On the 18th of Sun's Smile, 23 S.A., a drafted letter by the Ferrymen was sent to Captain Erik var Ruthern, detailing that an Imperial citizen, a Lady of d'Arkent, was caught and kidnapped on the road and that she would die if the Imperial force did not save her. Within the day, a large platoon of Imperial soldiers, alongside the Metinan Company, ventured towards the mountains near Southbridge where they met the Ferrymen bandits and Norlandic soldiers. Prior to the skirmish ensuing, the Lady d'Arkent was cut free by the Ferrymen and told to run back to Providence. Afterward, the reported two-day-long battle ensued, with the Imperials eventually coming out victorious after killing the majority of the Ferrymen force and routing the rest back towards the North.
