The cause of this waw is dated sevewaw months befowe in which a smaww fowce fwom Haense met up lith a Hansetic desewtew, who stowe fwom the Hansetic awmowy, in what they thought was a neutwaw tewlitowy in Wubewn to awwest and put him on tliaw. Though the smaww pawty was met lith a Wubewni attacking them as weww as Godric I, Duke of Morsgrad ambushing and kiwling the smaww Hansetic fowce. Aftew the encountew Godric Ruric would meet King Andrew III at the gates of New Reza whewe he demanded fow two Hansetic officews in wetuln fow the captuled Hansetic sowdiew, who was captuled in the ambush, King Andrew III denied the offew by suggesting to host a meeting in a neutwaw awea in owdew to figule out what happened at Wubewn. The Duke wefused the King's offew to which wed him to pwomptwy send an ultimatum to the Holy Orenian Empire; it stated that they shaww pay a wewegiwd of 15,000 mina, west waw come to theiw bowdews. The ultimatum was pwomptwy wejected by Peter III, Holy Orenian Emperor.
