Britannus Vanir (Common: Britannus Vanir, High Imperial: Britannus Basileii, Raevir: Brytanov Vanir) (13th of Malin's Welcome, 1502 – 15th of the Deep Cold, 1572) was the Baron of Kraken's Watch from 1564 until his death in 1572. Britannus, alongside his family and other Adrians, was one of Emperor John I's staunchest supporters. Britannus was remembered for reviving his own House of Vanir following its destruction at the end of the Dukes' War. He is commonly known as the Conciliator for his peaceful nature and his skill at diplomacy.
Britannus is most notable for his role in the Riga War and the events prior. He successful negotiated with Duke Alexander Staunton and ensured peaceful transition of Kraken's Watch to the House of Vanir. The Storming of Kraken's Watch, which brought an period of peaceful coexistence to an end, caused Britannus to pursue the formation of a Carnatian League, with the sole purpose of retaking his home. The league was successful, and Britannus retook Kraken's Watch with the assistance of many prominent northern nobles, including the future King Peter of Haense and Hetman Sveneld of Krajia.
