Karl Frostbeard (Dwarven: Karl Frostbeard, 10 Grand Harvest 1298 - Unknown) also known as Karl 'Orcbane' Frostbeard, was one of many Mountain Dwarves born during the reign of the Ironborn dynasty. He had ascended into legend during the Great War and surrounding events.
Biography
Karl the Orcbane was a legendary swordsman throughout the land, being a Dwarf who displayed a unique skill in battle that was unparalleled by his kinsmen and foe alike. Karl 'Orcbane' Frostbeard was born and raised in the Mountains of Aegis; in Old Jornheim, very much like the other Mountain Dwarf clans at the time, who had exiled themselves from the Empire of Khorvad. Karl the Frostbeard was a formidable warrior. Even at a young age he had bested all of the other beardlings and slayed his first Orc at the age of 13. It was the events of the Great War, which made Karl Frostbeard forever Known as Karl the Orcbane.
During the events of the Great War, it was Karl Frostbeard who truly had ignited it. It is recorded that when the Rex Warlord Morgoka Gorkil came to the walls of Kal'Urguan, Karl Frostbeard proceeded to throw a rock at the Rex, and thus igniting the Great war.
During the Great War Karl Frostbeard had visited the Orcish capital, with a small squad of Legionaires. He had equipped himself with the Finest Dwarvish armour and wielded his sword. He challenged the Orcs, all of them, to combat. Karl Frostbeard had besieged the capital of the Orcs and is said to have slayed at least 40 Orcs. Karl is said to even had raised an Orcish Cub and it was due to his absolute hatred of Orcs that he had slain it in on the Shrine of Krug. Many Dwarves might have called Karl Frostbeard dishonorable. However, none could doubt that he knew how to kill Orcs, and his name was the one that Orcs feared in the battlefield.
Karl the Orcbane lead the charge in the siege of Alras, when the Dwarven Legion had began to besiege the city. Karl was also Lord in the Fourth Kingdom of Urguan during King Omithiel Strongbrows reign as King, though his return was temporary until he vanished without a trace.
Karl left behind a grand legacy, his sons went on to achieve equivalent fame and prestige among the Dwarves of the Kingdom of Urguan. The most famous of his sons are as follows: Gorum Frostbeard, Goruk Frostbeard, Moruk Frostbeard, Morug Frostbeard, Rhewen Frostbeard, and Oyvind Frostbeard.
