Under his leadership, the Mardonic League, Grand Kingdom of Urguan, Orcish Hordes and the Kingdom of Aesterwald were decisively defeated in the Schism War, and the Reformed Kingdom of Oren was founded in 1491. Vydra carried on minor skirmishes against the Grand Kingdom of Urguan until his death, with a state of war between the two kingdoms sporadically starting and stopping.

Andrik was eventually killed during a diplomatic mission to the city of Haelun'or in the year 1498. Lured into the courtyard of the city, he was assassinated by an acidic trap set by the Sohaer. Ironically, the Sohaer sought to prevent an Orenian-domination of the Silver City, unaware that this was contrary to Andrik's intended plan of action. Vydra's death set into motion the brief sacking of Haelun'or, and the eventual Vassalization of the Mali by the Reformed Kingdom of Oren.
