Prelude

The War Nation of Krugmar once again breached the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Gladewynn much as they did years earlier when reaving, raiding and ravaging the former Dominion of Malin. As a result of this increased aggression, the King Kairn Ithelanen declared war on Krugmar for spilling Elven blood in organized attacks on the Capital. Soon after, Prince Cassius Horen of the Empire of Man visited an envoy of the Prince of Alders and established a lasting alliance for the duration of the Third Atlas Coalition War. Henceforth, the Empire of Man and Kingdom of Gladewynn marched together to put San'Kala to the sword.

Battle

Kairn Ithelanen of Gladewynn marched his Avchirran through the desert to meet with the Imperial host and combine forces. An emissary sent to Gladewynn to assist with drawing battle plans for the conflict to come, Prince Cassius Horen and the Prince of the Alders Kaz Ithelanen had planned to marshall their forces inside a small war camp on the cusp of the City of San'kala. Siege equipment and arrows were purchased from the Empire of Man by the Kingdom of Gladewynn for the siege in preparation, volley after volley was launched at the high walls to no avail. A small scouting party was encountered and mercilessly slaughtered as the men began laddering the walls and clambering to the top for their taste of glory against the Greentide.

Soon afterward, a hole was blasted into the mountain by means of the heavy fire from trebuchets and Prince Cassius and Ser Daniel led the bulk of the Alliance's forces into the City of San'kala. Heavy casualties were inflicted upon the first foray inside the walls, volleys of arrows taking out plenty of elves and men alike in the first wave. The army gathered crouched before an open gate and formed a shield wall to feebly protect themselves against arrow fire. Volley after volley was launched but the Empire of Man and the kingdoms of Haense and Gladewynn remained staunch in their opposition, crossing the burning grounds for the last gate into the fortress.

This monstrosity of a tower claimed many lives that day, looming over the center of San'kala where Orcish huts and shamble towns once lay; the gate was almost sundered open from the might of a battering ram when it had swung open, the inhabitants convinced they could annihilate many key figures of the Imperial Legion in one fell swoop. This proved to be the deciding moment of the battle and the armies roared and charged, a brave man screaming and holding onto the gate to keep it pried open for them. Orc, Nord, and Arrberang Rebel alike were slain as waves of men clad in black and purple rushed the steps and the garrison fell prey to the sword.

Thus ended the Siege of San'kala, the territory passing once again into the hands of the Kingdom of Gladewynn almost twenty years after the Black Horde had turned it over to the Iron Uzg, later to reform into the War Nation of Krugmar.
