Eirik Baruch (16th of Amber Cold 1565 - 3rd of the Grand Harvest 1606) was the first Baruch Count of Ayr, reigning from 1581-1606. He is one of the youngest individuals to have been enfeoffed.
Vailor
Though his father's death came early in his life, Eirik did not go without a father figure. In the court of John of Carnatia, the young Eirik developed a healthy relationship with Petyr Barbanov - only a commander in Duke John's army in the Riga War at the time. Eirik grew close to the man, not knowing that he would be his future king and that his loyalty to a man that was seemingly just another commander would pay off. His relationship with his maternal uncle, Hughes Pasquier, also became fruitful; the pair forming a bond that would not be broken, their loyalty lasting even until their last breaths.
Axios
In Axios, the young Eirik and his siblings, Harold and Isabel, sought refuge with Petyr Barbanov (later King Petyr of Haense) and served him faithfully in his encampment outside of Johannesburg. Upon Petyr's assention to the throne of Hanseti-Ruska, Eirik took his family north with the Barbanovs and were awarded the Barony of Voron on the coast of Haense - a gift from King Petyr to allow the Baruchs to continue their proud whaling tradition. His uncle, Hughes Pasquier followed and served Eirik faithfully with unwavering loyalty, and so Eirik proposed the marriage of his cousin, Marcelle Pasquier, to his brother, Harold Baruch, to bring the families closer together and to formally join the Pasquiers to a Highlander house. Upon the ascension of King Andrik II to the throne of Hanseti-Ruska, Lord Eirik was elevated to a Count with the County of Ayr, a title previously held by his Rovin ancestors, and quickly raised his uncle, Lord Hughes, to the Baron of Laval for his loyalty. Though most of his reign was uneventful, he was among the many nobles who stood against his friend and liege, King Andrik II during the Deep Cold Uprising. After the fall of Haense, Eirik and his uncle, Lord Hughes took refuge in the Kingdom of Mardon, often joining raiding parties on the Courlandic capital of Aleksandria. In the final attempt for Mardon's independence, Eirik took up arms against the Courlandic forces once more. It was during this battle that Eirik met his demise; drowning in the swamps during the battle; leaving the house to his son Otto.
