Pontian IV (Common: Pontian IV; Flexio: Pontianus IV; Illatian: Ponziano IV ) born as Adrian Helen Sarkozic, is the current High Pontiff, elected unanimously in 1886 and enthroned in the year 1887. Pontian is the fourth Sarkozic High Pontiff, the last being Bl. High Pontiff Clement II, a well-liked and diligent priest. The third youngest out of ten children born to Helena de Sarkozy and Demetriano d'Montelliano.

Born in Providence, the Holy Orenian Empire. The Sarkozic would have a normal youth, cut short by his inspiration to join the Canonist Church, becoming a ward of Fiodor of Freimark, later known as Tylos II. Ordained in 1861, Adrian would immediately set to work in repairing the Oren-Church relations, finding little success with the irreligious urban population. In 1863 Adrian joined the College of Cardinals as archbishop of Albarosa. Reinvigorated the new Cardinal would focus his efforts everywhere in Oren, but Providence. Three years later Adrian would join the Curia as Prelate of the Clergy, succeeding Father Philip de Rosius a close friend of Helena de Sarkozy. By all means, the noteworthy work began when Adrian became Prelate, in an attempt to gather new acolytes, Adrian would attempt to streamline the process from the joining to the ordination. In 1882, Adrian would be named Vice-Chancellor of the Church by decree of High Pontiff Tylos III, direct successor to Tylos II. A year later Tylos II would succumb to a coma, after a horse riding accident, allowing the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor to push forwards his own agenda, one of these being the complete removal of the thesis system of ordination, further streamlining the process of acceptance.

Tylos II would wake in 1885 and reassume his duties barely a week after. All seemed well, but abruptly while celebrating mass in Karosgrad the High Pontiff died, giving one last sermon. The Church of the Canon then entered the state of Sede Vacante, beginning the process of election and enthronement. Two months after the proclamation the Conclave would begin and in secret the Cardinals elected the successor, the results of the election only being made known on the day of enthronement, an event that usually occurred in private but for the first time in centuries would be public.
