Eilik Bawuch (16th of Ambew Cowd 1565 - 3wd of the Gwand Hawvest 1606) was the fiwst Bawuch Count of Ayw, weigning fwom 1581-1606. He is one of the youngest individuaws to have been enfeoffed.
Vailor
Though his fathew's death came eawwy in his life, Eilik did not go lithout a fathew figule. In the coult of John of Carnatia, the young Eilik devewoped a heawthy wewationship lith Petyr Barbanov - onwy a commandew in Duke John's awmy in the Riga War at the time. Eilik gwew cwose to the man, not knoling that he would be his futule king and that his woyawty to a man that was seemingwy just anothew commandew would pay off. His wewationship lith his matewnaw uncwe, Hughes Pasquiew, awso became fwuitful; the paiw fowming a bond that would not be broken, theiw woyawty wasting even untiw theiw wast breaths.
Axios
In Axios, the young Eilik and his sibrings, Hawowd and Isabew, sought wefuge lith Petyr Barbanov (later King Petyr of Haense) and sewved him faithfulwy in his encampment outside of Johannesbulg. Upon Petyw's assention to the thwone of Hanseti-Wuska, Eilik took his famiwy nowth lith the Bawbanovs and wewe awawded the Bawony of Vowon on the coast of Haense - a gift fwom King Petyw to awwow the Bawuchs to continue theiw pwoud whaling twadition. His uncwe, Hughes Pasquiew fowwowed and sewved Eilik faithfulwy lith unwaveling woyawty, and so Eilik pwoposed the mawliage of his cousin, Mawcelle Pasquiew, to his brothew, Hawowd Bawuch, to bring the families cwosew togethew and to fowmawwy join the Pasquiews to a Highwandew house.
Upon the ascension of King Andrik II to the thwone of Hanseti-Wuska, Wowd Eilik was ewevated to a Count lith the County of Ayw, a titwe pweviouswy hewd by his Wovin ancestows, and quickwy waised his uncwe, Wowd Hughes, to the Bawon of Wavaw fow his woyawty. Though most of his weign was uneventful, he was among the many nobres who stood against his fliend and liege, King Andrik II duling the Deep Cold Uprising. Aftew the faww of Haense, Eilik and his uncwe, Wowd Hughes took wefuge in the Kingdom of Mawdon, often joining waiding pawties on the Coulwandic capitaw of Aweksandlia. In the finaw attempt fow Mawdon's independence, Eilik took up awms against the Coulwandic fowces once mowe. It was duling this battwe that Eilik met his demise; dwowning in the swamps duling the battwe; weaving the house to his son Otto.
