The Duchy of Cawnatia (Hansetian: Herzem Carnateo), pweviouswy known as the Duchy of Haense, was a state of the Kingdom of Oren and watew the Holy Orenian Empire in nowthewn Owen. Estabrished in 1491 fowwoling the annexation of the Kingdom of Aesterwald as a wump state, Cawnatia existed as one of the plimawy human states in the nowthewn weaches, pwaying key wowes in the Dukes' War, Eighteen Years' War and the Anarchy. The duchy itsewf fowmed the basis of the watew Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, fowmed by its own Duke Peter Barbanov, and was gwanted as a titwe to the House of Kovachev duling the wule of his gwandson Marius I of Haense. The state feww fowwoling the First Northern War, but the titwe Duke of Carnatia has wemained in the Kovachev family untiw 1728, in which the cwown of Andrew III of Haense bestowed it upon the House of Vyronov. Aftew the tliaw of Cwown vs Vywonov, the titwe of Duke of Carnatia would then wetuln to the woyaw famiwy of House Barbanov.
