Biography

Early Life

Gerald was born and raised in Reedsborough, where he worked as a humble farmer and leather tanner. He later moved to the new halfling village of Mellsburry within the Farthing of Haysend ran by Jack Bundle, a friend of his. Gerald was an early arrival in the village, being granted elder status there as few other halflings were around for the position. As an Elder of Mellsburry, Gerald took part in trade negotiations with Courland and the dwarves of Urguan, playing a minor role in the trade economy of Mellsburry as a result. After much time together in Mellsburry, Jack Bundle gave the title of Mayor temporarily to Gerald while he was off on an adventure, leaving Gerald to manage all of the village affairs.

Post-Elder Life

As Mayor, Gerald grew bored of the village. After having both hands chopped off by soldiers from the Kingdom of the Westerlands due to a theft accusation, Gerald could no longer farm like he used to. His best friend, Wichman Greenholm, agreed to run away from Mellsburry and head to a new village on the isle of Asul called Rivershire, ran by the Buckleberry family. The two of them stayed in Rivershire for some time. The village of Mellsburry faded into irrelevance after their exit with no leadership left to guide it; their trade negotiations dried up and their fields were left untended.

Pendlemere & Death

Halfling diaspora in human cities (Metz, in particular) would later band together to create a new village within the lands of the Kingdom of Lotharingia called Pendlemere. Gerald was one of these halflings, planting the first seeds in the village with what little farming abilities his hand-less body had left. Pendlemere was the final home of Gerald, and when orcish raiders came to the village, he was executed on the spot when their demands for tribute were not immediately met.

Notable Accomplishments

Gerald claimed the legendary Arcane Pumpkin, rumored by halflings to be the first ever pumpkin created by their god, Lord Knox. The Arcane Pumpkin was in his possession until his death, upon which it passed to the Applebrook family. The Applebrooks lost the Arcane Pumpkin to an unknown thief who took it away from Pendlemere. To this day, the Arcane Pumpkin remains a lost artifact.

Appearance

Gerald was light in skin color with brown hair and blue eyes. He typically wore a green cotton shirt and a pair of grey cotton trousers.
