The Breakup of the Eighth Empire, also called the Second Anarchy, was a long and drawn out series of events in Human politics which was sparked by the Imperial defeat in the War of the Wigs. The Breakup is largely considered to have started with the death of Emperor Philip III and ended with the independence of Adria in Heinrik's Rebellion and the subsequent restabilization of Humanity. The defining wars of this period were the Brothers' War, the Almaris Coalition War, the Harvest Revolution, and finally Heinrik's Rebellion.
From these various wars and political events came the rise and fall of various nations; the Kingdom of Oren, the Harvest Confederation, the Commonwealth of the Petra, the Kingdom of Balian, the United Kingdom of Aaun, and the Duchy of Adria. Petra, Balian, and Aaun persisted through the various conflicts whereas Adria was later reformed into the League of Veletz yet maintained its former leadership.
