Fort Linnord is a former Imperial and current Royalist post in Upper Petra, Almaris, that was established in the winter of 1817 by the Azor Administration. It was originally designed as an elevated fortification to protect the Upper Petra region from an invasion. However, during its first half-century of life, the battlements never saw any large-scale assaults and thus it was turned into a weapons factory that supplied the majority of the Orenian heartlands with Model-3 Canons and early Petrine Era Trebuchets.

History

The Tenth Nordling War

Fort Linnord's initial design was drawn up in 1816 by the famed Imperial Engineer, Heath Linnord, as a result of the approaching Nordling Invasion. Many Imperial Tacticians anticipated the Nordling to attack from the Orenian Northern border via Haeseni trading routes and thus the construction of a fortress was ordered. Its designer, Heath Linnord was tasked with overseeing the fort's construction alongside the at the time, Archchancellor, Ledicort d'Azor. Under the supervision of the duo, the exterior walls were completed in only two saints' days, with its interior walls being raised on the following saints' day. The Imperial State Army's fifth brigade, known for its research and development was then assigned to the Fort's Garrison.

In 1818, the Nordling Hosts launched their invasion into Orenia however, Fort Linnord deterred them away from an assault on Upper Petra and instead the Nordling Rally focused their attention on Arentania only to have been defeated three years later.
