Describe the war briefly.

History

After the transition from Axios to Atlas, Orcish travelers were spotted traveling the roads of the Dominion of Malin. The Dominion received reports that the Orcs were disturbing Elven travelers and sent out a group of Reiters and Elves to engage them, led by Ewan af Morr and Khaine Csarathaire. The Rex of Krugmar Ul'ra Yar was captured and returned to the city. Standing accused of the crimes of banditry and enslavement of Elves committed by her people in recent years, the Elven Triumvir Kairn Ithelanen ordered her execution without the standing approval of the High Prince and decapitated her in the city square for all to see, declaring that the Elves would never again be made slaves. In retaliation, a flood of Orcs swept the city and slaughtered a number of guards and citizens, before eventually, the horde departed. Belestram Sylvaeri, a Prince of the Dominion of Malin, was said to have berated Kairn Ithelanen harshly for his execution of the Rex-- and the mutilation and crucifixion of her body outside the city gates-- as the War for the Loftywoods had now begun, and many Elvish lives had been claimed in the hours following Ul'ra's untimely death.

The Dominion had only just recovered from the tumultuous Bronze Rebellion, but this time it was not elves killing other elves. This was a war with a sovereign nation that had been responsible for many years of slavery, raids, and wars waged upon the Wood Elven people. In the following days, the war unfolded and the Orcs established Fort Strong (Orcish: Fort Stronk) on the road leading to the Dominion capital of Caras Eldar. Although the Orcish trajectory at the beginning of the war was strong, many battles fought had proven that the Dominion too had claimed many victories, and was far more brazen than it had been under the rule of previous rulers.

The conflict saw the rise of three principal leaders of the Dominion of Malin who followed High Princess Awaiti Aureon: the High Princes Belestram Sylvaeri, Loriens Silma, and Kairn Ithelanen.

War Parties

With the onset of the war, battle lines were drawn between the Dominion of Malin and the Rexdom of Krugmar. The Dominion had its mercenaries the Black Reiter Company in reserve still since their use by Kairn Ithelanen and his contemporaries in the Bronze Rebellion. Krugmar made use of its Reiver and Ghanyan allies throughout the war as well.
