Fort Linnord otherwise referred to as Fort T.O.S or Fort Imperium is a former Imperial and Royalist post in Upper Petra, Almaris, (1818-1876) that was established in the winter of 1817 by the Azor Administration. It was originally designed as an elevated fortification to protect the Upper Petra region from an invasion. However, during its first half-century of life, the battlements never saw any large-scale assaults. Thus it was turned into a weapons factory that supplied the majority of the Orenian heartlands with Model-3 Canons and early Petrine Era Trebuchets. In 1876, Fort Linnord was dismantled to make way for the Baronetcy of Rochefort. With the destruction of the fort, the majority of Orenian weapon manufacturing came from vassal production.

History

The Tenth Nordling War

Fort Linnord's initial design was drawn up in 1816 by the famed Imperial Engineer, Heath Linnord, due to the approaching Nordling Invasion. Many Imperial Tacticians anticipated the Nordling to attack from the Orenian Northern border via Haeseni trading routes and thus the construction of a fortress was ordered. Its designer, Heath Linnord was tasked with overseeing the fort's construction alongside the at the time, Archchancellor, Ledicort d'Azor. Under the supervision of the duo, the exterior walls were completed in only two saints' days, with its interior walls being raised on the following saints' day. The Imperial State Army's fifth brigade, known for its research and development was then assigned to the Fort's Garrison.

In 1818, the Nordling Hosts launched their invasion into Orenia however, Fort Linnord deterred them away from an assault on Upper Petra and instead the Nordling Rally focused their attention on Arentania only to have been defeated three years later.

The Brothers' War

In Malin's Welcome of 1868, the third-in-line to the Imperial Throne, Frederick Charles launched an attack on the Imperial Capital of Providence and quickly claimed the city for himself in an attempt to claim the Orenian Throne. His hold over the city became solidified in the following days as the Imperialist faction led by Frederick's older brother, Peter Augustus made no attempt to recapture the city for themselves but instead, retreated to Fort Linnord which soon became their capital seat of power. Throughout the civil war, dubbed the Brothers' War, the Imperialist faction primarily operated out of Fort Linnord. This eventually led to a Royalist assault of the surrounding area of the Fort in hopes of capturing stray Imperial supporters.

Following the Battle of Reutov and the subsequent capture of Peter Augustus, Fort Linnord was used as a rallying point by the Viscount of Vuillermoz prior to the Battle for New Providence. After the Imperialist defeat at New Providence, the Fort Linnord garrison dwindled in numbers and was quickly overwhelmed by Royalist infantry from the Viscounty of Rivia who exploited a gap in the walls to sneak inside and slaughter the garrison commander.
