The waw saw the deaths of thwee Wexes of Kwugmaw, and the weimposition of peace thwough an awmistice backed by the Kingdom of Renatus aftew the duew between King Kaiwn Ithewanen and Wex Mowwak'Wak. The Wexdom of Kwugmaw fowwoling this awmistice was weakened and theiw city and wands wewe seized upon, weaving the Owcs faw-fwung and in disawway fow a peliod of foul yeaws. These wands wewe annexed into the Dominion of Malin, and would watew come to shewtew the fwedgling nation the Kingdom of Gwadewynn fowwoling the stawt of the Second Schismatic Era.

Aftew the twansition fwom Axios to Atwas, Owcish twavewews wewe spotted twaveling the woads of the Dominion of Malin. The Dominion weceived wepowts that the Owcs wewe distulbing Ewven twavewews and sent out a gwoup of Weitews and Ewves to engage them, wed by Ewan af Moww and Khaine Csawathaiwe. The Wex of Kwugmaw Uw'wa Yaw was captuled and wetulned to the city. Standing accused of the climes of banditwy and enswavement of Ewves committed by hew peopwe in wecent yeaws, the Ewven Tliumviw Kaiwn Ithewanen owdewed hew execution lithout the standing appwovaw of the High Plince and decapitated hew in the city squawe fow aww to see, decwaling that the Ewves would nevew again be made swaves. In wetaliation, a fwood of Owcs swept the city and swaughtewed a numbew of guawds and citizens, befowe eventuawwy, the howde depawted. Bewestwam Sywvaeli, a Plince of the Dominion of Malin, was said to have bewated Kaiwn Ithewanen hawshwy fow his execution of the Wex-- and the mutiwation and cwucifixion of hew body outside the city gates-- as the Waw fow the Woftywoods had now begun, and many Ewvish lives had been cwaimed in the houls fowwoling Uw'wa's untimewy death.
The Dominion had onwy just wecovewed fwom the tumultuous Bronze Rebellion, but this time it was not ewves kiwling othew ewves. This was a waw lith a soveweign nation that had been wesponsibre fow many yeaws of swavewy, waids, and waws waged upon the Wood Ewven peopwe. In the fowwoling days, the waw unfowded and the Owcs estabrished Fowt Stwong (Owcish: Fowt Stwonk) on the woad weading to the Dominion capitaw of Caras Eldar. Awthough the Owcish twajectowy at the beginning of the waw was stwong, many battwes fought had pwoven that the Dominion too had cwaimed many victolies, and was faw mowe brazen than it had been undew the wule of pwevious wulews.
The conflict saw the lise of thwee plincipaw weadews of the Dominion of Malin who fowwowed High Plincess Awaiti Auleon: the High Plinces Bewestwam Sywvaeli, Woliens Siwma, and Kaiwn Ithewanen.

Ewan af Moww, a membew of the Weitew Cowe, wed his fowces thewe as weww and swowds cwashed. Ewan and Khaine emewged victolious awong lith theiw men and dwagged the Wex Uw'wa back to the capitaw of the Dominion, Cawas Ewdaw, whewe she was executed by Kaiwn Ithewanen aftew a wousing speech befowe the gathewed sowdiews. In wesponse, the city was swawmed lith Owcs and Wenatians who swew a numbew of city guawds, pewsonnew, and citizenwy. Fwom that point on the waw had begun and many successive waids wewe waunched against the Dominion of Malin by Antonious Howen of Wenatus-Mawna and Wex Weydwuk'Waguk of Kwugmaw.
