Frerir Irongrinder was born in the lands of Anthos. He would be renowned for his service to many Grand Kings of Urguan as their King's Guard. One of the best horse-trainers, Frerir was the stable master of the Horde of Dunamis.

Biography

In his early years, following his father Zahrer, he fought in numerous battles and sieges (Athera). Frerir's first big battle was the invasion of Haelun'or into the Leyulin ruins(1494). Due to the loss the dwarven forces received, Frerir developed a hatred for wars but that hatred soon vanished. The Orenian forces deciding to continue the war against the elven allies, marched and besieged the dwarven fort of Hiebenhold. On that siege, Frerir met his mentor and good friend Jorik Grandaxe. When Balek Irongut was crowned Grand King of Urguan, Frerir was given the rank of King's Guard and served as Balek's personal guard until Balek resigned the crown(Vailor). Around late Athera, he joined a newly formed mercenary band, the Hordes of Dunamis. He stayed with the mercenaries and the Kingdom of Urguan until the lands of Vailor.

In early Vailor, Frerir quickly rose to the ranks of the Horde due to his stablemaster skills while also receiving the lands of Kal'Ordholm for gifting Grand King Skippy Irongut of Urguan some of his finest horses. He helped defend the Princedom of Fenn (1529) and in the siege of Rhewengrand (1537), Frerir got wounded and was barely rescued by some fellow Dunamites on their way out of the burning fort. During the siege of Khro'Nogaal(1538), Frerir remained on the walls of the fort, unable to do much due to his injuries. In the sieges of Avar, Frerir watched as Oren besieged and took his father's fort and then the Grandaxe Keep (1540–41).When the Orenian Empire marched on Kal'Ordholm(1542), Frerir fortified the Keep. After a bloody siege, the defenders managed to keep the endless Orenian forces out. He then served as Lord of Kal'Ordholm and as a member of Dunamis until the new lands of Axios.

In Axios, he joined the Kingdom of the Westerlands and served as the King's Guard for a century. The Grand King of Urguan at that time, Torvin Grandaxe summoned him home(1583) and granted him land. On the given land, he formed the town of Kal'Sitarae that stood until the end of the map. During the reign of Torvin Grandaxe, he served as the Grand Engineer and for a brief period of time, as the Grand Marshal. After Torvin was removed from power, he abandoned the Grand Kingdom and joined his father in the Citadel of Arcadia. There, he was taught the dwarven art of runesmithing. But as his bloodlust overcame him, he left the Citadel and rejoined the Horde of Dunamis once more. After the siege of the Krag by Bastion Ireheart(1611), he decided to exile himself to Kal'Sitarae. In a random turn of events, Frerir helped defend the besieged Mardon forces in the battle of the vineyard. The fighting was hard and while Frerir was leading a small unit of mounted archers, the Fort fell and the siege was over. On his way to Kal'Sitare however, Abdes de Savin of Santegia stopped him and hired him (1617) to lead his mounted units against Oren. In the skirmish that followed, the rebels won and then sieged the Capital of Haense. Frerir though returned to Kal'Sitarae after the siege, even though he was promised riches, ranks and titles in Santegia. When his father, Zahrer Irongrinder ascended to the throne, Frerir was once more summoned to serve as his Grand Marshal. As the relations between Kaz'Ulrah and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan deteriorated, he found himself fighting against a lot of his friends. A meeting occured after a few years of fighing and the Clan Lords decided to crown Frerir as the Grand King of Urguan. After a lot of reformations, the Grand Kingdom of Urguan managed to recover after a long time of decline. But by the combined forces of the enemy, the Kingdom fell and Frerir once more exiled himself into a long pilgrimage to the human lands. Surprisingly, during his travels, he met with the Grand son of the former King of the Westerland, Mauer. He was knighed and was granted the title "First Dwed of Marna".

On Atlas he joined the King of Marna. There, he started working on his runesmithing and rune-cannon making. After Marna’s death, Frerir reunited with his father and kin in the town of Az'ADar. After some time however Frerir found himself in a tough spot. On Kaz’Ulrah, the dwarves elected a new monarch, his thought-for-dead ex-wife Koralon Doomforged. While hearing this, Frerir decided to visit Ulrah in hopes of reuniting Az'adar and Ulrah. After some sort peace talks and what not, the two sides continued their hostilities so Frerir ,furious from the results, self-exiled himself all the way until Arcas.

On Arcas, Frerir appeared around 1764. He joined his kin in Varoth'Akvel where he was given Clan Father by Maefradon Ironrinder. A year later, he rejoined the Legion and received the rank of Longbeard for his previous contribution to the Kingdom.

Engineering and Runesmithing

Frerir was fascinated by the Steam Engines from an early age. He would spend most of his free time studying his father's blueprints and notes. After practicing it himself, he managed to become one of the best dwarven engineers that ever existed. During his reign as Grand Engineer under Torvin Grandaxe, he would work non-stop into making one of the most advanced fleets. In Arcadia, he would find himself experimenting a lot with steam power. As he was working on something new, he vanished for a couple of years to later reappear beneath Arcadia with a new vessel that could move underwater. While being in Arcadia, he was taught Runesmithing and his love for the art grew. He would spend countless hours practicing it, even during his reign as Grand King of Urguan. His passion though was cannon-making. With a lot of effort and time, he eventually managed to industrialise the cannon-making with an advanced furnace and with the usage of cranes.
