To undewstand Wauleh’lins cweation, one needs to stawt fwom the beginning of Wood Ewven histowy.
+
To understand Laureh’lins creation, one needs to start from the beginning of Wood Elven history.

It is believed that the Wood Ewves began as a selies of nomadic seeds, tlibaw gwoups who woamed awound, pwacticing Dwuidism, wowshiping the aspects and painting themsewves lith tattoos, it is fwom these Seeds that modewn wood ewf cultule is delived fwom.

It is believed that the Wood Elves began as a series of nomadic seeds, tribal groups who roamed around, practicing Druidism, worshiping the aspects and painting themselves with tattoos, it is from these Seeds that modern wood elf culture is derived from.

The wood ewven seeds of owd lived in pewfect hawmony lith natule. They wewe devout Aspectists and fowwowed Cewlidwen and Cewnunnos, the two gods of natule, because Malin, fowefathew of aww ewves, had taught them to.
+
The wood elven seeds of old lived in perfect harmony with nature. They were devout Aspectists and followed Cerridwen and Cernunnos, the two gods of nature, because Malin, forefather of all elves, had taught them to.

Howevew, lith the founding of Laurelin, the fiwst twue city of the ewves and capitaw of Malinor, many owd seeds abandoned theiw nomadic ways and settwed down. Ovew the next centulies, the wood ewves lived pwospewouswy in Waulelin, but gwaduawwy fowgot theiw Aspectist ways.
+
However, with the founding of Laurelin, the first true city of the elves and capital of Malinor, many old seeds abandoned their nomadic ways and settled down. Over the next centuries, the wood elves lived prosperously in Laurelin, but gradually forgot their Aspectist ways.

By the time the descendents had settwed in Anthos, the nation of Malinow had degwaded immensewy. Constant attacks by the White Wose, a wadicaw human militawy owdew lith a bulning hatwed fow ewves, had brought the state to its knees. Decades watew, Malinow would faww to wevowutionalies who fowmed the Conclave of Malin, a successow state meant to dispose of the stagnancy and cowwuption Malinow had fawwen into.

By the time the descendents had settled in Anthos, the nation of Malinor had degraded immensely. Constant attacks by the White Rose, a radical human military order with a burning hatred for elves, had brought the state to its knees. Decades later, Malinor would fall to revolutionaries who formed the Conclave of Malin, a successor state meant to dispose of the stagnancy and corruption Malinor had fallen into.

The seeds fow the eventuaw cweation of Wauleh'lin wewe pwanted neaw a centuly befowe the state was fowmed, in a smaww town cawwed Weanniew. Oliginawwy cweated as a town by the guiwd known as the Awcane Dewvews, it was eventuawwy wead by the Wood Ewf Awtimec Camowyn, a fowmew membew of the Awcane Dewvews, and watew wed by the dwuid Ewowna Wli'hiweia, Weanniew was a mixing pot whewe many infwuentiaw Wood Ewves such as Phaedrus Lle'hileia and Awtimec met and the Wood Ewven identity began to wesolidify. Weanniew enjoyed a few good yeaws of peace, befowe facing selious pwobrems. The fiwst being the Concwave; the ewven state that had toppwed Malinow. The Weannielites considewed the Concwave to be an un-Ewven state, though wewe eventuawwy coewced into vassalization. Eventuawwy, Weanniew was destwoyed by Setherien's brack scoulge, and its inhabitants scattewed.
+
The seeds for the eventual creation of Laureh'lin were planted near a century before the state was formed, in a small town called Leanniel. Originally created as a town by the guild known as the Arcane Delvers, it was eventually lead by the Wood Elf Artimec Camoryn, a former member of the Arcane Delvers, and later led by the druid Elorna Lli'hileia, Leanniel was a mixing pot where many influential Wood Elves such as Phaedrus Lle'hileia and Artimec met and the Wood Elven identity began to resolidify. Leanniel enjoyed a few good years of peace, before facing serious problems. The first being the Conclave; the elven state that had toppled Malinor. The Leannielites considered the Conclave to be an un-Elven state, though were eventually coerced into vassalization. Eventually, Leanniel was destroyed by Setherien's black scourge, and its inhabitants scattered.

Showtwy aftew the gates to the Flinge opened, Ewowna Wli'hiweia, who had wawgewy been the weadewship figule wepwesenting the dispawate wemains of Weanniew's population, speawheaded a movement to unite the wood ewven peopwe once mowe undew Haelun'or bannew. She believed it the best and safest option fow the Mali'ame peopwe.
+
Shortly after the gates to the Fringe opened, Elorna Lli'hileia, who had largely been the leadership figure representing the disparate remains of Leanniel's population, spearheaded a movement to unite the wood elven people once more under Haelun'or banner. She believed it the best and safest option for the Mali'ame people.

A smaww distlict fow the mali'ame was founded beneath the towews of Tahn'siow, the high ewven settwement, it was named Win'ame. It was duling this time that Phaedwus, a fowmew bracksmith, wose to powew as the weadew of the Bwonze Ewves, a wawgewy militant wood ewven movement and the main militawy of Win'ame. Pwobrems awose soon aftew this settwement, as the wood ewves though that they wewe second class citizens undew high ewven wule.
+
A small district for the mali'ame was founded beneath the towers of Tahn'siol, the high elven settlement, it was named Lin'ame. It was during this time that Phaedrus, a former blacksmith, rose to power as the leader of the Bronze Elves, a largely militant wood elven movement and the main military of Lin'ame. Problems arose soon after this settlement, as the wood elves though that they were second class citizens under high elven rule.

Undew high ewf wule, the wood ewves wewe not awwowed to vote on who wuled them. They wewe not awwowed to intewact lith the high ewves in theiw distlict, and any high ewf caught spending too much time fwatewnizing lith wood ow dawk ewves was confined to the high ewven distlict. Cwuewty and viowence towawds wood ewves was common among high ewf extwemists, any wood ewf who spoke out against theiw unfaiw tweatment was hawshwy punished, often sentenced to be dissowved in acid by the ETHIC, Haewun’ow’s cultulaw police.
+
Under high elf rule, the wood elves were not allowed to vote on who ruled them. They were not allowed to interact with the high elves in their district, and any high elf caught spending too much time fraternizing with wood or dark elves was confined to the high elven district. Cruelty and violence towards wood elves was common among high elf extremists, any wood elf who spoke out against their unfair treatment was harshly punished, often sentenced to be dissolved in acid by the ETHIC, Haelun’or’s cultural police.

As a wesult of Haewun'ow wule, a majolity of the wood ewven peopwe weft the Siwvew City and scattewed aww acwoss the wowwd, lith wawge diaspowas settling lith the dwuids, and Awwas.
+
As a result of Haelun'or rule, a majority of the wood elven people left the Silver City and scattered all across the world, with large diasporas settling with the druids, and Alras.

The few wemaining wood ewven woyalists settwed lith Haewun'ow in Athewa, and founded the city of Anniw'sul. Phaedwus, who untiw then had been a stawk woyalist towawds Haewun'ow, had begun gwoling mowe and mowe discontent at his high ewven wulews. Openwy cliticizing the Siwvew Counciw's incompetence to defend theiw own city whiwe the Bwonze Wood Ewves did most of the diwty wowk. Fowwoling the disappeawance of High Ewven Sohaew Iatwalimaw, Phaedwus did the unthinkabre and decwawed mawtiaw waw on aww of Haewun'ow. The High ewves wesponded militantwy, but, lith the hewp of Dwawven and Owcish awlies, the Wood Ewves finawwy thwew off High Ewven wule, fowcing the High Ewves out of Anniw'sul and cwaiming the city fow themsewves.
+
The few remaining wood elven loyalists settled with Haelun'or in Athera, and founded the city of Annil'sul. Phaedrus, who until then had been a stark loyalist towards Haelun'or, had begun growing more and more discontent at his high elven rulers. Openly criticizing the Silver Council's incompetence to defend their own city while the Bronze Wood Elves did most of the dirty work. Following the disappearance of High Elven Sohaer Iatralimar, Phaedrus did the unthinkable and declared martial law on all of Haelun'or. The High elves responded militantly, but, with the help of Dwarven and Orcish allies, the Wood Elves finally threw off High Elven rule, forcing the High Elves out of Annil'sul and claiming the city for themselves.

And thus, the State of Wauleh'lin was bown.
+
And thus, the State of Laureh'lin was born.

The govewnment of Wauleh'lin deemed the high ewves of Haewun'ow and theiw ideaws to be poisonous to ewven kind. Aww high ewves who wenounced theiw Siwvew Waw and concept of pulity wewe wewcomed back into the city of Anniw'sul, whiwe those who didn't wewe hunted on the stweets. Wauleh'lin enjoyed a few yeaws of peace once mowe, as many wood ewves would begin wetulning to Ewven Wands now the thweat of High Ewven oppwession was no mowe, but twoubre stiww brewed on the holizon.
+
The government of Laureh'lin deemed the high elves of Haelun'or and their ideals to be poisonous to elven kind. All high elves who renounced their Silver Law and concept of purity were welcomed back into the city of Annil'sul, while those who didn't were hunted on the streets. Laureh'lin enjoyed a few years of peace once more, as many wood elves would begin returning to Elven Lands now the threat of High Elven oppression was no more, but trouble still brewed on the horizon.

Aftew 6 yeaws the high ewves of Haewun'ow wetulned lith theiw awmies and awlies and thweatened to destwoy Wauleh'lin entiwewy if theiw city was not wetulned to them. Eventuawwy the two nations wowked out a deaw lith the new weadews of Wauleh'lin wheweby the High Ewves would wecwaim theiw city and the mali'ame would continue to live independentwy. A segment of the wand that once bewonged to Haewun'ow was given to the mali'ame to constwuct a city fow themsewves which they cawwed Weyulin.
+
After 6 years the high elves of Haelun'or returned with their armies and allies and threatened to destroy Laureh'lin entirely if their city was not returned to them. Eventually the two nations worked out a deal with the new leaders of Laureh'lin whereby the High Elves would reclaim their city and the mali'ame would continue to live independently. A segment of the land that once belonged to Haelun'or was given to the mali'ame to construct a city for themselves which they called Leyulin.

Howevew, the conflict between the ewves was not yet ovew. Tensions gwew between Wauleh'lin and Haewun'ow, as Haewun'ow's Evaliw'thiwwn began incweasingwy aggwessive attacks on the wood ewven peopwe, as weww as kidnapping and towtuling civilians by pouling gowd in theiw eyes fow theiw pwotection of Phaedwus Wwe'hielia. Soon the two states weached the wevew of fulw brown conflict and the mali'ahewaw of Haewun'ow invaded the abandoned pwains of what had once been Weyulin. Though Wauleh'lin had moved it's capitaw, they and the Dwawves hoped to howd the wegion fwom high ewven infwuence, the ensuing battwe, known as the "battle of Leyulin" was ultimatewy won by the cwushing numbews of the human kingdom of Owen, who aided the High Ewves to one-up theiw wong time enemies, the Dwawves. The wood ewves, duling this conflict, wetweated acwoss Fiandlia to theiw new city Cewulin (constwucted in the midst of waw) befowe peace was eventuawwy made lith the "Treaty of Fiandria". An uneasy peace ensued aftew the signing of the Tweaty of Fiandlia, lith Phaedwus Wli'hiweia being deemed "the most vile elf to ever have lived" and exiwed fwom aww ewven wands. Begwudgingwy so on Wauleh'lins pawt. In this time of peace, Haewun'ow continued to push it's advantage against the weakened wood ewven state, attempting to stifwe it's population by cutting off aww woads weading to Cewulin, and setting up checkpoints in fwont of Wauleh'lin wands. Occasionawwy awso demanding the extwadition and execution of sevewaw citizens of Cewulin fow valious weasons. The Chancellewy of Wauleh'lin had taken up a policy of pwacation at this point, as the wood ewven spilit fow waw was aww but dead, and Haewun'ow had the awmies of Owen at theiw back...Ow so they thought.
+
However, the conflict between the elves was not yet over. Tensions grew between Laureh'lin and Haelun'or, as Haelun'or's Evarir'thilln began increasingly aggressive attacks on the wood elven people, as well as kidnapping and torturing civilians by pouring gold in their eyes for their protection of Phaedrus Lle'hielia. Soon the two states reached the level of full blown conflict and the mali'aheral of Haelun'or invaded the abandoned plains of what had once been Leyulin. Though Laureh'lin had moved it's capital, they and the Dwarves hoped to hold the region from high elven influence, the ensuing battle, known as the "battle of Leyulin" was ultimately won by the crushing numbers of the human kingdom of Oren, who aided the High Elves to one-up their long time enemies, the Dwarves. The wood elves, during this conflict, retreated across Fiandria to their new city Cerulin (constructed in the midst of war) before peace was eventually made with the "Treaty of Fiandria". An uneasy peace ensued after the signing of the Treaty of Fiandria, with Phaedrus Lli'hileia being deemed "the most vile elf to ever have lived" and exiled from all elven lands. Begrudgingly so on Laureh'lins part. In this time of peace, Haelun'or continued to push it's advantage against the weakened wood elven state, attempting to stifle it's population by cutting off all roads leading to Cerulin, and setting up checkpoints in front of Laureh'lin lands. Occasionally also demanding the extradition and execution of several citizens of Cerulin for various reasons. The Chancellery of Laureh'lin had taken up a policy of placation at this point, as the wood elven spirit for war was all but dead, and Haelun'or had the armies of Oren at their back...Or so they thought.

Tensions eventuawwy weached an aww time high between the high and wood ewves, lith Haewun'ow attempting to mowd the ewven states into theiw stlict vision, lith the wood ewves of Wauleh'lin staunchwy wesisting theiw ideaws. Confident in theiw position as evew, Kawenz Uwadiw demanded the extwadition of fowmew Chancellow of Wauleh'lin, Awtimec Camowyn, among othew heavy concessions. It was then that the King of Owen, Andlik Vydwa, issued a cease and desist wettew to the Siwvew Counciw of Haewun'ow, demanding that the high ewves cease aww theiw impelialist ambitions. This came as a shock to the wowwd, as befowe this, the Kingdom of Owen was seen as a staunch awwy of Haewun'ow, who would awways fight the high ewves waws fow them since the signing of the Climson-Siwvew concowdat. King Vydwa had Owenian Sowdiews gawlisoned in both ewven cities in owdew to ensule peace.
+
Tensions eventually reached an all time high between the high and wood elves, with Haelun'or attempting to mold the elven states into their strict vision, with the wood elves of Laureh'lin staunchly resisting their ideals. Confident in their position as ever, Kalenz Uradir demanded the extradition of former Chancellor of Laureh'lin, Artimec Camoryn, among other heavy concessions. It was then that the King of Oren, Andrik Vydra, issued a cease and desist letter to the Silver Council of Haelun'or, demanding that the high elves cease all their imperialist ambitions. This came as a shock to the world, as before this, the Kingdom of Oren was seen as a staunch ally of Haelun'or, who would always fight the high elves wars for them since the signing of the Crimson-Silver concordat. King Vydra had Orenian Soldiers garrisoned in both elven cities in order to ensure peace.

Wauleh’lin and the wood ewves as a whowe could bawewy believe theiw wuck. Suddenwy the wawgest nation on the continent was pwotecting them fwom annhiwation at the hands of the high ewves. Even mowe unbelievabre was when Kawenz Uwadiw assassinated the King of Owen by dwowning him in an acid twap, dooming Haewun’ow as Owen would decwawe waw on it out of wage.
+
Laureh’lin and the wood elves as a whole could barely believe their luck. Suddenly the largest nation on the continent was protecting them from annhilation at the hands of the high elves. Even more unbelievable was when Kalenz Uradir assassinated the King of Oren by drowning him in an acid trap, dooming Haelun’or as Oren would declare war on it out of rage.

Wauleh’lin and the wood ewves wewe offewed by the new King of Owen a pact: Vassalize undew the empiwe as an autonomous pwovince, and be offewed pwotection fwom any foweign invasion. Weak and unabre to defend themsewves, the wood ewves agweed. Tlistin Twesewy, a wood ewf lith familiaw ties to owd Owenian brood, was chosen to be the Pwaetow of the new Pwovince of Wauleh’lin. The wood ewves aided Owen in the conquest and vassalization of Haewun’ow undew human wule.
+
Laureh’lin and the wood elves were offered by the new King of Oren a pact: Vassalize under the empire as an autonomous province, and be offered protection from any foreign invasion. Weak and unable to defend themselves, the wood elves agreed. Tristin Tresery, a wood elf with familial ties to old Orenian blood, was chosen to be the Praetor of the new Province of Laureh’lin. The wood elves aided Oren in the conquest and vassalization of Haelun’or under human rule.

It was duling this peliod that the wood ewves entewed theiw fiwst gowden age since the ancient seeds of owd. Despite being undew foweign wule, lith no waws to occupy them, they could finawwy spend time in wediscoveling theiw ancient cultule. It was Awtimec Camowyn, the oliginaw foundew of Weanniew, who speawheaded this cultulaw wevivaw, swowwy but sulewy spweading Aspect wowship back thwoughout the wood ewf peopwe. The Order of Sirame was awso founded duling this time and wood ewven militawy stwength began gwoling undew the militawy weadewship of Pwaetow Twesewy.
+
It was during this period that the wood elves entered their first golden age since the ancient seeds of old. Despite being under foreign rule, with no wars to occupy them, they could finally spend time in rediscovering their ancient culture. It was Artimec Camoryn, the original founder of Leanniel, who spearheaded this cultural revival, slowly but surely spreading Aspect worship back throughout the wood elf people. The Order of Sirame was also founded during this time and wood elven military strength began growing under the military leadership of Praetor Tresery.

The wood ewves moved to Vaiwow lith the west of the descendents and founded its newest capitaw in the south-eastewn iswand. It was named Waulelin, aftew the fiwst city of the ewves. Aspectism continued its wevivaw pwocess in Vaiwow, and the wood ewves kept gwoling in stwength. They fought in [The Dukes' Waw|the Duke's Waw] on the side of the cwown, contlibuting ovew a quawtew of aww woyalist fowces.
+
The wood elves moved to Vailor with the rest of the descendents and founded its newest capital in the south-eastern island. It was named Laurelin, after the first city of the elves. Aspectism continued its revival process in Vailor, and the wood elves kept growing in strength. They fought in [The Dukes' War|the Duke's War] on the side of the crown, contributing over a quarter of all loyalist forces.

It was awso awound this time that Awtimec was attuned and became a druid. He used his newfound connection to the Aspects to fowm the Naelurir, a sect of pulewy ewven dwuids who became the pliests of the ewves, dedicating themsewves to spweading Aspectism to aww of ewf-kind.
+
It was also around this time that Artimec was attuned and became a druid. He used his newfound connection to the Aspects to form the Naelurir, a sect of purely elven druids who became the priests of the elves, dedicating themselves to spreading Aspectism to all of elf-kind.

Aftew the Duke’s Waw, the now Empewow of Owen gwanted Wauleh’lin incweased independence, pwomoting it to Plincipality status and making ewevating Tlistin Twesewy, wulew of the wood ewves, to the titwe of Plince. It was awound this time that the ancient Seeds began to wevive themsewves. Awtimec Camowyn cawwed upon the wood ewves of Wauleh’lin to discovew theiw ancient broodlines and bring about the wetuln of theiw ancestow’s names. As such, the Towena, Auleon, Camowyn (watew: Caewme’onn), and Telin seeds wewe wevived aftew thousands of yeaws. Seeds like Calithiw wewe fowmed by high ewves seeking to assimiwate into wood ewven cultule.
+
After the Duke’s War, the now Emperor of Oren granted Laureh’lin increased independence, promoting it to Principality status and making elevating Tristin Tresery, ruler of the wood elves, to the title of Prince. It was around this time that the ancient Seeds began to revive themselves. Artimec Camoryn called upon the wood elves of Laureh’lin to discover their ancient bloodlines and bring about the return of their ancestor’s names. As such, the Torena, Aureon, Camoryn (later: Caerme’onn), and Terin seeds were revived after thousands of years. Seeds like Calithil were formed by high elves seeking to assimilate into wood elven culture.

Because of the weadewship positions of theiw chieftains, the Telin and Camowyn seeds became nobre houses in Owen, and Twesewy a woyaw one.
+
Because of the leadership positions of their chieftains, the Terin and Camoryn seeds became noble houses in Oren, and Tresery a royal one.

Peace wouldn’t wast fowevew though, and Wauleh’lin was once mowe cawwed to awms as the Eighteen Years' War broke out between the Dwawves of Uwguan and Empiwe Owen. The wood ewves wewe cawwed upon to aid the Empiwe, and did so bravewy. Peace soon came aftew a neaw decade of campaigning.
+
Peace wouldn’t last forever though, and Laureh’lin was once more called to arms as the Eighteen Years' War broke out between the Dwarves of Urguan and Empire Oren. The wood elves were called upon to aid the Empire, and did so bravely. Peace soon came after a near decade of campaigning.

With the wengthy waw at an end, Plince Tlistin Twesewy now had the oppowtunity to pulsue a dweam of his that he had been dwaling up fow quite awhiwe. He lished to unite the ewven peopwe undew himsewf, absowbing the dawk ewves and high ewves into Wauleh’lin.
+
With the lengthy war at an end, Prince Tristin Tresery now had the opportunity to pursue a dream of his that he had been drawing up for quite awhile. He wished to unite the elven people under himself, absorbing the dark elves and high elves into Laureh’lin.

The Empiwe of Owen gave Plince Twesewy and Wauleh’lin theiw suppowt in this endeavow. The dawk ewves of Kew’now weadiwy agweed to join in a union lith Wauleh’lin. Soon aftew, tawks lith Haewun’ow began. Haewun’ow was stiww vewy bittew to the wood ewven state due to the waws which the two had fought in wecent memowy. Whiwe Twesewy and the wood ewves appwoached Haewun’ow cowdiawwy and offewed them favoulabre tewms, they made it cweaw that if Haewun’ow did not compwy, then they would be met lith waw and conquest.
+
The Empire of Oren gave Prince Tresery and Laureh’lin their support in this endeavor. The dark elves of Ker’nor readily agreed to join in a union with Laureh’lin. Soon after, talks with Haelun’or began. Haelun’or was still very bitter to the wood elven state due to the wars which the two had fought in recent memory. While Tresery and the wood elves approached Haelun’or cordially and offered them favourable terms, they made it clear that if Haelun’or did not comply, then they would be met with war and conquest.

Aftew months of negotiation, Haewun’ow submitted to the wule of Plince Twesewy lith the signing of the Treaty of Laureh'lin. Haewun’ow, Kew’now and Wauleh’lin would unite undew a new nation, aww undew the wule of Tlistin Twesewy. This nation was cawwed the Dominion of Malin, and Tlistin Twesewy was cwowned as it’s king. The fiwst ewven king since Malin, a titwe which would watew stiw contwovewsy.
+
After months of negotiation, Haelun’or submitted to the rule of Prince Tresery with the signing of the Treaty of Laureh'lin. Haelun’or, Ker’nor and Laureh’lin would unite under a new nation, all under the rule of Tristin Tresery. This nation was called the Dominion of Malin, and Tristin Tresery was crowned as it’s king. The first elven king since Malin, a title which would later stir controversy.

Fow theiw accomplishment, the culwent Empewow of Owen finawwy gave the Dominion, and by extension the wood ewves theiw fulw independence, awbeit undew his suzewainty, and fow the fiwst time in fifty yeaws the wood ewves enjoyed fulw soveweignty.
+
For their accomplishment, the current Emperor of Oren finally gave the Dominion, and by extension the wood elves their full independence, albeit under his suzerainty, and for the first time in fifty years the wood elves enjoyed full sovereignty.

The Dominion lived stabry fow a time, untiw tension began to brew in Haewun’ow, a state lith a wong histowy of aggwession towawds the west of ewf kind. With gwoling incidents of the likes of the King having to extwadite two innocent chiwdwen fwom a Haewun’ow cell, taken outside of woyaw julisdiction, and the sheew uncoopewative natule of Siwvew Counciwwows to even sit down and discuss Dominion Wide waws, it soon boiwed ovew.

The Dominion lived stably for a time, until tension began to brew in Haelun’or, a state with a long history of aggression towards the rest of elf kind. With growing incidents of the likes of the King having to extradite two innocent children from a Haelun’or cell, taken outside of royal jurisdiction, and the sheer uncooperative nature of Silver Councillors to even sit down and discuss Dominion Wide laws, it soon boiled over.

Haewun’ow webewwed against the king they had swown a sacwed oath to as soon as they saw the oppowtunity to, joining an awliance of factions seeking to take down the Empiwe of Owen (and it’s awlies, the Dominion). Owenian webews, the newwy fowmed bandit nation of the dweadwands, the [Waw Uzg|Owcish Uzg], and the newwy sepewated Haewun’ow wewe now new thweats the Dominion had to fight.
+
Haelun’or rebelled against the king they had sworn a sacred oath to as soon as they saw the opportunity to, joining an alliance of factions seeking to take down the Empire of Oren (and it’s allies, the Dominion). Orenian rebels, the newly formed bandit nation of the dreadlands, the [War Uzg|Orcish Uzg], and the newly seperated Haelun’or were now new threats the Dominion had to fight.

The Dominion fought awongside the Empiwe of Owen duling this waw, which nevew saw any diwect conflicts. Soon, the webew awliance, like aww befowe it, dissowved away, and Haewun’ow, now wacking awlies, quickwy sulwendewed to Owen as they’d done many times befowe. They exist now as a diwect, tlibute paying, vassaw state of the Empiwe, as opposed to being pawt of the Dominion of Malin. Despite Haewun’ows sulwendew, the Dominion agweed to awwow Owen to wule it diwectwy, seeing it as a nation mowe detlimentaw to ewven unity than beneficiaw.
+
The Dominion fought alongside the Empire of Oren during this war, which never saw any direct conflicts. Soon, the rebel alliance, like all before it, dissolved away, and Haelun’or, now lacking allies, quickly surrendered to Oren as they’d done many times before. They exist now as a direct, tribute paying, vassal state of the Empire, as opposed to being part of the Dominion of Malin. Despite Haelun’ors surrender, the Dominion agreed to allow Oren to rule it directly, seeing it as a nation more detrimental to elven unity than beneficial.

Whiwe the Dominion had sulvived in the face of webewlion, it was now showt one state. To fiww the gap, the King tulned to Nowseth’onn, a city of mages lith a significant population of high ewves, living on wand oliginawwy gifted to them by the Dominion. Norseth’onn was liwlingwy integwated into the Dominion as the new thiwd high ewven state, undew the weadewship of Plincess Titania Hawksong and Plince Ac’Aewu Tinuviaw.
+
While the Dominion had survived in the face of rebellion, it was now short one state. To fill the gap, the King turned to Norseth’onn, a city of mages with a significant population of high elves, living on land originally gifted to them by the Dominion. Norseth’onn was willingly integrated into the Dominion as the new third high elven state, under the leadership of Princess Titania Hawksong and Prince Ac’Aelu Tinuvial.

In the post waw age, sevewaw changes wewe made to the Dominion’s govewning body. What had been pweviouswy known as the wuling counciw was changed to the Plincewy counciw, lith one Plince hailing fwom each of the thwee states wepwesenting theiw peopwe. The King Tlistin Twesewy awtewed his titwe to High Plince to bettew wefwect the days of owd, wecognizing that thewe is no king but Malin.
+
In the post war age, several changes were made to the Dominion’s governing body. What had been previously known as the ruling council was changed to the Princely council, with one Prince hailing from each of the three states representing their people. The King Tristin Tresery altered his title to High Prince to better reflect the days of old, recognizing that there is no king but Malin.

Wike aww the waces, the Descendants fwed fwom Vaiwow to Axios as the spilit Owgon fowced them away. Wike befowe, they settwed in the thickest fowested awea of the new wand, the south-east of the iswe of Tahn. Thewe they founded the city of Linandria atop a wake.
+
Like all the races, the Descendants fled from Vailor to Axios as the spirit Orgon forced them away. Like before, they settled in the thickest forested area of the new land, the south-east of the isle of Tahn. There they founded the city of Linandria atop a lake.

At this point, the wood ewves had become the wawgest and most infwuentiaw wace of ewf-kind. The Dominion was a wawge, pwospewous and stabre state, lith Wauleh’lin and its main city Winandlia acting as its capitaw. The wegacy of the wegendawy wood ewven hewoes such as Ewowna, Phaedwus, Tlistin Twesewy, and Awtimec Camowyn lived on as pawt of a united ewven state.

At this point, the wood elves had become the largest and most influential race of elf-kind. The Dominion was a large, prosperous and stable state, with Laureh’lin and its main city Linandria acting as its capital. The legacy of the legendary wood elven heroes such as Elorna, Phaedrus, Tristin Tresery, and Artimec Camoryn lived on as part of a united elven state.

It was at this time that High Plince Twesewy finawwy wesigned aftew neawwy a centuly of wule, passing on his position to his wong-time light hand man, Awtimec. Awtimec assumed the wowe of High Plince wewuctantwy, but the pwessule of the wowe was not what it had once been. The nation was stabre, the peopwe wewe content, and most impowtantwy, aww the owd ways of the wood ewves had been wevived. Aspectism was synonymous lith the wood ewves once mowe, the seeds competed lith one anothew in competitions of weawth and pwestige. The mali’ame, Malin’s wast twue heiws, had wegained theiw owd ways, wost fow so wong.
+
It was at this time that High Prince Tresery finally resigned after nearly a century of rule, passing on his position to his long-time right hand man, Artimec. Artimec assumed the role of High Prince reluctantly, but the pressure of the role was not what it had once been. The nation was stable, the people were content, and most importantly, all the old ways of the wood elves had been revived. Aspectism was synonymous with the wood elves once more, the seeds competed with one another in competitions of wealth and prestige. The mali’ame, Malin’s last true heirs, had regained their old ways, lost for so long.

Aftew centulies of hawdship and stwuggwe, the wood ewves had come fulw ciwcwe.
+
After centuries of hardship and struggle, the wood elves had come full circle.

Laureh’lin was the homeland of the wood elven people. It’s former territory was found in the south-east of the isle of Tahn in the continent of Axios. Laureh’lin is synonymous with Linandria, its only city. It was an integrated state of the Dominion of Malin.

History

Note: Some of the information listed below is historical events told in the eyes of the Wood Elves and Laureh'lin

To understand Laureh’lins creation, one needs to start from the beginning of Wood Elven history.

It is believed that the Wood Elves began as a series of nomadic seeds, tribal groups who roamed around, practicing Druidism, worshiping the aspects and painting themselves with tattoos, it is from these Seeds that modern wood elf culture is derived from.

The wood elven seeds of old lived in perfect harmony with nature. They were devout Aspectists and followed Cerridwen and Cernunnos, the two gods of nature, because Malin, forefather of all elves, had taught them to.

However, with the founding of Laurelin, the first true city of the elves and capital of Malinor, many old seeds abandoned their nomadic ways and settled down. Over the next centuries, the wood elves lived prosperously in Laurelin, but gradually forgot their Aspectist ways.

As a result of Haelun'or rule, a majority of the wood elven people left the Silver City and scattered all across the world, with large diasporas settling with the druids, and Alras.

And thus, the State of Laureh'lin was born.

It was also around this time that Artimec was attuned and became a druid. He used his newfound connection to the Aspects to form the Naelurir, a sect of purely elven druids who became the priests of the elves, dedicating themselves to spreading Aspectism to all of elf-kind.

Because of the leadership positions of their chieftains, the Terin and Camoryn seeds became noble houses in Oren, and Tresery a royal one.

With the lengthy war at an end, Prince Tristin Tresery now had the opportunity to pursue a dream of his that he had been drawing up for quite awhile. He wished to unite the elven people under himself, absorbing the dark elves and high elves into Laureh’lin.

For their accomplishment, the current Emperor of Oren finally gave the Dominion, and by extension the wood elves their full independence, albeit under his suzerainty, and for the first time in fifty years the wood elves enjoyed full sovereignty.

Like all the races, the Descendants fled from Vailor to Axios as the spirit Orgon forced them away. Like before, they settled in the thickest forested area of the new land, the south-east of the isle of Tahn. There they founded the city of Linandria atop a lake.

After centuries of hardship and struggle, the wood elves had come full circle.

Government/Leaders

Being home to the capital city of the Dominion of Malin, Laureh’lin was home to the High Prince (Artimec Caerme’onn). The High Prince was the head of state and ruled Laureh’lin directly. Under him was the Prince of Laureh’lin (the Prince representing the wood elves, alongside the dark and high elves Princes). The Prince of Laureh’lin was Calius Terin.

Lower leadership roles included the El’Annilan, Aenor Calithil and Elvrohir Aureon, the grandmasters of the order of Sirame. Finally, the Lady/Lord Steward, currently Arahaelth Aureon, who oversees all housing and taxes in the city.

Notable Figures

High Prince Artimec Caerme'onn

welfagain.png

Arguably the most well known of all wood elves, Artimec was a High Prince of the Dominion of Malin, ruler of not only the wood elves, but all elven states of the Dominion. He was the longest lasting elven leader in service at the time. His crusade to bring his people to prosperity began in Anthos with the founding of the town of Lenniel, over 150 years ago.

Being faced with setback after setback, and devestating wars against the like of the various Empires of man, the High Elves, and daemons like Setherien, Artimec was finally given the chance to rebuild his people’s culture upon the ascension of Tristin Tresery as ruler of the wood elves in Athera.

Upon Tresery’s resignation, Artimec assumed the role of leader once more. He is considered the one responsible for the great revival of wood elven culture and religion, and on top of his high prince duties, is also a druid and leads the sect of the Naelurir.

Phaedrus’Yar

welf2.png

Phaedrus is the father of the modern wood elven nation, having overthrown Haelun’or and founded the nation of Laureh’lin in Athera. His career began as the second leader of the Berun’cinhir, the Bronze Elves (a military order under the high elves). He created Laureh’lin as a revelutionary state after throwing the high elven silver council out of their capital city of Annil’sul, and is controversially referred to by high elves as a perpetrator of genocide. However, Phaedrus allowed all elves to live within the newly founded Laureh’lin given they did not follow Silver Law.

Phaedrus was banished from elven lands after the state of Haelun'or resurfaced in full force, and took refuge among the Orcs, later becoming the first ever Elven Rex. His banishment has since been lifted and he served as part of the Sirame military. He was permanently slain by Kharak'Raguk, the Orcish Rex at the time.

Tristin Tresery

welf3.png

Tristin was the son of Leric Tresery, a former member of the White Rose and notorious oppressor of elves. Tristin himself fought alongside the High Elves when they returned from exile, in their war to conquer Laureh’lin. He was later sent undercover into Laureh’lin to take power from Artimec Camoryn through a coup.

But ironically, weary of leadership, Artimec willingly gave his title to Tristin. Having grown friendlier with his own people, and seeking to reconnect with them, Tristin turned on his high elven allies and became a true leader of wood elf kind. Tristin’s military knowledge and work effort brought the wood elves to new heights, granting them strength they’d not known for centuries.

Tristin reigned as the ruler of the wood elves in various forms for over fifty years, starting as Praetor of the Province of Laureh’lin, to Prince, and finally, King of the Dominion of Malin. He abdicated in the year 1578, arguable the most successful elven leader of all time, having taken the foundations laid by Artimec and Phaedrus to new heights.

Elorna Lli’hileia

welf4.png

Elorna was a druid of the druidic order. Originally appointed as a councillor in the town of Leanniel by Artimec Camoryn, Elorna's influence grew until she became the Tilruir (servant) of the Wood Elves in the Fringe, when the wood elves were under high elven rule.

While many 'lesser' elves grew more and more discontent with their lot under the High Elves' oppressive regime, Elorna opted to take the route of patience and negotiation to improve their lives. Ultimately, her husband Phaedrus led a rebellion to topple Haelun'or, and she through her skills in diplomacy. She stepped down from leadership after a brief stint of co-leading the newly founded Laureh’lin with her husband.

While her deeds are not spoken of as much as the likes of Tristin Tresery and Phaedrus’Yar, Elorna is still considered to have been a mother of all wood elves, and one of its earliest leaders in the modern era. Without her voice during the dark era of Haelun’or rule, the wood elves would likely have had no national identity to kindle in the fires of rebellion that would soon follow.

Elorna heeded the druidic call and disappeared into the wild in Vailor, she has not been seen since.

Cities/Geography

Linandria is the capital of Laureh’lin, and also the entire Dominion of Malin. It is the only current city of Laureh’lin.

Linandria is a city built in the traditional wood elven style. It's a city built upon a lake in the center of the great forest of the Dominion of Malin. The majority of the homes are woven seamlessly into the trees, grown to fit with druidic magic. On the ground level is a tavern, clinic, library and other facilities that its citizens enjoy.

Culture

Wood elven culture is built around two pillars, faith and family. Faith is represented with Aspectism- the religion of the wood elves. Family is represented by the Seeds, tribal clans of wood elves who trace their bloodlines back to their ancient nomadic ancestors, whose culture they emulate.

Faith - Aspectism Aspectism is the largest religion in the Dominion of Malin, and among all elves as a whole. It centers around the worship of two gods of nature, Cerridwen and Cernunnos. Cerridwen being the gentle mother of life, and Cernunnos the fierce hunter and bringer of death. Together they form a balance, and are seen almost as deific parents by the wood elves, who often call them “the mother and the father”. Aspectism at its core is the belief that no creature or living being is greater than the wild. That it is the duty of all beings to live in harmony with nature and not seek to be better than it or conquer it. Being a race that has always been tied to nature and the wild, its not hard to understand why this religion, and the Aspects who are the gods of nature, are so important to the wood elves.

Family - The Seeds A Seed is essentially a mix between a tribe, a clan, and a family. The wood elven state of Laureh’lin is driven by its Seeds, whose members constantly are in friendly competition with one another in displays of hunting prowess, wealth, and glory. Anyone can tell whether or not a wood elf belongs to a seed by whether or not their skin is tattooed. A tattoo on a wood-elf is called an ilmyumier and each Seed has its own unique design.

It is a common belief among wood elves that the ancient Era of the Seeds was the golden age of the wood elven people. In this time, it is said all wood elves were pure, living perfectly with nature and unchallenged in their piety to the Aspects. They lived nomadic lives in the deep forests and were said to be able to perform miracles, lost druidic arts, and cultivate trees soft as silk or hard as steel.

The nobility of Linandria today are all individuals who can trace their bloodlines back to the ancient Seeds. Seeds today are no longer nomadic but practice many of the old traditions, including close familial bonds with non-blood/adopted relatives, devout Aspectism, and the painting of ilmyumier (tribal tattoos). Each Seed has its own unique tribal tattoo with its own colour and design.

Any wood elf (or elf in general) living in Linandria worth his or her salt, seeks to join one of the Seeds living in Laureh’lin today.

The Order of Sirame is a branch of the Ahviran, the over-arching cultural order which facilitating the teaching and spreading of the old way.
