Within Hyspian society, despite the having of nobility, status isn't differentiated much. Inter-status marriages are commonplace, and you are just as likely to find a noble in the tavern, as you would a commoner. Despite this, they can lead vividly different lives, from how they work and to how they dress. There are a few coming-of-age traditions within the Sovereign State of Hyspia, traditionally held upon the age of fifteen. One such tradition is known as the Quinceañera or more uncommonly the Quinceañero. When Hyspias generation of children all begin to come of age, these celebrations are had, with pinatas and bullfighting taking the spotlight. Alongside this is Hyspias social season, known as El Puente, hosted to celebrate the coming-of-age of Hyspias next generation. Later in life, should a Hyspian wish for courtship - they would present the individual with a pearl. Acceptance of the pearl, and of the significant others family would allow for a traditional Hyspian courtship until time came for an engagement and wedding. Unlike other cultures, the Hyspian wedding outfit isn't kept to white, but instead allows for a range of colors - from blues to oranges.

 +
In the event of children, they are baptized in the canonist faith and named according to status. It is common place to see commoners with two middle names, nobles with two to three and royals with four to five. The names are often lengthy, though no matter the status, they primarily use their first middle name - unless in the case of a birth, wedding or death announcement.

'''== The Hyspian Social Classes =='''
 +

 +
There are a total of five classes within Hyspias society, two of which are known commonly to be a grey area.
 +

 +
'''Royalty''', the Sovereign House of de Pelear is the royal family of Hyspia. They are the Protector of the Farfolks and the Hyspians, overseeing their peoples livelihood. They are commonly known as the ''Sovereign, Sovereign-Consort, Princes and Princesses.''
 +

 +
'''Lesser Royalty''', they are still part of the Sovereign House of de Pelear but are known to have been born to the second-in-line to the throne. They are styled as ''Infantes and Infantas'', children of a the secondborn Prince or Princess of Hyspia. They have less perks then their cousins, and exist within a grey area, between royalty and nobility alike. This is further explained in a missive, named, [https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/237237-what-is-an-infanta/ What is an Infanta?]
 +

 +
'''Nobility''', these are the landed houses within the Sovereign State of Hyspia. Our Dukes and our Barons. They work within the government, oversee the parties and celebrations and serve and protect their home with fervor.
 +

 +
'''Honorary Nobility''', these are those that have been granted a title, but one that is to go back to the Sovereign Crown upon death. They exist within a grey area of Hyspia, between the roles of nobility and commoner alike. These titles are often granted to someone who has made great contribution but lacks a family to pass any titles onto.
 +

 +
'''Commoners''' make up the majority of the Hyspian people. They are the lifeblood of the Sovereign State, assuring the day-to-day goes smoothly. Our soldiers, our farmers and our teachers. Without them, much like any place, all would be lost.

The Sovereign State of Hyspias government is based around Ministries, known more formally as ''the Sovereign Council''.
 +
Council members are styled with ''His/Her Excellency'' unless a higher title supersedes this, such as ''His/Her Highness''.
 +
There are four council positions, ''the Ministro del Pais, Colonel del Regimiento, Ministro de Interior and the Gran Chamberlan''.
 +
Outside of these council positions, advisors are taken on at the discretion of the Sovereign and Sovereign-Consort.
 +

 +
'''The Ministro del Pais''' deals in diplomatic affairs, acting as Hyspias envoy and negotiating pacts and treaties alike.
 +

 +
'''The Colonel del Regimiento''' oversees the Orden de Francisco, Hyspias military, and the safety of the Sovereign State.
 +

 +
'''The Ministro de Interiors''' office oversees the taxing of property within Hyspia, alongside the aiding of new citizens and tracking of the populace via the census.

'''== Peerage =='''
 +

 +

 +
Within the Sovereign State of Hyspia, there are four title rankings that can be earned: ''Barony, Viscounty, County and Duchy''.
 +

 +
The ''earning'' of a peerage, i.e. nobility within Hyspia is done through a system in which an active presence and reputation with the Sovereign State needs to be maintained. This is achieved through large families, governmental, court and military work - alongside the hosting of events within the city. It is the Sovereigns prerogative and theirs alone to grant a peerage to a family they find deserving.
 +

 +
There are currently four titled peerages, beginning first with the highest ranked and eldest family and moving to the newest:
 +

 +
'''The Denodado Household''', a Viscounty within Hyspia and known as the ''Viscounty of Banderas''. They were initially known as the ''Novikovs'', having lived in ''the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska'' and become close with the de Pelear household during the Haense-Hyspia vassalship. Later when Hyspia left their vassalship and become a protectorate instead, the Denodados would join them in leaving and aid in the forming of the Protectorate of Hyspia. Their familial culture came to be known as ''Hanso-Hyspian''. Granted peerage under Viceroy Cesar II reign.
 +

 +
'''The Halcourt Household''', a Barony within Hyspia and known as the ''Barony of Campagnon''. The family came originally from ''the Commonwealth of Petra'', having left due to disagreements of unknown reasons. They would move to Hyspia, initially of an ''Auvergnian'' familial culture, adapting overtime to Hyspias ways. Granted peerage under Viceroy Cesar II reign.
 +

 +
'''The Salazar Household''', a Barony within Hyspia and known as the ''Barony of Campos Salvajes''. The family had been based in Hyspia from the start, though making their debut in Hyspias very first ''El Puente'', i.e. social season. They filled the ranks of the military, providing themselves in defending against a darkspawn raid known as ''the Clash of Sands''. Alongside this, they came to be known for their ranching and rodeos, wasting no time in ascending to nobility. Granted peerage under Sovereign Ramona I reign.
 +

 +
'''The del Maravilla Household''', a Dual Barony within Hyspia, known as ''the Dual Barony of Soles Gemelos''. Founded by the twin royals, ''Princess-Royal Renata Alba'' and ''Infante Rafael Arsenico'', the twins were rewarded for their endless work within Hyspia. From diplomacy to culture, they worked on it all - and their titular titles given due to their royal birth were made to be inheritable, naming them as the ''Baron of Evaristus'' and the ''Baroness of Clemente''. Granted peerage under Sovereign Ramona I reign.

Savoyardic Collapse

The Sovereign State of Hyspia, also called Hyspia or sometimes New Hyspia, is a a Farfolk nation which follows an absolute hereditary monarchy style of government. Hyspia is inhabited by Hyspians and other Farfolk cultures. Unlike a handful of its neighbors, Hyspia remains faithful to the Church of the Canon as its official religion. The Viceroyalty was founded by Cesar I, Viceroy of Hyspia in the year 78 S.A. on the continent of Almaris. With the permission of High Pontiff Tylos II, the Hyspians settled the city of Niseep, which was a former Savoyard city left to the Church after the death of its former Count. The High Pontiff granted the Hyspians the city, and the settlers chose to keep the name of the city to honor the former Savoyard inhabitants. After a drought forced the Hyspians from Niseep, Viceroy Cesar I bent the knee to Karl III of Haense and was allowed to settle the Ciudad de Plata on the old Haelun'orian Island. However, on the year 152 of the second age the grandson of Cesar I, Cesar II, Viceroy of Hyspia, would lead the Hyspian people and the new Farfolk citizens of Hyspia to a new age of Hyspian independence in Aevos. The now independent Hyspia provides a home for its people in the capital city of La Dorada.

Settlement in Haense

The Hyspian people had moved to the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, taking time to get acclimated to the chill and snow of the nation. Initially having gotten homes within the capital city, they stayed there until construction was had of what was once Haelun'ors island. The land was received during a previous war, the climate a fitting one for the Hyspian people as it held the warmth and sand they so dearly missed. Reportedly, Francisco I, Viceroy of Hyspia, the now Viceroy of Hyspia requested a dowry of seventy-two camels and an heirloom for his sisters hand in marriage.

Some years later, Francisco I, Viceroy of Hyspia passed on and his secondborn turned heir, Cesar II, Viceroy of Hyspia took over the Viceroyal throne. Independence from Haense

The once Protectorate of Hyspia ascended to the Sovereign State of Hyspia upon their gained independence from Haense. Ruled over by Ramona I, Princess of Hyspia, a new era began for the Hyspians as they had true independence for the first time in four generations. Culture & Society

The Hyspian culture is known to be a colorful one, filled with vibrant fabrics, music and good food. Those of the Hyspian variety are commonly known as farfolks, with darker toned skin and darker hair. Their clothing, something detailed in a missive An In-depth look into Hyspian Fashion, consists of loose and colorful fabrics that allow for free movement and won't be too warm in the desert sands. Appearances are further looked into via a missive which details how to care for their skin and hair, an important aspect to the Hyspians everyday life: Cosmetics of Hyspia.

Within Hyspian society, despite the having of nobility, status isn't differentiated much. Inter-status marriages are commonplace, and you are just as likely to find a noble in the tavern, as you would a commoner. Despite this, they can lead vividly different lives, from how they work and to how they dress. This is detailed further in a missive, named the Common People of Hyspia.

More on coming-of-age traditions can be found in this missive: Hyspia Coming-of-Age Traditions.

== The Hyspian Social Classes ==

There are a total of five classes within Hyspias society, two of which are known commonly to be a grey area.

Royalty, the Sovereign House of de Pelear is the royal family of Hyspia. They are the Protector of the Farfolks and the Hyspians, overseeing their peoples livelihood. They are commonly known as the Sovereign, Sovereign-Consort, Princes and Princesses.

Lesser Royalty, they are still part of the Sovereign House of de Pelear but are known to have been born to the second-in-line to the throne. They are styled as Infantes and Infantas, children of a the secondborn Prince or Princess of Hyspia. They have less perks then their cousins, and exist within a grey area, between royalty and nobility alike. This is further explained in a missive, named, What is an Infanta?

Nobility, these are the landed houses within the Sovereign State of Hyspia. Our Dukes and our Barons. They work within the government, oversee the parties and celebrations and serve and protect their home with fervor.

Honorary Nobility, these are those that have been granted a title, but one that is to go back to the Sovereign Crown upon death. They exist within a grey area of Hyspia, between the roles of nobility and commoner alike. These titles are often granted to someone who has made great contribution but lacks a family to pass any titles onto.

Commoners make up the majority of the Hyspian people. They are the lifeblood of the Sovereign State, assuring the day-to-day goes smoothly. Our soldiers, our farmers and our teachers. Without them, much like any place, all would be lost.

Government & Peerage

== Government ==

The Sovereign State of Hyspias government is based around Ministries, known more formally as the Sovereign Council. Council members are styled with His/Her Excellency unless a higher title supersedes this, such as His/Her Highness. There are four council positions, the Ministro del Pais, Colonel del Regimiento, Ministro de Interior and the Gran Chamberlan. Outside of these council positions, advisors are taken on at the discretion of the Sovereign and Sovereign-Consort.

The Ministro del Pais deals in diplomatic affairs, acting as Hyspias envoy and negotiating pacts and treaties alike.

The Colonel del Regimiento oversees the Orden de Francisco, Hyspias military, and the safety of the Sovereign State.

The Ministro de Interiors office oversees the taxing of property within Hyspia, alongside the aiding of new citizens and tracking of the populace via the census.

The Gran Chamberlan oversees the courts of Hyspia, expanding on the culture and setting the expectations of the Hyspian people alongside the Sovereign-Consort.

== Peerage ==

Within the Sovereign State of Hyspia, there are four title rankings that can be earned: Barony, Viscounty, County and Duchy.

The earning of a peerage, i.e. nobility within Hyspia is done through a system in which an active presence and reputation with the Sovereign State needs to be maintained. This is achieved through large families, governmental, court and military work - alongside the hosting of events within the city. It is the Sovereigns prerogative and theirs alone to grant a peerage to a family they find deserving.

There are currently four titled peerages, beginning first with the highest ranked and eldest family and moving to the newest:

The Denodado Household, a Viscounty within Hyspia and known as the Viscounty of Banderas. They were initially known as the Novikovs, having lived in the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and become close with the de Pelear household during the Haense-Hyspia vassalship. Later when Hyspia left their vassalship and become a protectorate instead, the Denodados would join them in leaving and aid in the forming of the Protectorate of Hyspia. Their familial culture came to be known as Hanso-Hyspian. Granted peerage under Viceroy Cesar II reign.

The Halcourt Household, a Barony within Hyspia and known as the Barony of Campagnon. The family came originally from the Commonwealth of Petra, having left due to disagreements of unknown reasons. They would move to Hyspia, initially of an Auvergnian familial culture, adapting overtime to Hyspias ways. Granted peerage under Viceroy Cesar II reign.

The Salazar Household, a Barony within Hyspia and known as the Barony of Campos Salvajes. The family had been based in Hyspia from the start, though making their debut in Hyspias very first El Puente, i.e. social season. They filled the ranks of the military, providing themselves in defending against a darkspawn raid known as the Clash of Sands. Alongside this, they came to be known for their ranching and rodeos, wasting no time in ascending to nobility. Granted peerage under Sovereign Ramona I reign.

The del Maravilla Household, a Dual Barony within Hyspia, known as the Dual Barony of Soles Gemelos. Founded by the twin royals, Princess-Royal Renata Alba and Infante Rafael Arsenico, the twins were rewarded for their endless work within Hyspia. From diplomacy to culture, they worked on it all - and their titular titles given due to their royal birth were made to be inheritable, naming them as the Baron of Evaristus and the Baroness of Clemente. Granted peerage under Sovereign Ramona I reign.

== Defunct Peerages ==

The Maor Household, once a noble household, known as the Barony of Montenno. Stripped of peerage under Viceroy Cesar II reign.
