereas the Rathonian Civilian Units were generally poorly equipped in comparison, with many of them not having a proper sword and have to choose to fight with Shovels. Furthermore, the ISA appeared to be more skilled with their formations and tactics and the Rathonians are not experienced enough since this was the first battle they have ever fought since the establishment of Dùnrath. The ISA mostly shot arrows at the Rathonians, which many of them don't have a bow and arrow on themselves.

Aftermath

The skirmish ended with a decisive Imperial Victory with only a few casualties on the Imperial Side. Right after the battle, the ISA decided to raid the Little Matilda Ranch, of which sparked the anti-Orenian sentiment in the Jarldom. This also caused the Jarl's decision to prolong the Marshal Law until year 69 of the Second Age as a social security measure for the time.
