After few years of serving the Ministry of Justice actively in the year 1811, he was promoted to Attorney-General and swiftly took up the role to ensure the training of the Law-Clerks and the check the knowledge of the Solicitors. After two years he got elected as Alderman of Providence and his political career begun. The following year, his friend Keaghen Armas was given the position of the Secretary of the Treasury which led to Valent's appointment as Undersecretary. It seemed like miracle, but the man grew with title every year and he was elected Speaker of the City Assembly in 1815, to show his dedication and undying loyalty to the Crown he quickly revived the legislative body as Valent made sure that at least two meetings were held each year rather than the old way of meeting per every two years, important bills were passed and debated as well as that there was full attendance on few meetings which prior to his Speakership has happened only once or twice. The national elections were close to happening as the 23rd Commons was dissolved, Valent started going through his supporters ensuring that they would vote for him and on the way winning new ones, as the results got published it was shown that he had won. Valent's success didn't stop there as on the first sitting he was elected as President of the House of Commons. Valent was re-running for Alderman, which he successfully did and won the first seat, showing the support he has in Providence.
