The Blackreach Uprising (Dwarven: Kazak Kantwel Thrummare) is a small-scale rebellion by the County of Blackreach against the Duchy of Riviä.

Prelude

The Barony of Blackreach was handed to Sarah Thomson after the disappearance, and possible execution, of Brandon McCarthy, the previous Baron of Blackreach. Once in power, Sarah Thomson created the Order of Nightfall, which was the Barony’s guard force, soon after its creation some of the soldiers were taken captive by Ser Jacob Bolivar and Prince Demetrio of Santegia. Sarah and her second in command, William Jameson, went to the place where her soldiers were held and asked peacefully for them to be returned safely to her, Jacob Bolivar and the prince denied this offer and attacked Sarah and William, tied them up and took their belongings. It was this, and other accounts of mistreatment from the Kingdom of Santegia and the mass executions of the Cantwells by Renatus which lead Sarah Thomson to declare independence from the Duchy of Riviä.

Timeline

• 1670
  • The House of Cantwell declare themselves independent from the Duchy of Riviä and its leader Duke Thomas I of Riviä because of the mistreatment from their allies of the Crown of Renatus-Marna and the unofficial alliance with the Kingdom of Santegia.
  • After the declaration of independence by the matriarch of the House of Cantwell, Sarah Thomson, the Duchy of Riviä declares war on Blackreach on behalf of the Grand Marshal, Theresa de Hartcold, officially starting the Cantwell Uprising.
• 1672
  • The Barony of Centinela, under Ser Jacob Bolivar, ally themselves with the Duchy of Riviä to help put down the troublesome Cantwell's, especially after they kidnapped his own daughter.
  • The Duchy of Riviä form an alliance with the Kingdom of Haense, under Sigmar I, adding another belligerent to the war.
• 1673
  • The Barony of Blackreach forms an alliance with the Barony of Vasile to assist them in time of war.
  • The Barony of Centinela pulls out of the war by command of there liege, and the death of there baron, Jacob Bolivar.
• 1675
  • A lone Blackreach soldier would sneak inside the Duchy of Riviä killing a few guards before kidnapping the Duke of Riviä's daughter and hold her hostage, causing an uproar in the Duchy of Riviä for revenge against the Barony of Blackreach.
  • The Duchy of Riviä and their allies rally their forces in Haense, marching their way to the Barony of Vasile where they thought was where the Duke's daughter was located slaughtering most of the guards there only to find an empty cell.
  • Thomas de Hartcold would begin to march on the fort of Blackreach soon falling to their forces. This event would be known as the Siege of Blackreach which resulted in a Blackreach victory.
  • The war enters a stalemate.
  • The Duchy of Riviä allies itself with Kal'Arab upon the stalemate between the two waring factions.
• 1679
  • Blackreach absorbs the small town of Barmount, forming itself as a county.
  • Barmount is granted baron and prepares for the fight alongside their lord and lady.
  • Clan Skarpefanger and Faroe forms an alliance with the newly found County of Blackreach
  • The Camel Bandits form an alliance with the newly found County of Blackreach
  • The Devereux Family and allies form an alliance with The County of Blackreach.
  • The war leaves the stalemate and rages on.
• 1681
  • Blackreach pushes the Rivian forces back, after a victory at the Riviän Plains.
  • Blackreach and its allies would then begin its march towards the Riviän capital.
• 1682
  • The Duchy of Riviä surrenders and evacuates the city of Gävoles thus ending the war. this act would lead into suspicion on where Thomas de Hartcold went...
