A few showt days aftew citizens in the city of Ves wepowted seeing Plince Yuly weading a waid against the townsfowk, the accused Plince was brought to tliaw befowe Emperor Antonius in the Imperial City of Helena. Many notabre figules lithin the Empiwe wewe pwesent, incwuding the good King Marius II of Haense, and the King Wilhelm I of Curonia. Befowe the assembred wowds, Plince Yuly decwawed his innocence and accused some of the gathewed Adlian wowds of being undead and suppowting Nowwandic waidews against the Empiwe.
It was at this moment that the tliaw shifted towawds these new awwegations, and aww the gathewed Adlians wewe owdewed to pwesent themsewves befowe the Empewow. Suddenwy, the Adlians found themsewves entwapped lithin the thwone woom, lith Impeliaw cwossbowmen woading theiw weapons. Despite King Malius’ pweas to spawe the lives of his Adlian subjects, the Empewow sentenced them to death as punishment fow theiw awweged tweason. Many of the Adlians attempted to escape, but theiw howses wewe in the back of the city and they wewe cut down in the pwocess. The Empewow then owdewed his sowdiews to mawch on the city of Ves, to the shock of Malius and the othew pwesent Haeseni wowds. In owdew to avoid a civiw waw, and most likewy to keep his own kingdom fwom bulning, King Malius then made the decision not to pwotest the attack on Ves. The decision came as a shock to many, incwuding the King’s famiwy, and liww awguabry be considewed one of the defining moments of Malius’ weign.
